Laminga

Saw the reviews on trip advisor on this restaurant and wanted to give it a try for lunch. It was a very quaint and cute little restraurant tucked in the trendy bellavista neighborhood. Ordered the pisco sour and it was delicious and would highly recommend! For lunch, I ordered the grilled tuna which was very simple, clean, and frankly a little too plain and wished I had ordered something else. The salad that I ordered was also very simple and clean salad with light greens, green apple, pistacio, pecorino, and a sort of goat cubed cheese (which was a little too much cheese on the salad for my taste).
The server spoke English and was friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend this place but perhaps order something else beside the grilled tuna.

I loved this restaurant! We picked it out of the blue, just walking by and looking for a good place for dinner where we could sit outdoors.
Very friendly staff, delicious, fresh food, at very reasonable prices. It’s not touristy at all… staff does speak English if that’s important to you.
I highly recommend the empanada — the baked one.
Staff was also helpful in calling us a cab so we could return to our hotel.
We liked the restaurant to much that the next day we returned for lunch. Chirimoya juice was very refreshing on a hot day!
Try this restaurant… you will love it!

We had dinner there as part of a necessary backup plan, because the Peumayen Ancestral restaurant opposite of the street messed up our reservation (different story, see my other review).
Turned out this was the best thing that could happen to us that day, because not only was the staff really friendly (and not pseudo-​hipster-​type like in the Peumayen), but also the food excellent and the price more than reasonable.
Definitely two thumbs up!

Al preguntarle a un amigo (que sabe más que yo de restaurantes) por los mejores locales de comida chilena en Santiago, me recomendó Del Beto, el Galindo y Laminga. Como ya conocía los primeros 2, terminé llevando a un grupo grande de compañeros de trabajo a probar este, y a todos nos gustó mucho.
El local mismo:
Ubicado en la calle Constitución del Barrio Bellavista, sin ser grande es lo suficientemente amplio para estar cómodo.
Para beber:
Cuenta con una amplia carta de vinos. En lo personal, preferí cerveza y ofrecen varias cervezas artesanales chilenas en schop además de varias importadas en botella.
Para comer:
El local es de comida chilena, por lo tanto los platos lo componen platos típicos de la cocina popular de Chile, pero con un toque moderno. Estos se componen de carne, como la típica plateada, o pescado con algún acompañamiento típico (charquicán, a lo pobre, pastelera de choclo, etc.). En mi caso, fui por el atún grillado con quinoa, que estaba delicioso. Para picotear hay variedad de ceviches, empanadas y otros. Para el postre habían varias opciones bien criollas, como sopaipillas pasadas y leche asada. En mi caso, fui por un postre de cola de mono exquisito.
La atención:
Los garzones bien atentos y amables. Nos ofrecieron un bajativo de cortesía al final y en particular la garzona que nos atendió a nuestro grupo, hablaba muy buen inglés lo que cayó bien en mis acompañantes extranjeros. Contaban también con el menú traducido al inglés lo cual facilitó la elección de los angloparlantes del grupo.
El local no es barato (aproximadamente $ 20.000 p/​p) pero vale totalmente la pena, especialmente para llevar a extranjeros a que conozcan la cocina chilena.
100% recomendable.

For those looking for yummy and authentic chilean flavors (with a modern touch!), then seek no more. Also, don’t forget the Pisco Sour, made with a great pisco. It met all of my expectations! A reservations is recommended.
