Reasonably priced greek style restaurant in a peaceful location close to the city center. A large variety of paninis, ciabattas and salads. Coffee didn’t stand out from other venues in town but the decoration and athmosphere makes this place worth a visit!

Great latte — strong coffee and thick foam. We also had the pan au chocolat, which was delicious. Our coffees came with candy — either a Fazer chocolate or a Geisha chocolate. Nice touch! We were there on a weekday morning, 9:30, so it was almost empty. Nice to not be crowded. I like that there are different small rooms, not just one open cafeteria. Also, there are Greek items for sale and signs in Greek, but it’s not kitschy with stereotypical Greek music playing or décor. Tastefully decorated, good coffee, big beautiful windows… I would definitely go there again.

Great place for sandwiches and coffee. Everything is freshly made to order and tastes awesome. Been coming here for years and just polished off a sandwich for lunch.

Good quality and tasty food. The atmosphere is very nice, as well as the staff’s attention. Not cheap for a sandwich, but comparing to the rest of Helsinki the value for money is good. Plus they have real coffee!

Gran Delicato is a must if you like sandwiches. They’re made extra fresh on ciabatta and you can tell by the taste of the ingredients. My first sandwich was so good that I got another one ten minutes later. The atmosphere is casual; you order at the counter and they bring your sandwiches and coffee to your table. The restaurant has a nice, coffee-shop vibe to it and I noticed lots of different people just chilling out here, using their laptops or reading. My only gripe is that they forgot about my second order and I had to remind them. I tried to go again on my last day in Helsinki but they were closed(Sunday). If I’m ever back in Helsinki I will absolutely visit Gran Delicato again.

Best sandwiches in town! This corner coffee shop is lovely and serves excellent food and coffee. The service is… unique. Vigorous and effective rather than friendly, but for some odd reason it suits the place. Their sandwiches are fantastic! The choices are endless and all ingredients are fresh and yummy. All sandwiches are made to order so no need to fear for a soggy bread roll. Also their coffee is of good quality and so are their salads that are popular among the hungry businessmen and –women who come here for lunch. I like to come here for a late breakfast or brunch, or to just grab a sandwich on the go when in a hurry.

Best coffee in town, hands down.

Their food is lovely and simple and made with fresh, delicious ingredients. I am really unhappy, however, that even with a panini maker right behind the counter, they refuse to heat up a regular baguette sandwich unless you want to pay € 4 extra. That would make a baguette with tomato and arugula and mozzarella € 13, or around $ 17USD. With no side, no table service, no nothing. Gran Delicato, I’d give you 5 stars if you simply learned the golden rule: the customer is always right, particularly when it comes to simple requests. And if you would learn the second golden rule: don’t fuck with a pregnant woman at lunch time who hasn’t had breakfast. Seriously. It doesn’t cost 4 euros to press a sandwich in a panini machine for 2 minutes.

I love this place. It has such a great vibe to it. The food menu isn’t that large, it’s 80% sandwiches(baguettes and ciabattas and paninis), 20% salads. The coffee is decent. As are the cakes and buns. Most importantly it’s a happy place to be in; pity there’s no wifi, although the listing here says it does.

Do you want to try really good sandwiches? Then go to Gran Delicato. Here you find the probably best ones in town. With fresh incidences and clever combinations they make eating a sandwich an experience. You can choose between baguette and chiabatta bread. And don’t be disappointed when the sandwich they serve you looks a bit small at first. It’s really filling. And really good! The sandwiches start from 6 Euros. You can get them at the original place on Kalevankatu in Kamppi. It is decorated in Greek style and here the owner still serves the customers himself. Recently they also opened a second place in Kämp Gallery. The interior is a bit more modern and stylish here. This place is perfect for fetching a take away sandwich before sitting down outside in Esplanadi Park for a small delicious picnic.
