Carlsbad, CA
Bar and Books reminds you of one of those laid back old school speakeasy type of places that you’d find in New York City. This place was actually tastefully done and there weren’t a lot of tourists which make it sort of a gem. The service was fantastic and the drinks were stiff and delicious. Ordered a couple gin concoctions and a couple of beers and the arrived promptly and tasted delicious. Overall, this is a great spot for a nightcap or just an overall night out.

Company afterparty. Simply loved it here. Great atmosphere and staff. Bar with selves full of books, cigars and nice bottles.:-) Enjoyed especially Gimlet.

Love this place! Cigar and cocktail bar in Prague. The cocktails are pricey, but we loved the vibe and theme. The bathrooms were decked out too. Apparently they have one in New York too. It looks like a library meets old classic New York inside.

If you already have a group of people that you are out with and you just want to relax and enjoy some drinks, i can think of no better place. The atmosphere was top notch and the drinks are classy as hell. Don’t go thinking that this is the place to meet new people though, you gotta bring the party with you and let Bar and Books cater to your every need.

Good but not the best cocktail place in Prague. Menu consist of maximum 10 cocktails. They can’t make a cocktail to order. But cocktails from menu are very good. I didn’t actually like that it is possible to smoke cigars here, because the is no too much fresh air and it is terrible to breathe. Also we were a big company (6 person) and it was difficult for a hostess girl to locate us. And yes, the price is too high. Cocktails are costs about 10 eur, and the wine list is very expensive about 50 Eur/​bottle but I don’t understand why, actually.

I checked out this place last night after hearing so much about it. It’s located on a really cute street like most of other places in Praha 1. The décor is very nice with monkey antique lamps (i know right?), dimmed lighting, a wall of encyclopedias and a well dressed staff.
The first thing they asked when we walked in, «do you have a reservation?» Hm. no, isn’t this a bar? Anyways, we waited at the bar for about 5 minutes, then were seated by the waitress. They have a great selection of cocktails so I went with a Dark and Stormy. It was actually just OK. I’ve had Dark and Stormy a plenty of times, this was not the best. And I paid 200Kz ($ 10) for it. After having a round of drinks, we just wanted to leave and get something better.
It’s a place where you pay for the ambiance and not the greatness of drinks. I’m not sure If I will go back.
