Though I love the build-your-own brunch concept, this place fell short for me compared to the others right from the beginning. I asked if they had lactose-free milk for coffee and the girl said over her shoulder to me as she was taking drinks to someone’s table: «We have soy milk but I don’t know if there is lactose in it.» She seemed pretty busy and therefore not all there. Interesting to see that they have beer from Bryghuset Møn, so I will have to investigate that another time. The menu is about the same price as W&K and M&K, and you can choose 1, 5, or 7 items. Seeing as there were fewer choices, I asked if it would be cheaper if I took 3 or 4 instead of 5, and was unfortunately told that it would not be. Again, a place that doesn’t take reservations for brunch! Luckily on a Saturday morning around 10am there weren’t that many people so it was easy to get a table outside in the sun. Our food came out quickly and looked very nice! I was happy that the bacon was crispy and not greasy at all and the fried egg came with a twin. Unfortunately it wasn’t mentioned that the cheese spread was also served with the salmon so I got a bit of cheese overload. And the bread was just two slices of rye and two very small slices of mediocre white bread. At the other places this would be fine since they are included in the menus, but I did pay more for it so though it was a paltry 15 kr extra I was expecting more or better quality. If I go next time I will just stick to the bacon and egg. or maybe just make it at home myself. It wasn’t terrible but does not meet the standards of the other brunch places in Copenhagen. If I need a good brunch in Nørrebro I would much rather go to Møller K&K and wait in line. TL;DR: Pros: crispy bacon, outdoor seating in the morning sun, not crowded, more emphasis on organic products. Cons: service a little spacey, stingy on bread, not as many brunch items, no reservations.

Wonderful neighbourhood joint. I think the food is excellent and pretty good value-for-money. The people who work there are friendly and helpful, and I have only positive things to say. We recently went on a Sunday for brunch and it was busy/crowded, but the waiting time was totally reasonable. I though they were staffed pretty well to meet the customer demand. Very hyggelig place!

The concept of pick-your-own-item brunch has apparently spread throughout Copenhagen. I could count at least several places that have now the same concept, from the old-fashioned menu Café Bang & Jensen in Vesterbro until the hip and colourful brunch Wulff og Konstali and now also Café Tænk. However, it feels unfair to give this place more than three when I give my favourite WOGK four stars, although I can’t seem to find anything wrong with my brunch with Mina K apart from small negligible things. First, the location is very nice at Rantzausgade, across the big church, where it’s super nice to sit outside on the sunny day like we did in October(!!) The inside of the café is quite small, but also decorated in a way that it’s hyggeligt for the patrons as well. Second, the service was friendly. The girl behind the counter was a bit busy on Saturday morning but she serviced with a smile and wasn’t rushing us with our orders at all. We told her that we would sit outside and she brought our food placed in round chopping block that it’s pretty to take picture of(after all, these cafes realise that beautiful food pictures on instagram can bring more guests(and revenues!) to the café). Third, my food was ok, the bacon was crispy(not dripping in oil like in Møller Kaffe og Køkken), my spejlæg was perfectly cooked(with runny yolk — although I didn’t specify exactly), the salmon and the cream was nice, the avocado ok and the sausages were kinda meh and obviously store-bought. But maybe that was it, the food was OK, and there was nothing memorable about the brunch experience. My cortado that I ordered alongside the brunch was also OK. Not bad, not fantastic, just OK. It could’ve been spectacular, but it wasn’t. Hence the three stars. That said, the place is nice for hangout and the brunch is definitely not bad if you’re ever in that area.
