Cosy Balkan restaurant decorated in an old country style and located very close to Malostranske namesti. The place looks small when you enter, but there is a bigger room behind. Gitanes offers a lot of delicious dishes from Balkan cuisine including pleskavica and cevapcici and many other meat options. They also have a good variety of sea food and fish and surprisingly a big choice of pasta. Among the desserts, baklava is clearly the best, in my opinion. The collection of wines is quite good, you can choose among wines from Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy and France. The service is slow, but the food experience in general is very good.

Save your money. Terrible quality food, inattentive service and full of flies (all over our dinner, the wall, and one flew in my mouth!). Food was bland and the «olive plate» was a can of machine pitted olives, not even in olive oil. Enough said.

Wonderful restaurant serving Balkan food. The menu is extensive with plenty of choices, nice selection of wines from the region. The food is fresh, tasty snd well prepared. The interior is quaint, with the sort of furniture
You would find at your grandma’s place. Servers were super friendly offering us the choice of a high chair or a high — backed chair with large armrests for our baby to sit in. They also have a nice patio, but if sits on the road leading to the US embassy, so the road can get busy since there is always a line for security checks. Make sure to save room for desserts!

Auf der Kleinseite gelegenes Lokal mit einer gemischten Karte aus Gerichten serbischer, kroatischer und bosnischer Küche. Das Lokal ist wahnsinnig kitschig eingerichtet, entbehrt aber nicht eines gewissen Charmes. Zumindest ist es total zugestellt und überladen. Man wird freundlich bedient. Die Gerichte sind schmackhaft, wenn auch nicht herausragend. In Anbetracht der eher einfachen Karte ist das Lokal für prager Verhältnisse nicht ganz billig.
Ganz nett als Abwechslung zur böhmischen Küche.
