How to Become Parisian in One Hour ?

The funniest show in Paris for tourists and Parisians as much. I went to see the show with a few friends from Paris and from abroad and we had a ball. Olivier Giraud is an outstanding comedian and entertainer and grasps all the subtleties of cross-​cultural differences!

Loved the show… was very funny and I highly recommend it to any adult visiting Paris (not for kids!). It was a very diverse crowd of people and not boring at all. I traveled by myself and couldn’t ask for a happier Saturday night!

This was a great show to see our last day on a 4-​day trip to Paris. Since it was in English, I expected it to have a large American tourist crowd (like me). However, the crowd was very diverse with plenty of locals in the mix. However, a lot of the humor was definitely directed at the Americans in the audience.
Had some wine before the show because drinking seemed like it should be obligatory for something like this: bad idea. The wine was overpriced and tasted like feet. Have you ever drunk feet? Well, I think I have now. Also, be prepared for very small seats. Good thing the show was amazing.
I recommend seeing it toward the end of your trip like I did because then you’ll have all the appropriate experiences (shopping, riding the metro, etc) and it will be funnier that way. I purchased the DVD afterward but haven’t been able to watch it yet. I’ll update my review once I get the chance.

Interesting show. When Olivier starts, you’re a bit confused. It’s not a straight American stand up comedy but he gradually starts interacting with the audience, brings some physical humor to the show and about 20 mins into the show, you’re bent over laughing.
Honestly it’s not mind blowing material but Olivier provides an awesome show. We went to the 6pm (first) show, and I’d recommend it.
The show was packed with ~400 people; he went past the hour, gave good shout-​outs to the audience memebers, a background on how he grew the show (I think we were his 722’nd show) and some upcoming events.
Added plus — he stayed after the show for an additional 30 mins to chat with the audience; a real old school performance, good dude. Highly Recommend, even though it could get a bit uncomfortable with a ‘family’, i.e. sitting next to your Mom might be odd for a few mins.

Funny show! Loved the comedian! Very funny and I would recommend it to anyone who is a tourist or from America. The comedian is also very interactive with the audience (hint: audience participation is a must). My French family members also found it hilarious, and they were the ones that recommended the show! If you have time check this out. I recommended this show to several of my American friends who were going to be in France for the summer.
I even met the comedian after the show and got a picture with him! Oh La La!

Super funny! I took my dad who was visiting Paris for the second time and he loved it (he doesn’t speak a word of french). The crowd was totally mixed, english, american, india, blah… but french speakers and Parisians will love the show just as much (the comedian makes sure to give them some jokes as well, it isn’t all about making fun of tourists or frenchies — it is a fair trade between the two).
I would recommend this to anyone — honestly, lovers or haters of the land of the frogs.

This was one of the top listed things to do in Paris. It was a fun experience, but I must have been missing something.
Comedian talked for an hour about the differences between the Parisians and other cultures (mostly American). Some of it was funny, some of it was raunchy, some of it entertaining. If you go, you will have a good time. It is just not one of top 10 things to do while in Paris France.

Ce spectacle est absolument hilarant.
Olivier Giraud a de l’énergie à revendre et son spectacle reflète avec justesse les petits détails comiques qui agrémentent la vie des Parisiens: les serveurs, les taxis, le métro, les vendeurs … Et toutes ces petites manies dans lesquelles on est bien obligé de se reconnaître ! Mais les autres, les Américains notamment («Oh my GOD !») en prennent aussi un peu pour leur grade, sans pour autant que l’humoriste tombe jamais dans la facilité.
D’autant plus rafraîchissant que l’audience est très cosmopolite et que règne une atmosphère bon enfant. À noter que le spectacle est en anglais donc il faut être un minimum à l’aise pour tout comprendre.
Une heure de rire quasi continu pour tourner un peu en dérision notre quotidien de râleurs … Cela né se refuse pas !

Ich habe mich gefreut, ein Stück Kultur in Paris zu finden, die für uns noch-​nicht-​französisch-​sprechende accessible ist.
Die Tickets habe ich einfach über billetreduc gekauft. Mit Kreditkarte einfach und schmerzfrei.
Es wird absolut nicht empfohlen, mit dem Auto hinzufahren. Es gibt aber ein Parkhaus, zwei Straßen vor dem Theater. Wer sich also im Voraus informiert, entscheidet sich vielleicht doch dafür.
Olivier Giraud stellt in eine Stunde vor, wie sich ein Pariser benimmt, und wie sich wir Touristen benehmen, in den Augen der Pariser. Wie ein Bekannter von mir gemeint hat (der unabhängig von mir sich das Stück angeguckt hat): dieser Show könnte man in jeder Großstadt abziehen.
Ja, vielleicht schon. Olivier kommt ja demnächst mit seiner Show in einer Reihe große Städte.
Allerdings habe ich ein Einwand: den Teil mit den Taxis. Genau die Reaktion, die Olivier auf der Bühne zeigt, habe ich live in Paris gesehen in der echten Welt. Und so eine Reaktion habe ich nirgends anders gesehen.
Am besten fand ich das Mitmach-​Element. Wir mussten mitsprechen, wiederholen und etwas lernen und erzählen wo wir alle herkamen. Zwei Freiwillige (naja) dürften sogar auf der Bühne tanzen (guess who.) und ein Test absolvieren.
Ich bin mit einem Lachen im Gesicht und ein paar Gedanken im Kopf aus dem Theater gegangen. Wenn er sich etwas Neues ausdenkt, möchte ich es mir gern anschauen.
Wer Paris also das erste Mal besucht: diese Show wird empfohlen, und zeigt Dir, wie Du in Paris überleben als Einheimischer wahrgenommen wirst :-)

Ein gutes Programm, das es sich lohnt zu sehen. Alle Nationalitäten werden mit viel Charme und Treffsicherheit durch den Kakao gezogen allen voran die Pariser.
In dem netten, kleinen Theater ist man gut organisert und die Preise sind fair für die Leistung.
Demnächst ändert der Darsteller der One-​Man-​Show sein Programm ab bzw. erweitert es um weitere Kategorien, in denen Pariser mit Touristen verglichen werden. Dann muss ich unbedingt noch mal hin!

J’ai été voir Olivier Giraud 2 fois, c’est un vrai phénomèné! Il est assez extrême dans ses propos, ca fait beaucoup réagir (positivement) le public, il nous a fait participer… le show est vraiment vivant, enrichissant (car il y a plein de choses qu’on né remarque pas à Paris quand on est parisien), et étonnant. Comme il le dit, on se souvient de lui à plusieurs moments après la pièce. Je recommande beaucoup à tous ceux qui connaissent des notions d’anglais (son anglais est vraiment simple à comprendre). Bön par contre, ce n’est pas la peine de le voir 2 fois comme moi, il devient assez prévisible après :)

I got a chance to see this show and this is simply the most entertaining thing I’ve done in Paris in a while!!! This great actor makes fun of all the parisian, in a hilarious way!
My english is not great but the show is very easy to understand and everyone was laughing in the theater. definitly a must do! It worth every euro of the price, and I really can’t wait to see it again with other friends.
In addition the theater is really nice, you can buy a drink at the bar as you watch the show, it was a really nice moment.

Mercredi dernier, je suis allée voir le spectacle How to become parisian in one hour au théâtre de la main d’or, 15 passage de la main d’or, 75 011 Paris. C’est un spectacle 100% en anglais facile à comprendre, une caricature Parisienne-​américaine parfaitement drôle mais 100% vrai. Le jeune acteur Olivier Giraud est excellent par son talent d’imitation et d’interaction avec le public. Mes amis et moi ont plié en deux de rire tout au long de la soirée. Nous étions absorbés par le spectacle et nous avons crié, chanté avec l’acteur comme si c’était vrai! C’était très vivant et très conviviale. J’ai passé une excellente soirée, légère et amusante avec les amis.
Il faut dire quand-​même qu’il y a un peu de vulgarité dans certaines parties.
Attention, si vous vous mettez au premier rang, vous avez une forte possibilité d’être invité à monter sur la scèné. Peut-​être c’est une occasion de montrer votre talent théâtral. Nous avons également régalé avec une spectatrice jouer sur scèné comme une professionnelle expérimenté et talentueuse.
