Meal is very good and testes as it should taste. Meals are overall cheap for that amount and quality. Servis is OK but when I ordered a cappuccino and main dish I expect that the staff know the cappuccino should be the first and then soup and else, not bringing the soup first, then coffee and then the pasta. My first visit was english rostbeef — delicious. Second visit I took spaghetti with chicken pieces, cheese sauce, baked tomato and parmesan — it was one the best pasta ever, I ate half and the second half I took for my wife :) Tomato soup very good.

Let me be the second person to write a review in English. When one is up at 4:30AM due to jet lag, what else is there to do? We rented a VRBO around the corner and the owner Andrea recommended the place as very good and reasonably priced, and she was right. They have English versions of the menu which is so tremendously helpful. Our waitress spoke English as well. Czech is not an easy language to wing or fake, so this was huge. I’d call this gastro pub fare. Not gourmet, but solid and a step up from just burgers and fish and chips type pub food. We had the salmon with corn and baby carrots, a pork loin on a mushroom sauce(claimed to be a truffle sauce but was more standard mushroom tasting), the beet, goat cheese, cashew and tempeh(warm entrée, not a salad) and what they called«tapas», but was a charcuterie plate of 3 meats, 3 cheeses, olives, caper berries and bread. Everything was good. If you like beets you’d be surprised how good that dish was. Between 4 of us we had 4 beers and 3 glasses of wine. Total bill translated, with tip, to $ 12USD per person. Toto, we aren’t in San Francisco anymore! The other English review was spot on that you will have cigarette smoke. It’s my first night here, but I imagine that is going to be the norm everywhere.

So I guess I’m the first person to review this place in English. I stayed in Prague for a week with a group of friends. We rented an apartment that was out of the touristy area(near Old Town/Charles Bridge/etc) and thank god for that. Doing so really allowed us to get an actual Czech experience. One of those experiences includes this restaurant. I came here for dinner three times, and every time I came the food was exceptional. Twice, I ordered the beets with the goat cheese and potato pancakes. SOGOOD. And it was a great vegetarian option. I also ordered the couscous, which was quite good, apart from the soy thing that was on top of it, which was a bit too dry and bland for my liking. I also ordered the garlic bread as a side, and it was quite possibly the best garlic bread I’ve ever had. Ok, now what I’m about to tell you. is a must order item. The tomato soup. Oh my god. I hate tomato soup. I cannot emphasize this enough. But the tomato soup from here is MAGICAL. It comes with a thin, crunchy piece of bread that’s perfect to eat by itself, or to dip into the soup. What makes the tomato soup so special is the fact that has so many flavors. There’s basil, a creamy white sauce, parmesan, and basil. Wow, so delicious. Really do yourself a favor and order it. Cannot go wrong. Now, onto the drinks. Thank god Prague is a cheap city. I say this as a student who’d been living in Roma. Whenever I’d go out in Rome and order a meal and a drink, it would be around 20 euros. Whereas here, when converted from Korunas to euros, it was about 10. You have to have beer when you’re in Prague. Germany always gets all the credit for good beer. But Prague also has exceptionally good beer. I even enjoyed some of the Prague beers more than the beers I had in Germany. And they’re also very cheap ’cause you can get a huge half liter of a beer for like 2 euros. I ordered a White Russian though, and it wasn’t the greatest. I also tried some of my friend’s gin and tonic which was quite good, but not the best I’ve had. So I suggest just sticking to beers. Also, the Czech Republic isn’t like other countries in Europe. You really really should tip. So please don’t forget that. And don’t be stingy, because you probably ate a huge amount of food for practically nothing. *I’d just like to warn those who are sensitive to smells, namely, the smell of cigarettes, there is a lot of smoking that goes on in here. You can be sitting next to table with a group of 6 people and for the duration of your entire meal, they’ll be smoking. However, it didn’t bother me, and it shouldn’t bother you unless you have medical issues. It is how it is. Just enjoy the food and drinks!
