I think I may have had the best burger if my life, and that says a lot! This place was recommended by a patron at Fermentoren and was spot on.

i really, really love that denmark is grasping the concept of using more of the animal, so i was really looking forward to this dinner. it started off a bit bumpy with slow, inattentive service, but hunger and thirst don’t make for a good first impression. the heavy smell of meat didn’t help our grumbling stomachs. our drinks were lovely at first sight, a generous pour in an attractive glass, but i would have settled for less soda in my dark(?) and stormy so i could taste the alcohol. the food was great! pork crackling with bacon mayo, deviled eggs, and fried hearts were all delicious. i opted for the tartare burger with an egg fried sunny side up, which may have been a mistake. though it tasted good, i felt a little queasy less than an hour after eating here and had to rush home. my other dinnermates did not share my experience, luckily. my stomach was a little tender the day after so if i do come back, i won’t get the tartare.

At first we were disappointed by a slow service but that was due to a very busy crowd. When the food finally came we were positively surprised about the pulled pork sandwich, the great side starters and the service where we got more than one round free shots due to the delay. we will definitely go there again to hang out with the guys!

Nose2Tail is usually really good — been there a couple of times. However last time was a real disappointment. Onion rings were raw. The house red tasted awful — as if they had stumpled across a real old open bottle somewhere in the gems in the corner of the kitchen. I ordered medium steak — they might as we’ll have served live stock at the table. Great staff can sometimes make you a little less grumpy but it seemed they did all they could to keep you grumpy. Its a real shame cause these guys have a great concept. I really hope that they get back on track or that I just had a very unfortunate visit.

Happened upon this gem through recommendations from the bartenders at Rubys cocktail bar around the corner. we got seated straight away, the drinks were decent and generous(dark and stormys that filled a medium mason jar to the brim…) Great burgers(we had the pulled pork and the tartar) that came with onions rings and truffle/Parmesan fries. We can recommend both, these two former New Yorkers were very happy! For this part of the world, the food to price ration makes this place a steal.

I didn’t choose this place, and I’m not sure how my friend did, but there we were, face2face eating at nose2tail diner. We were in a small boutique that afternoon and my friend asked a local whether they had been: «no, but I’ve heard of it… good things», she quickly added. So off we went. The crowd was mixed out on the patio(there are about 8 tables or so that are curb-side); on a beautiful night few people were sitting indoors. Some couples, but mainly(coincidentally?) guys with beers and fries and mayo(more on that in a moment). My friend had made a reservation but that proved, in hindsight, to be unnecessary… the place was popular but not bumpin’, knowwhattImean? We started with some fries with chili mayo and some deviled eggs. The fries were great by my fry-standards, albeit salt-lick levels of saline. The chili mayo was one of several on offer(including bacon); it paired nicely with the saltiness of the fries. The eggs were good, but were not deviled; they were(by North American cocktail standards) pickled. The beers we chose to accompany included an IPA/Pilsner mix, a Nose2Tail homebrew and a can of «Hipster Ale»(Evil Twin). The mains are where it started to get interesting because I dove into my burger. Perfectly cooked medium, it was a treat to enjoy a juicy still-pink patty after forcing my way through a lot of meatloaf-on-a-bun-style burgers in the UK. The bun was fantastic, and garnished with a coleslaw, tangy pickles and a carmelised onion topping. I went whole hog(FOODPUN!) and got the house-cured bacon on top. ITWAS A GAMECHANGER. GETTHEBACON. GET! THE! BACON! Not too salty and perfectly crispy without being overdone. The server, who grew up on a farm, said it was the best bacon she had ever had. My friend’s main was the Chef Salad with(fried) fish. She said, in a haze of beer, that it was possibly her«top 1 salad ever». Note, though: this is not a «chef’s salad» in a North American understanding: in this case it implies the chef’s chosen selection and in this case it was local greens and freshly shucked peas and pickled veg and radishes. For dessert(yes! Impressively we had room!) we all dug our spoons into a communal jar of rhubarb trifle. Truth: I will dig my spoon into anything claiming rhubarb content. Yum-dash-oh. Unilocal note: perhaps this is common in Denmark, but I found it strange(by the end of reading the bill: annoying) that we were charged per carafe of tap water.

I really feel like this review could actually consist of only two words and I would consider it complete: Bacon Mayo. But because I did consume other things while at my dinner with Unilocal CM Emilie, I guess I better write about those too. We shared onion rings to dip in the bacon mayo which I can safely say are the best onion rings I’ve had in Denmark. They *might* also compete with some of the best onion rings I’ve had in the US(home of the fried foods), but I’d need to compare them back to back in order to be sure, so I’ll get back to you on that(anyone willing to organize and onion ring taste test, you know where to find me). I will say, however, that despite the burger looking very delectable, it will not be making my Best Burger in CPH list. It was good, and the bacon slices that were added to it were delicious, however, the meat itself was a little tough and overdone, and I’m more partial to the juicy cheeseburgers of Halifax, Vesterbros Originaleburgerrestaurant, and Café Alma. I did have a taste of the pulled pork, which was delicious, so perhaps I would’ve been better off with that. Worth noting is that they offer gluten-free buns at Nose2Tail Diner. That’s pretty awesome, in my opinion, especially for those who can’t handle the glutens but still want a bun to hold their burger with. Otherwise the service was really quite delightful — our waitress was very attentive and the staff inside(we sat outside where there are about 5 – 6 two-top tables on the sidewalk) were also very helpful and smiley. Always a nice treat when dining out. The inside is enormous and covers two floors, so don’t be shy about bringing large groups to this restaurant and spreading out.
