One of my favorite activities is to watch old films from the silver screen and that is where Orion comes in. I love everything about this little gem of a movie theater. The selection of films is amazing and the people who go here are great. Nobody ever talks during the films since there is this wonderful collective respect towards everyone. We are there for the films — not to talk! I highly recommend this to all movie lovers — it’s a must!

I love this place. The film archive curates their selections, the theater is an absolute treasure of architecture, and there’s a bit of a regular crowd feel. We regularly plan months in advance to catch some of their selections!

What a treasure! Beautiful place and a very well thought out film selection with high variety. Love the brochures you can take home. I go through mine and highlight all the movies I want to see. A great place for a date just bring your own snacks as there aren’t any concessions. My only complaint is there is no wheelchair access. My husband is a big movie lover but in an electric chair and they haven’t any ramps for him.

This is not a multiplex. They do not sell pop corn. They do not have any Dancing games in the lobby. This is a film theatre and it is about movies.
Orion is a film theatre owned by finnish film archives. So it is not commercial cinema but cinema for true film lovers. Check the programme from the website.
Usually there are lot of classics scheduled and maybe some new stuff from lesser known film countries. Almost every season there is also a great selection of cult films shown: giallo, spaghetti, horror etc.
