Hôtel des Ducs d’Anjou

This is a glorified bed and breakfast, I don’t know why it has 4 stars. The breakfast alone is $ 17 euros per person, that’s a rip off! You can get a decent breakfast outside the hotel. In terms of the rooms, they are small and clean, but they don’t have a safety deposit box. One day, they didn’t clean my in laws’ room because the housekeeping shifts ended. And then, they only offered free coffee in the mornings for only ONE DAY. Really?!
The staff tried its best to make the best out of this experience, specially Florence. But still, it was not as nice as we thought it would be. One good thing about the hotel is the location. Oh! And if you want to avoid the noise, do not stay in the rooms facing the street, they are super noisy.

Encore un hôtel testé dans le cadre de déplacements pro. Quand je suis sur Paris, il me faut des hôtels qui soient proches des grands axes de communication métro/​train dans la mesure où j’ai tendance à vite détester cette ville dès que je suis confronté à ses transports publics trop longtemps.
Et c’est bien dommage parce que c’est une belle ville.
Du coup mon agence de voyage a réservé sur la base du fait que c’était proche du châtelet.
Et ça a été une très bonne surprise. La chambre est spacieuse selon les standards parisiens, c’est pas plus cher qu’ailleurs et le service y est plutôt agréable sans être obséquieux.
Qui plus est le fait d’être placé autant au centre met tout Paris à moins de 30 minutes, ce qui est aussi un plus non négligeable.
Donc j’ai trouvé mon nouvel hôtel parisien je pense !

About the only thing this hotel has going for it is location. It’s just steps from the Metro and a ten-​minute walk to the Left Bank and the Louvre. That’s also why it costs as much as it does. Well that, and the fact that Paris is expensive anyway. The bed was small (by British standards, definitely by American standards), and our room looked out into the alcove containing the sky light and spiral staircase presumably used as a fire escape. This meant there was no ventilation when the window was open, and there was an awful echo from floor-​to-​floor even when speaking in a normal conversational tone. They advertise that every room is air conditioned, but after managing to turn it on once, it never worked again. I’m glad we weren’t paying for this one! Will look elsewhere in the future.

Un edificio antiguo cuidadosamente remodelado, con vistas a la place Ste-​Opportune, en el centro de Les Halles. Habitaciones sencillas, pero cuidadas, y un servicio impecable.
