If you’re in the neighborhood, this is definitely worth a visit. Having a small menu, you’re guaranteed fresh food, and you can taste that everything has been made from scratch. Even their fries has been cut manually, soaked in water, boiled, then re-freezed, and is then deep fried not once, but TWICE! This is how much this place cares about the taste! Most items are fail-safe choices, having a steak frites with bearnaise, two different Burgers, along with a pasta dish and some different entrees. Me and my Co-worker came for an early dinner after a business meeting, and had two burgers. We were not disappointed, as the burgers tasted fresh and delicious. The fries were also really good. The places also have some really good cocktails that you can start off with, if you fancy that before you have dinner!

I have walked a few times past Co-Ma and the place looked interesting. I looked on their webpage and found out Co is for Cocktails and Ma is for Mad(=food). Sounds like a good combination! First you have a good cocktail, then some good food and finish with a cocktail! No. I will get back to what I mean. So then I looked at the menu online. Seems there’s Italian startes(Antipasti, Fettucine etc) pretty all-round mains(steak, fish etc) and French desserts(tarte tatin, chocolate fondant etc). Confusing? On a Friday, I would expect the place to be popular, but as the online table booking showed wide availability, I didn’t bother. So I walked right in, and got to pretty much choose a table. The waitress also kindly took my coat and took it to a back room. The cocktail list is quite appealing, and reasonably priced. Remember, Kitjn is just a few minutes away. I selected a cocktail while I was choosing the menu. Here comes another confusion. The nice waitress told me there are cocktail menus. 2 for 130DKK and there was also a package for 3. Apparently the idea was that you would drink cocktails with the food. Ok… I choose to have wine thank you, but I would like to have a cocktail as an apéritif. I got one, Ginger & Cucumber Collins, and it was very good! As a starter, I ordered the Fettucine. A wine recommendation for that was half-impossible. The bartender came and after some hesitation we agreed on a pinot noir. The fettucine was excellent! I got quite excited, as if this was the standard of the food and the apéritif was excellent, then this was going to be a great evening. Sadly, here was the top. The pinot noir wasn’t a very good choice. Then came a long wait before the main, the oxemörbrad. The staff handled the situation very well. Apparently they had some miscommunication with the kitchen, and I got a bottle of San Pellegrino on the house. When the food finally came, the piece of meat was adequate, but the rest was a bit dull. The recommended Rioja was a good pairing, even if the waiter broke the cork in half when he opened a new bottle for my glass. He salvaged the situation quite well. Then I wanted dessert. Perhaps I could pair a dessert with a good cocktail? So I ordered the dessert menu, and then the next confusion came. «You could have a cocktail instead of the dessert» I was told. Ok, I had thought I could have both. I ended up ordering a hazelnut caipirinha and no dessert. This way I got the 2 cocktail package. The caipirinha was good but I didn’t taste the hazelnut very much. I paid my bill, and the waitress wished me a good night. Yes, but what about my coat? Where is it? Then I saw it in a warderobe next to the bathrooms. I picked it up myself. So all in all, a very mixed and confusing experience. It’s sad I can’t give half stars, as 3,5 stars is closer to the truth. The fettucine was close to 5 stars, but the main was a 3 star. Service was inexperienced but ambitious. The interior didn’t really give away if the focus was Italian, French or something else. The pricing was to the quality on the high side. I think this place would need an indentity check and a «father-figure» to guide the staff. Is it Italian or French or something else? Are the cocktails supposed to be paired with food, substitute for food or aperitifs and digestifs? Is it supposed to be an above average(i.e. higher class than the nearby Bopa, Pixie and Phoenix) or not? Confused, but satisfied = 3 stars.
