One big disappointment: the salespersons gave a couple of free chocolates to the 4 people in front of us to try, but didn’t offer us anything, even though we bought more than the group before us. That’s the kind of small things that would prevent me to go there again. Chocolates are OK but not the best around(€ 11 for 9 squares). The silver boxes are really pretty though, so it is a good place for present shopping. Go try their pates de fruits instead — those are truly amazing, especially mango, pineapple and raspberry(€ 12 for 12 chunks). They also do veggie versions(beetroot and bell pepper when I went), but those are just eccentric, not delicious as the fruit versions are. Last thing: the boutique is really nice, and way less crowded than their Marais one.

If you’re in Paris, you should, without a doubt, make it on your list to get some caramels and/or chocolates from Jacques Genin. They are so good that I came here on both my trips and will continue to make my way back whenever I’m in Paris. The caramels are to die for!!! I devoured them before I got to take a picture of what I got. The mango passion is said to be the most popular one but it isn’t my favorite. I prefer the ones with nuts. The caramels are soft and silky. They literally melt in your mouth. I am also a big fan of their chocolates. For 9 pieces, I think it’s € 11. I don’t think that’s too bad considering they are wayyyyy better than Godiva’s. I don’t remember what flavors I got, but I got mostly dark chocolate ones. I didn’t get anything that was out of the ordinary like the ones with spices or herbs. There’s also this baton shaped chocolate with peanuts by the caramels counter that is my absolute favorite!

I passed by on my way to another bakery but I saw the amazing displays of chocolates and had to go in. I had heard his pâté de fruit was incredible so I got a box. It’s pricey but they’re AMAZING. The packaging came in this pretty metal box. Also had to check out the chocolates since he’s a chocolatier, they were great but not as good as the jellies!
