L’Alsacien

So delicious! We had the muenster and one of their specials. The flammekeuches are incredibly easy to eat, with a base of a thin, tasty pastry crust, crème fraische and cheese. You can’t go wrong here. Incredibly polite and friendly service as well. Would come back again, for sure!

Mis à part l’ambiance très bruyante et bien serrée, un sans faute pour ce petit restaurant bien sympa, service adorable et efficace.
Les flamenkuche sont très bonnes et variée, la bière de noël était un régal !
J’y retournerai avec plaisir, j’aurais juste comme suggestion d’améliorer les propriétés phoniques des parois afin de baisser le niveau sonore de la salle :)

J’ai par deux fois eu l’occasion d’aller à l’alsacien et ces deux fois, je n’ai pas été déçue.
Des serveurs très agréables, serviables, qui nous ont montré comment se servir des tireuses encore et encore sans rire de nous, avec des flam’ au top, agrémenté de conseils de leur part.
A la fin, une addition plus que raisonnable. Top comme endroit quoi !

C est un endroit qui manquait à paris. Ça faisait longtemps que je cherchais une alternative au oneil de rue des canettes qui est pas franchement alsacien mais qui fait de bonnes flam.
On se projette bien à Strasbourg avec ses flam (délicieuses franchement) accompagnée de sa salade, ses bières fisher et ses vins régionaux.
Service au top et cuisine ouverte.
Bref j y reviendrai.

Let’s get to the point,
This was great:
* Delicious and typical Tartes Flambées (the best I ate in Paris),
* Great beers: Tartes Flambées + Fischer is the magic combo :),
* The serving system is quite amusing (you got a beeper for getting your Tarte when ready).
This could be improved:
* The place could be a little bit cheaper (~10 € for a Tartes),
* Maybe not the perfect place for group: I went there in a group of 16 and the cook was overwhelmed.
To sum up: Coming myself from the France area where the Tartes Flambées are the specialty, I can tell this place is the best one in Paris for enjoying them. With the «gratinée», you can’t go wrong.

Amazing food really good amazing service very cozy the price is great the wine is good definitely very recommended the best the dessert a real treat. The chef is Alsacian his parents had always had a restaurant there and now he decided to do the same in Paris I will be coming back next time I am in Paris.

Enfin de bonnes tartes flambées à Paris pour les alsaciens en manqué des saveurs du pays (et pour les autres bien évidemment !) ! L’Alsacien est idéalement placé à 2 pas de l’Hôtel de Ville. A la carte: simplicité et efficacité en proposant quelques entrées et essentiellement des tartes flambées à des prix tout à fait corrects. Nous y retrouvons les tartes flambées traditionnelles (classique, munster, champignons…) mais aussi des recettes plus originales qui varient selon les saisons.
La garniture de la tarte est vraiment bonne, la carte des vins de qualité, l’équipe très sympathique et la déco mêle subtilement tradition et modernité. Petit bémol: la tarte n’est pas cuite au feu de bois, on né retrouve donc pas complètement les saveurs de la vraie tarte flambée alsacienne… Néanmoins, on s’y sent «comme à la maison» et j’ai hâte d’y faire découvrir les tartes flambées à mes amis non alsaciens !

— La vinaigrette de la salade est au Melfort (oui, oui, comme au pays je vous dis)

This place is so tasty, so very tasty!
It’s a small place, but the food is amazing, the wine is quite good (1L bottles!) and the service is excellent.
This is also really ‘foreigner friendly’ food — it’s basically thin crust pizza, but totally French. Very yummy.

This is an amazing Flammekueche (kind of like pizza but with delicious flakey crust and crime fraiche base. It’s AMAZING. I mean just oh so good. Get the Munster which is the traditional (crème fraîche, cheese, onions, and bacon) but with Munster cheese on top! The best I tell ya.
The place is kind of small but good amount of seats and wonderful atmosphere. Staff is some of the friendliest of my visit and speak great English if that’s important. Their Fischer beer is also delicious and not easily found elsewhere in the city.

Place is seriously good. Tucked away from the hustle and the bustle, you can relax and unexpectedly spend your entire night here with both good company and great food.
Recommend this place very strongly, staff were extremely friendly and the food is excellent.

Super restaurant récemment ouvert à Paris! Très convivial, une sorte de bar à flammekueches! La forestières est très bonne! On a également gouté une création du jour à base de filet mignon, assez surprenante mais très bonne aussi. Le service est impeccable, on s’u sent bien! Faut y aller!

Testé un jeudi soir.
On commence par une pinte de Fischer. On enchaîné sur une première Flammekueche partagée entre amis. Puis une bouteille de Riesling, là aussi partagée. Nouvelle Flammekueche. Nouvelle tournée de vin. Flammekueche dessert.
Bref, on repart 3h plus tard le ventre plein et l’esprit un peu moins clair, contents d’avoir partagé à manger et à boire entre potes.
Après enquête, le lieu a ouvert en octobre 2014 avec l’intention de recréer du partage autour d’un verre. Autant dire que c’est réussi.
Comptez 6 € pour une pinte, 10 – 12 € pour une flammekueche… Niveau flammekueche, il y a de quoi faire: avec ou sans fromage, avec ou sans lardons, salé ou sucré…
Recommandé pour toute première partie de soirée entre amis.

So, I tell my better half that I want to try this Alsatian bar that I pass by to get to my most frequent parking station for my Vélib (that’s free French bike for those not in the know). It’s never open in the mornings but I’ve seen it as it opens up, looking bright but with cosy decoration, both modern and homey, as if you’re hanging around in a friend’s kitchen, but one that is new and stylish. I tell him it’s a pizza restaurant, based on an image I saw on the web.
But I’m completely wrong. L’Alsacien specialises in flammekueche, a specialty of the Alsace region, also known as a Tarte flambée. It does have a passing resemblance to a pizza, but is a bread dough rolled out very thinly, and then covered not with a tomato base but with crème fraiche and other toppings. Wikipedia tells me the dish was only made at home until the 1960s when pizzas became popular, and it moved into restaurants (there seem to be a few in Paris from Alsace) and now L’Alsacien says they are the first flammekueche bar.
I thought it was absolutely sensational. Crisp, hot, savoury and delicious. I love discovering new dishes! The service, by the way, was nice as can be.
