Extremely slow service. Be prepared to wait for a long time for both waiter and the food. Mussels are just ok, not so fresh.

The restaurant is gorgeous! Upstairs you have a library bar and a dining room. We had dinner, got a nice seat next to the window. I have to admit, I was not a big fan of their Belgian waffles with mushroom. The waffles tasted a bit too oily and the oil tasted a bit burnt. Hubby had a club sandwich and was happy with it. Nothing crazy good tho.
Worth visiting, have a few beers and go somewhere else for dinner. No complaints about the service.

Went there for drinks and for a dinner with a party of 9 people. Food was tasteless, mussels and steaks were over cooked. Service was rude and slow.
The place used be ok, but after this experience will never show up there again.

I had lunch here while visiting Helsinki. It’s a beautiful restaurant and bar. For lunch, you sit upstairs and they have a prix fixe meal and some other dishes too. The menu is pretty much in Finnish. I had tortellini which was just ok and it came with a salad bar (forgettable) and bread. I had a beer with my lunch. The service was okay, and again, the restaurant is quite nice looking.
Nothing to exciting report. I’d probably come here for an early evening drink in the cozy downstairs bar.

You like a good Belgian beer occasionally and want to enjoy it in a decent but cozy pub? Maybe you should pay a visit to Belge this weekend in that case.
This Belgian restaurant, bistro and pub is as central as it gets in a side street of Aleksanterinkatu. The dark interior gives it a stylish look and a warm atmosphere at the same time and makes you feel comfortable right away. When entering Belge on the lower floor you find yourself in a small and narrow pub area. Take the stairs to get to the much more airy upper floor that has enough space also during the weekend when it gets really crowded at Belge. Drinks and food are served on both floors.
The variety of beers is really good and they also have a good selection of changing dishes on their menu. It’s a great place both during the week and on weekends.

Belge benefits from a great location in the middle of a busy shopping disctrict, with lots of seating options: street tables for drinking, a ground floor indoor bar, plus a lounge and restaurant upstairs (accessible from the street as well as the indoor mall).
The décor is very dark but not bad. The European beer selection is excellent. So I would definitely recommend them for that.
As far as the food is concerned, we shared a savory Belgian waffle served with a green salad and mushroom dip/​spread (my guess is that it was mushrooms with a little cream cheese and minced raw onions). It was pretty good but the waffle was tiny and thin. For a Eu 10+ starter, it was a bit ridiculous. Then I had a mushroom crêpe with ratatouille. The crêpe was pretty thick but OK, the mushroom concoction was the same one as in the starter! Not cool for vegetarians. The ratatouille was bad. My wife’s mussels and French fries were a big let-​down: the mussels were bland (tasteless wine, little to no shallots, little salt) and overcooked (dry and rubbery) and the French fries were very large and pale (so of course mushy inside). Not worth the calories.
Bottom line: go for the beers, not for the food.

coole Bar. Essen: Clubsamdwich und –was sonst belgische Pommes mit Mayo; sonst ist die Küche eher teuer und auch nicht sooo top.

Den Vorschreibern ist nichts zuzufügen. Tolle Ambiente. Extrem relaxte Stimmung und gute (für Deutsche sehr teuere) Cocktails

Haben hier zu Abend gegessen, sehr angenehmes Ambiente, sehr freundliches Personal, leckere Speisekarte (perfekte Kennzeichnung hinsichtlich Gluten, Laktose, Alkohol, etc.), schmackhaftes Essen (gegrilltes Maishuhn mit gegrilltem Gemüse, hausgemachten French Fries und Käsesoße /​gegrillte Pute mit Rösti und Ziegenkäse, zum Nachtisch fantastischer, warmer Schokokuchen), der Weißwein war wohl temperiert und fruchtig. Leider war die Kaffeemaschine defekt, so dass der Espresso zum Nachtisch ausfallen musste. Alles in allem nur zu Empfehlen und wir würden jederzeit wieder hier essen.

Great Belgium themed place. Went here for dinner one evening. Good beers and food. Was pretty busy but still managed to get a place for our group without booking.

Prononcez belgué ! Un des meilleurs bars de la ville selon moi. Au rdc, le belge est un simple bistrot, mais en montant les marches, vous arriverez dans un immense bar lounge où il fait bon s’affaler en longueur dans des canapés format XXL, en feuilletant l’un des nombreux livres disponibles dans l’énorme bibliothèque sur place, mais aussi et surtout en sirotant une bonne bière belge (d’où le nom du bar).
Évidemment, la Finlande n’est pas réputée être bon marché pour l’alcool, né vous attendez donc pas aux tarifs belges… C’est cher, mais finalement justifié si l’on veut s’offrir un peu de belgitude dans ces terres froides et exotiques.

Die Bar im 1. Stock ist absolut fantastisch eingerichtet — wie eine grosse Bibliothek mit Tin-​Tin-​Memorabilia.
Aber Achtung:
Ja nie im Belge essen! Hab mich schon 3x von der coolen Atmosphäre verführen lassen und wurde kulinarisch bitter enttäuscht. Die wissen weder wie man Fleisch kocht, noch kommt das Zeugs bevor man vor Hunger unter dem Tisch liegt… kulinarisch gibts definitiv besseres in Helsinki!

Das Belge ist eine coole belgische Kneipe in der Stadtmitte von Helsinki, gleich in der Nähe der «FuZo», der Aleksanterinkatu.
Neben belgischem Bier zu leider skandinavisch-​steifen Preisen gibt es zwei weitere lohnenswerte Features: Wenn ihr die Treppe raufgeht und in den Innenraum geht, findet ihr euch in etwas wieder, was eine seltsame Mischung zwischen Bibliothek und Club ist. Die Wände sind bis zu den riesig hohen Decken mit Büchern vollgestellt, es gibt Sofas und Sitzecken zum Fläzen und auf halber Höhe klebt gelegentlich ein DJ, der für Musik sorgt. Dazu gibt es als zweites Feature ganz nettes Essen, z.B. die klassischen Moules Frites in diversen Varianten. (Ich fand sie mit Limone, Pernod und Fenchel sehr gut, das hab ich beim letzten Besuch allerdings nicht mehr auf der Karte gesehen.)
Man kann sich natürlich fragen, warum man ausgerechnet in Helsinki zu einem Belgier geht, obwohl Belgien bei uns vor der Haustüre liegt, aber probiert’s mal aus!
