Tiny glitz-free frontage on a grim stretch of Parmentier north of Oberkampf’s busy bar strip. Popped in at lunchtime on a Saturday for a bowl of phở and found this 20-seater immaculately clean and filled with locals, me excepted. My phở had the most intense yet best-balanced broth of any I’ve ever eaten. Not sure if the rice noodles were less chewy and rougher-textured than usual due to being overcooked, or due to being made fresh. Was afraid to ask if they roll their own, lest it be misinterpreted. But over all, a delicious bowl. Service was courteous, quick, efficient, and very low-key. Prices were appropriate to the venue. Restroom was clean, modern, and fully functional. Would definitely eat there again, if in the neighborhood.
