In addition to its adorable name, which I have learned means«Hungry note,» this establishment is easy to fall in love with. It’s a place that has a propensity for creating regular customers such as myself. I will briefly mention that I am merely a poor student in search of cheap eats, and Hladova nota has satisfied my needs and more with its delicious food and friendly service. It’s a relatively small joint, about three tables and a bar, but charming. I had the delightful privilege of getting acquainted with the owner, John, and some of his regulars and I must say that I was humbled by the experience. They are genuinely good and real people, which is quite rare in this world of ours. I recently left Prague to continue my journey, and I must say I was more sad in leaving Hladova nota and its company than I was of leaving Prague. All praise to John. His English is minimal but kindness and generosity transcend language barriers. Oh, and his sandwiches are dope.
