My girlfriend and I stayed here for four days. We loved how close Stroget and Norreport station was to the hotel. It was also a short walk to Torvehallerne food market which was incredibly convenient to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. We rented bikes(150dkk per person) for a few days and it was a fast and painless prpcedure, we got to see everything we wanted to see! The hotel breakfast(155dkk) was small and limited in variety but it was convenient! It included items like organic ham, hardboiled eggs, assortment of bread, yogurt parfaits, rhubarb drink, and tea. The room itself was smaller in size and was generally hard to maneuver(stubbed my toe a lot). However, the bed was very comfortable and everything was really clean. The staff was generally accomodating and brought everything we needed and helped a lot with directions and suggestions! We would definitely stay at Ibsens again because of its location and minimalist charm.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice and at their counter part Kong Arthur once. It’s not by choice as all three times were booked by our collaborators. The location is quite good, there’s a cosy café bar across the road, it’s a short walk to the Torvehallerne, a nice little indoor artisan food market, and the building also houses Sticks ‘n’ Sushi! The service at the hotel is okay. The staff speak English but they are too slow during check in and checkout times. On my latest visit, we were informed at check in that they were doing planned engineering works on their lift so we would have to take the stairs. There were many unhappy guests with large pieces of luggage and one who had mobility problems. The hotel should have put up a notice on their website! The rooms are not great. They’re a bit tired looking, have creaky floorboards under their tired looking carpets. The furniture is very minimal and I think they’re suited for business travellers on short stays only. Luckily this time, there was a small kettle with tea bags and instant coffee in my room! The bathroom is a wet room and it’s not luxurious. I think so many other reviewers are disappointed because of how pricey this hotel is. It’s true that the walls are thin and you can hear everything inside and outside the hotel, I’m afraid. As the hotel is in a building with Kong Arthur hotel, you can use the spa they have downstairs for an additional £15 a day. I did this the first time but it wasn’t worth it so I’ve not gone again! The breakfast is not worth the money, unless you like a small yoghurt and granola, fresh fruit and a croissant ALOT. I would recommend going to pick up something from a bakery nearby or even at the Torvehallerne. The good thing is a Cosy Hour every day between 5pm-6pm, when guests will get a glass of wine and a nibble for free for guest to mingle, which is a great idea when you’re travelling alone on business. Maybe you can find a friend who’ll go to Stick ‘n’ Sushi with you?!

Literally the worst designed hotel room I’ve ever seen. So tiny that even a small person will crash around, to start with. The shower is on top of the toilet, and it’s impossible not to get the carpet wet when you leave the bathroom because you’re standing in water. Nowhere to hang towels. Insufficient storage generally, if you try to sit in the ultra modern armchair, you’ll get stabbed by overlapping furniture. Enjoy hearing literally every noise and conversation inside and outside of the hotel. No coffee or tea in room, the wifi provided is nonusable. Website advertises free breakfast but hotel staff insist it’s 150dkk instead. Prepare to be nickle and dimed, and very uncomfortable.

The hotel is very close to Nørreport Station, metro and S line. A middle range hotel, not too expensive considering the hotel in Copenaghen. The service at the checking was very slow. They took it very easy, too much for my point of view. They gave the keys and we went to the room, which was on the second floor. It was cool, it was big as we paid, it was nice, I liked the bed and the toilet. the details were particular in line with the Danish style. I am good sleeper, i don’t mind if it is noisy, and it was. The room was close to the street and give above their restaurant so we could hear the music, the people on the street and my husband could close an eye. We called the reception and they tried to accomodate us, as chancing room at that time wasn’t possible. In the morning we asked for a new room, we got one, bit smaller, but located on 6th floor, the noisy was gone. What was missed was the kettle, no coffe and milk were provided. We asked for it, they could give any as the risk was a black out :-). The stuff did their best to make our staying nice. it has been appreciated. They recommend to write on the booking if you want for a quite room etc… so if you know, you can add it at your booking. We didn’t pay for the breakfast which we considered quite expensive at the hotel. If you wish, you can pay for it at the arrival. In my opinion you don’t need to do so. In this way you can discover the Danish cafes and enjoy the cosy atmosphere offered by the local café, saving why not some DKK. What I liked was the bed, very comfortable, the room was warm too. I didn’t feel cold, which make the hotel a good choice for me.

Our first time at the Ibsen and will come back here anytime we return to Copenhagen. Great location, cool reception, and great lounge and restaurant. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Very reasonable rates for all you get. Not a super fancy huge hotel, but if you like the small independent family run place oozing with charm and professionally done, like we do, then this is the place for you.

The staff here is super nice and accommodating and the hotel is in a very nice area. And that’s about all I can say that’s nice about this place… The rooms are SUPER small. The beds SUCK big time. The bathroom is really a small wet room. The TV remotes will probably have dead batteries. And there might be bugs in your room. We were there for 3 days and moved rooms 4 times. And I hate to complain, but this place just sucked. After the second night I was thinking about moving hotels. They offer«free wi-fi», but what they don’t tell you is it’s limited, so it has the speed of a 28.8k modem. If you want real internet you need to pay another 50DKK a day. Their 150DKK a day breakfast, while tasty, wasn’t nearly worth it. You get a pre-made cold sandwich, a few tiny yogurts and fruit cups, and some juice. Want coffee? That’s an extra 35DKK. Rather then ramble on, just take my word for it and don’t stay here. For the same prices there are many other better hotels in the area. I really feel bad for the people who work there, they must put up with a lot.
