Nice place to have burgers! Good service — mostly in English. A little bit loud but nothing too bad. Open kitchen, so you can see how your food is prepared. Tasty vegetarian burger but with a surprising name: treehugger. Big tables if you want to come with a large number of friends.

We ordered delivery of two burgers and twister fries(one chili, one salted). Not only did we get, our order wrong, no chili fries :(but also everything was cold, the fries, the burgers, and completely soggy buns too. Horrible and overpriced dinner experience, never again.

Cock’s and Cows is a sure thing. I have eaten here many times, both in their restaurant, but also as takeaway. They dont make the best burgers you can get, but they are pretty good — and they are pretty good every single time. If you want a good(not great) burger, this is definitely a good place to go. I would recommend booking tables in advance, as they are quite popular and most likely booked up. Being in the restaurant gives you a lot of mixed signals, mostly because they mix up a lot of styles throughout the century. The menu is very oldschool ish, but some of the decour is more 70s/80s and it seems like it hasn’t been properly thought through. I will definitely be returning, when I want a burger that I know I like, without taking any chances of a new place.

I should first note that I’m born and raised in California and I ate my usual order from In-N-Out right before flying back here. Obviously I don’t hold Copenhagen to the same standards since the burger culture isn’t the same, nor is a fast food cheeseburger the same as what you’re served in a sit-down restaurant, but I still didn’t that feel it was the best I’ve had here. The salt & vinegar fries were great, but a little heavy on the salt. Some pieces were more vinegary than others. Nice and crisp when they were hot but went downhill quickly as they cooled, as fries do. The burger itself looked very nice but there was too much lettuce inside, which eventually made the bun soggy and fall apart. I eat burgers with my hands though, maybe they are constructed for fork-and-knife eating. The cucumbers also contributed to soaking the bun; as much as I love them, I will never understand how cucumbers end up in burgers(or kebab, for that matter). Keep out! Everyone in our group except for the vegetarians received the Cheese & Smoke burger and unfortunately both of those elements were missing. I would have liked more cheese and there was a single slice of bacon which was not very crisp, although I didn’t expect it to be and less so in a group serving. I do love smoke-flavoured anything so this was a little disappointing. Finally the patty was a good size and cooked to medium rare with lots of lovely pink in the middle. Also thank you for putting bottles of ketchup on the table and not giving me a thimble of it on request. What can I say, I’m from the States; I love ketchup! As for the cock’s part, I got a Dark & Stormy which was not as gingery nor as boozy as I would have liked. And maybe it’s just me but the price seems a little steep for a cocktail with only two ingredients. The service was good, though we were in a group which had pre-ordered the burgers, fries, and dips the day before. My only gripe is that they will only split the bill 4 ways(why?) and although it was nice to get a 10% discount, it was taken off each individual item so the combined bill for all of us was a little hard to decipher. I think we figured it out in the end. hopefully. Altogether it’s a satisfactory burger which would probably be better in smaller, customized orders and with less lettuce/no cucumber. But I’ll get the cocktail somewhere else.

My second time at this restaurant and I’m still not impressed. I really don’t know how they can win«best burger 2015» The bun is to big and way to crispy. The toppings are almost no exciting. I ordered a classic bacon cheese, but u had to look really careful to find any of these toppings. The meat was okay but a bit tasteless. The fries were standard curly fries and the dip wasn’t impressed either. The guacamole looked and tasted of the guacamole u can buy in a grocery store. I’m disappointed especially when your comparing the prices to other places. We were a group of 10 ppl and none of us were impressed.

Three of us arrived and chose to sit on the roof top terrace. Instantly greeted by real friendly staff who seated us and ensured we were comfortable. I had the Governator, which totally terminated my hunger whilst a vegetarian friend of mine had the tree hugger… he said it was the best vegetarian burger he has had whilst in Copenhagen. The chilli fries were absolutely awesome with the perfect amount of crunch and chilli, which was all washed down with two jugs of dark and stormy cocktails! The roof top terrace had a relaxed atmosphere with bench seats that were covered in sheep skins and heat lamps that kept the chilled wind at bay. Great location for groups. I’ll be back

Meh … Over priced and not great quality. Bronx burger nearby is way way better. They charged us 25 kroner for a pitcher of tap water.

Came here after running the Copenhagen marathon, and it was delicious! I got the classic cow with a side of ribs, which easily filled me up. The only thing that caught me off guard was how ‘American’ it was; I felt like I was at home. I was hoping for a more Danish environment, but we were greeted in English so I assumed many tourists go here for burgers. Overall, great spot — outside dining area is beautiful — for burgers, but very Americanized.

We wanted to go to some nice place to have team dinner & one of my team members suggested this place. It started with trying to make reservation for 6 people, but was quite difficult to find reservation for the exact time we wanted & had to compromise. This just shows how busy this place can be even on a normal weekday. It started off with reaching the restaurant at a certain time & with a tight deadline that we can only have the table for 2 hrs, at the end of the day we managed to spend more than 2 hrs & fortunately did not get kicked Now down to food, I ordered chicken burger & some of my other team members ordered beef along with a variety of side orders ranging from fries, chili fries, wings, onion rings & also mini salads, honestly the taste was fantastic for all of the food that I tried & will surely make it here again. My team also ordered some beer & they kept saying this was one of the best beers they have tasted, which is a good sign as well. Service was ok, nothing bad about it & nothing out of the ordinary. I will absolutely recommend this place & suggest that everyone surely tries it, please ensure to make reservations in advance

The veggie burger I had here was so good it went to my all time top 5 due to the great veggie patty and tasty sweet american bun. We visited Cock’s & Cows on a Monday at 1PM and there weren’t very many other customers at the same time. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was ok — probably more interesting in the evening.

The Classic Cow is a good burger. The beef was cooked to a perfect medium and the romain added a nice crunch. The thinly sliced and pickled onions and cucumbers where an unexpected pleasant surprise. I had the dark beer on tap which was a nice compliment to the meal. This place was the perfect place to stop after an afternoon of walking in the steady drizzle.

I don’t get all the hype. Their burgers are less than stellar, the service even less. If anything, eat fries and get the burger elsewhere.

I spend a lot of time in Copenhagen. I come here when I am homesick for the foods of my motherland. There’s probably no where else in Europe you’re getting curly fries and chicken wings. Tastes like Amerikuh.

I really liked the atmosphere. We had booked a table and were led upstairs, where you’re seated either in American-style booths along the wall, or at one of the long massive wooden tables with benches. We had a cocktail before dinner — their cocktails are delicious and quite strong, so I’d say that’s a good bang for your buck. The burgers are oh-so-nom! I highly recommend their Sweet American bread, which comes branded with their logo and adds a really nice flavor. The meat was tender, well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. Looks like they’ve recently updated their burger menu, so I guess that means I have to go again soon — yay! They are really milking(pun not intended) their name theme, from the cocktail names to the signs on the bathroom doors that say«cocks» and«cows». I do recommend that you book a table in advance, as it seems to be quite popular. If you’re a walk-in, I’d suggest to do what other reviewers suggest and try to come outside of rush hours.

Very good quality food and great portion sizes. Good value for money. I had the Governator burger with chilli fries, leaving no room to try a dessert.

Considering the rest of the reviews here, I think this place was overrated. I have eaten much nicer burgers than this. The size of the burgers is big anyway and the price is OK. The taste was nothing special though and the service was mediocre. We ordered the governor and the illegal.

Best. Burgers. Ever. I had«The Governator,» curly fries, and a draft beer, and I have to say it was the best burger I’ve had after years living in Europe and Scandinavia. You can’t go wrong here. Good food, good atmosphere, and good prices. Definitely recommended. Just a tip, make a reservation. The line gets long quick.

I had heard so much about this place and their amazing burgers, so I was really looking forward to this… so I went into this hungry and ready. The interior is great and I like the concept a lot. We had a reservation for 5PM, and they offered a discount on cocktails in the bar before our table was ready. Nice gesture… but they needed another bartender. The drinks were good, but they took forever to make… Then we are waiting to speak to someone about us being on time for our reservation. It took ten minutes for someone to acknowledge us… but then we did get seated on time. We were so excited, but then it took them 20 minutes just to come over and say hello… and that was after we spoke to two different people, asking for a server. Once she came over, it was ok, but the wait time was abysmal. I had the Illegal burger, and it was very good. We also shared the onion rings, chili fries, curly fries and normal fries. All executed well. We also really liked the chili mayo and the aioli. Although the food was good and the interior charming, sadly it cannot get more than 2 stars because the service is bad. yes, that bad. So, come armed with a tablet, facebook, and a suitcase of patience. And when you order a cocktail, maybe order two… just to be on the safe side. Because the waiting really puts a bad taste in your mouth… no matter how good the burgers are.

Good olé American burgers and milkshakes! Cocks and Cows were voted best burger by AOK(a Danish blog) and given my husband’s quest to find the best burger, we came here on a Saturday afternoon. Food: 4⁄5 The milkshakes were delicious! We had the strawberry milkshake and the chocolate espresso, both were amazingly good. It was topped with whipped cream(the good stuff, not cool whip), sprinkles and a maraschino cherry(the cherry tasted bad, don’t eat it). The burgers were also quite tasty: cheese and bacon burger, «Illegal» which is guacomole and the jalapeño is served on the side. You could choose the type of bread it is served on and the beef patty was moist and juicy(medium rare). They used romaine lettuce instead of iceberg lettuce which gave it a nice and consistent crunch. Of note: burgers are consumed with a fork and knife in Europe, and given the size of this burger I would recommend cutting it in half before attempting to eat it with your hands. My only complaint is that they put way too much ketchup in my bacon burger. The twister fries(aka curly fries) are standard, fried and delicious. You could order various types of mayo as dipping sauce but I had them with ketchup. Service: 2⁄5 This place does takes reservations which is unfortunate because it is really popular and you end up having a large crowd waiting for tables while there are plenty of tables that have been reserved. Hence, my advice is to make reservations if you can. Otherwise, arrive before popular meal times(1pm and 6pm). Also unfortunate is that this place is understaffed. There is an outside courtyard and barnhouse that has additional seating, and our server was assigned to both these locations and several tables inside. We waited for 15 minutes and didn’t see her so I had to go inside to find our server and ask for the bill. By the time she got to our table she was visibly stressed and ended up handing us the wrong bill.(advice: always double check your bill before paying) Atmosphere: 4⁄5 This place is very rustic and hip. We were seated in the outside barn and it had heat lamps and blankets which makes for a cosy and interesting experience. Inside all the tables were abuzz with people and you can tell that this is a popular location. Value: 4⁄5 It cost around 300 kr for 2 people, which isn’t too bad considering Copenhagen. The burgers are huge and you will leave feeling quite full.

This place is hard to judge. If you are an American like me who loves your burgers then you will probably be a bit picky and have some issues with Cocks and Cows. The good thing is they are the closest you’ll find to a real American-style burger. The portions sizes are nice. These are big juicy burgers. Happily they served it medium rare without having to ask. Downfall is the burgers come served alone, you have to order fries etc. on the side. Chili fries were a bit of a let down, but the twisted fries were thick-cut and great. The buns are sort of flat and toasted and crumble apart when you try to eat them, even the«American bun». They do have good options for different flavor combinations, though be warned that the Mexican option only comes with a jalepeno skewered on top of the burger, not actually in it. We had a rough experience in that they forgot one of our burgers, so I ate mine while my boyfriend waited. Overall a decent experience, a decent burger, but for $ 20 you would expect a bit better in food quality and service.
