Palads

I don’t understand the bad reviews as I found the place beautiful with a large choice of treat (displayed as in a supermarket) a ticket a 90kr and a small but effective selection of american movies.

I like Palads! I don’t see the point with the bad reviews but it is, of course, matter of taste. And from my perspective this movie theater is seriously good.
The entire building is very big, as are cinema halls and the services. Acoustics work really fine and video quality on the screens too. I was here to watch a re-​screening of a CPH: DOX feature film, «The Wolfpack», and the hall was almost fully crowded. I was able to enjoy the movie and didn’t have any problems with technical stuff.
Two candies and pop-​corn shops out of three were closed, this meant that the line for the only one open was really long, and I wasn’t able to get my Cola and pop-​corns as the movie was already starting. :(
Toilets are super clean and personnel is responsive and helpful.
Of course, the scheduling is most about blockbuster movies and newest releases, so do not expect «essai cinématographique», yet still it can be enjoyable to watch a good movie.
All along it’s a nice cinema house, screening fine movies and offering a good service.

Great movie selection! Great fresh popcorn! Great snack deals! The seats are comfortable and lean back in most of the theaters. What more can you ask for in a theater! Since it’s such a big place it has some 20 screens to choose and watch movies from!

Reading many of the somewhat negative reviews I need to confess right off the bat, I like Palads. Maybe it’s because of the cheap beer (25dkk is alright), maybe it is because I can go here basically any time of day and just slide down in my seat and watch a movie. I do love watching movies alone, preferably in an empty theater. :)
I should make it clear that this review is not entirely about the movie theater, many times I just go here straight from the station when back from a trip, to collect my thoughts and catch up on work that has piled up while being offline or just inaccessible.
In the cafè they have always been friendly and helpful, in the ticket counter a little less so. Usually there are quite young and I would imagine underpaid, it really hasn’t bothered me much since I get the tickets in the machine at the entrance.
I am a big Imperial fan, any big budget movie I always prefer watching in Imperial. But for those times where you wanna catch a romantic comedy or a drama and just lean back and relax in a smaller movie theater, for those times I think Palads really fits the bill.
I have been hearing some things about unfair employment conditions etc, but it is hard for me to know. If something like this would surface I will update my review, in the meantime, treat them well, get a beer at the bar and enjoy your movie! :)

I like the building! Seems like a child’s paradise from outdoors. And it is. There are many young people and children coming here. I mean it is in the middle of the city and it is easy to visit. Also being next to the central train station makes it fast to commute there.
The cinema itself is large and has a huge candy store inside. Well the downside is that you WILL hear people eating during the movie time. If you re also one of those it’s good cause you won’t pay attention to the crunch noises, but otherwise it might be irritating.
In general I like this movie theatre. I like the feeling of being among people and sharing the experience. But that’s just me! If you like a quiet cinema free of kids and noises don’t go to this one!

it just a cinema, no frills no extras. its okay to watch a movie and waste some time but look somewhere else for atmosphere and service. you will often have to wait for some time in order to purchase both ticket and candy. i were standing i line 20 min for my ticket and then 10 for buying candy and a coke

ughhh. i hadn’t been to palads in a while and now i remember why. the clientele is mostly teenagers, the sound is bad, and the place is packed with the aforementioned teens who chat and rustle bags throughout the movie. if i have any choice, i won’t see a movie here again.):
