carte minimaliste et prix astronomiques, il y a mieux ailleurs dans cette gamme de prix, bref passable, trois étoile uniquement pour la qualité de la cave à vin…

This is a great little restaurant up the street from the Marriott Rive Gauche. The owner was gracious and helpful. I had pigeon for the first time ever! It was excellent. I wasn’t site what to expect but the fall meat was rich and not gamey at all. Next time I’m in Paris in definitely stopping in.

What a treat to have discovered this little gem near the apartment we are staying in. It’s a tiny place and a wonderful Paris bistro experience. We were the first ones to arrive and were met with an enthusiastic greeting by the owner. He was very warm to our five-year-old and even more delighted upon learning she speaks French. Our starters of onion tart and smoked salmon were delicious and went well with the white wine pairings suggested. My husband’s turbot was well prepared, while my pigeon with foie gras sauce was stellar. Our daughter gave her beef tartare a thumbs up along with crispy potatoes and salad. Again, we were happy with the wine pairings. Most impressive was the fact all glasses were in the 6 € — 8 € range — the owner was given free range so we could have spent way, way more. All in all, this is a cozy place backed by people who truly care about what they do. We will return!

On a rainy day I stopped by as it was near my hotel and was enticed by the menu, as in hadn’t checked any revues or anything. What a surprise, a jewel in service and food. The owner was tres genteel, guided us to the wine that would match the palette created by what we had ordered, pigeon breast cooked to perfection. Both the meal and wine were just fantastic, the ambiance with only 3 tables full was very Persian with the owner being a fantastic host. Here is the thing, It was so good that we went the next day, and this time the place was full and the owner equally welcoming guiding us whether we were in a rush or were open to gently stepping up to our meal with a glass of wine and absorbing the warm evening. I have no doubt thermal will be equally wonderful experience and delicious to my palette. You know what we did to start the new experience of this evenings meal …

I stopped here twice on my recent trip to Paris. Both times were wonderful. It is exactly what a small Bistro in Paris should be. Small number of tables. The owner waiting on you. The wife doing the cooking. About 12 tables total. The menu changes every day. They write it on a chalkboard. I had the Scallops as appetizer both days it and was to die for. The first dinner was the Vou Lou or something like that. It’s a traditional French pastry with a mushroom sauce on it. Loved it. On the second visit I had the steak. Perfectly cooked with wonderful potatoes and small salad. An awesome experience. What’s marvelous about this place is that they discourage you from ordering wine. Instead you pack your dinner and they choose a wine for you. I was amazed. I have never in my 58 years of life tasted wine so perfectly matched to my meal. He choose the perfect Chablis to match my Scallops and a wonderful red wine to go with my steak. If you go here let the owner pick your wine. I wanted to try to Crème Brulee for dessert again but the owner told me that they didn’t have the ingredients right now for the traditional Crème Brulee that I would be expecting. Instead he suggested the strawberry pie which wasn’t a pie but a double baked pastry with strawberries and whipped cream. My lack of French skills was not a problem. The menu is not inexpensive and the location is not near the tourist attractions but for a wonderful dining experience in Paris you must try this place.

In your mind you have an idea of what a small(6 table) bistro in Paris should look like. It’s menu changes each day based on what the owner finds at the market. Quaint without being shabby, tolerant of an American trying to speak French, classic French cuisine presentation with spectacular flavor and wine suggestions that encourage you to explore but not break the bank. It’s place where on one hand you want to tell people of your hidden discovery but you grapple with keeping it a secret lest it lose the quaintness. This is that restaurant. We stopped in and asked if we needed a reservation and we’re graciously accommodated(not always true in Paris). The owner apologized for his English(perfect by the way) and he walked us thru his small menu and described his ideas on what our wine pairing could focus on(nothing astringent with the cream-based seafood soup but strong floral notes without being too sweet). 6 in our party and everyone was impressed and raving about their entrée. Great location, wonderful food, super wine and gracious host. Why can’t every place be like this?

Delicious meal on rainy Parisian night. The lamb shanks were delicious and hubby was especially fond of onion pie. Charming owner gave great wine recommendation to go with our meal.

Great breakfast options close to our hotel. We stayed at the Marriot just down the street and the bread, fruit and coffee was just great and for a really reasonable price. Just what we were looking for.

We stayed just down the street at the Marriott Rive Gauche. This restaurant was only a short walk from the hotel. It is owned and operated by a couple, both chefs. He waits on the patrons while she prepares the food. Actually, he cooks all day to prepare the food that can be readied before opening in the evening. We thouroughly enjoyed our meals-ate here two nights. You won’t be disappointed if you are looking for authentic, French cuisine. Enjoy!

Our last night in Paris we were looking for a quiet place close to the Marriott. The owner provided great service and his wife did the cooking. Sometimes she plays owner and he cooks… The scallops were done perfectly. The lamb shank was delicious, my wife had the steak which was done to her liking. The owner picked a nice wine for us to drink and the homemade crème brûlée was excellent. Would highly recommend…
