Splendid Hotel & Spa

découvert lors d un séminaire, j ai adoré le roof top de l hôtel. il surplombe toute la ville et le panorama est superbe. rien que pour ça je lui mets un 4 étoiles.
en tant que client, vous pouvez en profiter pour faire un petit plongeon dans la piscine. vu qu elle n est pas très grande (je dirai approximativement 8 mètres sur 3) et que le nombre de transats est limité, je vous conseille d arriver «tôt» pour avoir une place au soleil.
sinon vous pouvez choisir de vous mettre à l ombré sur l une des banquettes, et siroter un cocktail. le bar est juste à côté, à l intérieur de l hôtel.
il y a encore un autre niveau, plus petit, au dessus de la piscine, où vous pouvez prendre un bain de soleil (mais on né s y est pas risqué, sous peine d insolation).
l hôtel dispose aussi d un spa mais je n y suis pas allée.
les chambres sont tout à fait correctes, mais ça a beau être un 4 étoiles, elles manquent de charme je trouve. c est clair qu on est dans l hôtellerie de masse.
concernant la restauration, on a eu droit à un buffet, mais je pense qu en tant que clients «normaux», il y a probablement une carte. ce n était pas de la grande cuisine mais c était pas mal.
je né sais pas si je vous le conseillerai en tant qu hôtel, mais allez y pour y boire un verre et profiter de la vue !

Great location, nice accomodations. Beds are small but typical european style. 5 minute walk to the promenade des anglais and the water. Nice is beautiful, with wonderful seafood, beautiful scenery and so close to monaco (which is a must see.)

We stayed in the hotel May 2015. The staff was very nice and the lobby was remodeled and nice.
Pro:
1. The location was perfect. Just a couple blocks from the Promenade and the streets with restaurants and shops.
2. The top floor has a nice pool and bar with great views of the sea and the surrounding buildings.
3. Breakfast was good and on the top floor so one got a great view while planning the day’s activities.
Con:
1. The staff when asked about the airport bus shuttle location was great at telling us in English how to get to it. They did not tell us that the bus shuttle was and had been on strike for several days. This is something they should know especially since any news of this would have been in French not English on local TV or newspapers.
2. The TV though HD was small and off to the side of the bedroom and thus making it hard to watch while seated on the bed. Also the location was such that the door to the rooms’ hall would block the view when open.
3. All the bathroom fixtures were definitely from the 50s. Though quaint they did need updating.
4. Outlets were limited and hard to find for charging phones, cameras, computers etc

I will agree with Addison C. The rooms get two stars and the hotel 4 stars for the location.

Nous avons pris cette hôtel pour un petit week-​end à Nice, et les photos du site Internet sur des chambres deluxes, propres et rénovées aves une belle vue et un balcon nous avait donné envie. Sauf qu’après un accueil cordial, nous avons découvert une chambre famille avec 2 lits, sans balcon, pas rénovée, sans vue… Ma demande d’une vraie chambre deluxe a été froidement rejeté. J’ajoute que notre réservation a été faite en direct sur le site internet, sans intermédiaire. Le seul point positif a été le petit déjeuner, avec un personnel souriant, et sa belle vue.

The splendid is an interesting and clean hotel. We came to nice at the end of the tourist season in October. Check in was easy and the desk friendly. The terrace on the roof attached to the restaurant and bar was pretty and afforded a great view of all of Nice.
Our room was a bit on the small side and had two twin beds. On the upside it was clean while we were there.
Both the hotel and the rooms felt dated with much of the décor from the late 80s early 90s. In all I’d put the rooms at 2 – 3 star, the hotel at 4.
If have liked to have tried out the spa but it was pricy except for the 50% off happy hour, and we were out during the day.

Das Splendid Hotel & Spa hat 4 Sterne, die es vor ein para Jahren vielleicht auch verdient hat. Leider ist es etwas in die Jahre gekommen (wie so viel in Nizza). Das Zimmer was ganz ok, das Bad etwas spährlich ausgestattet. Grosse Pluspunkt dieses Hotel ist die Dachterrasse, auf der auch gefrühstückt wird: eine grandiose Aussicht, Chill-​Out Sofas, Pool… wirklich schön. Wir haben 190 EUR/​Zimmer für 2 inkl. Frühstück gezahlt, was für Nizza nicht viel ist. Daher darf man sich eigentlich nicht beschweren…

Splendid is splendid, comme c’est splendide !
D’un style plutôt classique et très prisé par les séniors, le Splendid est une référence dans les hôtels 4 étoiles à Nice. L’ouverture d’un spa dont l’accès se situe avenue Victor Hugo à donné un «coup de jeune» à l’établissement. Un spa que je vous recommande pour l’excellent rapport qualité/​prix des prestations et surtout l’accueil aux pommes que vous réserve l’équipe de Charlotte, la sympathique Directrice.
