Came in here on a whim as the place looked pretty cool inside. Weren’t planning on an extravagant meal. Went with some house wine, a baguette sandwich with meat and pickles, was simple and good, and a banana split, French style which was also good. Everything tasted fresh and the service was good.

Very nice waiters. They speak English. The best French onion soup(soupe a l’onion gratiné) I’ve ever had(not too salty and just enough cheese!). The best hot chocolate ever including Angelina’s!

Décor and ambiance classical French bistro(to this American). A little tight for seating but normal by local standards. On this Monday afternoon, we did well to get in early. This is a favorite of locals judging by the crazy long line that has formed while I write this.(They are not tourists for the most part.) Great spot for watching people as well as a lunch or dinner. For my lunch, the ribeye was great. 14 € and about 1cm+ thick, well marbled with fat, and prepared as requested — medium rare. The potatoes done very well. For my wife, the onion soup topped with cheese and bread presented well but was perhaps not made from scratch on site. Her 10 € ham and cheese sandwich presented well –topped with melted mozzarella cheese. As ham sandwiches go, quite nice. Service was fine. Especially given the rush hour crowd. Recommended if you get in early. Otherwise, watch wantonly as those who have enjoy their meal…

Solid, classic French bistro brunch experience. Great omelet, croque Madame, cappuccino and café crème. Attentive polite waiters. Will go again.

Lugar agitado e sempre cheio. Bom custo beneficio.

Whilst the initial service was good and good is average, we had a pair of sunglasses stolen from our table. There were only two waiters who visited our table which was in a corner, so no one else got close to us. We only noticed the pair went missing on our way out. Very disappointing. Don’t visit this place.

Great place to unwind with a nice espresso & baguette and jams before taking the metro(Odeon). This is a great spot for people watching. I tried the mixed omelet with the salade and it was nice it really hit the spot. The coffee is right on.

It was pretty good, considering I didn’t really know what to order. It was busy but not packed, plus they had menus in English. I ordered a 2-item menu with a duck confit which was quite moist and well-balanced. Quite good. My wife ordered just an onion soup which was just okay. Dessert was some kind of cake that was not too memorable. Hence, I don’t remember it. Service was quick and friendly, and they were very cordial to those of us(several parties) who didn’t speak French. We sat next to a British gentleman who was having an omelette and also didn’t speak French. They were very helpful and patient with him as well, so overall, a good rating for this place.

Overall my food experience in Paris was disappointing. I think a big part of that is the lack of Unilocal reviews to help guide me. Anyways, this place was pretty me. I had a steak with onion gravy. The onion gravy was excellent. Unfortunately the steak was so tough that it was almost inedible. I had to chew and chew and chew just to break it down a little. My wife had a croque monsuier. According to her it did nothing to stand out. Unless you are rushed for time or money, do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere.

An unpretentious little brasserie in one of the most god-awfully touristy neighborhoods I’ve ever walked through. Cheap prices. Small but tasty bavette aux échalotes in an excellent light sauce, edible green salad dressed with restraint, decent wines by the glass at guzzlabe rates. They get the fourth star for the potatoes they served with the steak. They weren’t frites; they were slices of boiled new potato, pan-fried, logging-camp style. I’ve only rarely seen these in North American restaurants, and while I don’t know if they’re authentically France-French, my Québecois family has been eating potatoes done that way for years, and we know a thing or two about them. Danton’s were better than mine. Hell, they were better than my mother’s. I’d go back there just to eat those potatoes, if the neighborhood didn’t give me such a bad case of the hives.

ENDROITEVITERDON’T GO

The service was great! The food was way below average. I sent back the Onion Soup because it was the absolute worst I’ve ever had. Soggy disgusting, flavorless, watery mess of a dish. The steak was a cheap piece of fat. It’s only redeeming quality is the location. Oh and maybe this is French but they did not remove the soup from the bill.

Great spot for a breakfast before heading on the metro, as the metro entrance is just steps away. Friendly service, good coffee. This place is *packed* on the weekend for dinner.

Fast, fast, fast! If you’re in a rush, or simply want to experience the daytime hustle and bustle, then this is the place to go. We were looking for a breakfast spot to sit and relax early on a weekday morning. Le Danton seemed to fit the bill… and it did, except for the relaxing part. Our breakfast was good. Nothing mind blowing, but everything was hot and fresh. I had an omelet with herbs and my husband had croque madame. Our server was efficient and it looked like he was always one step ahead of all his customers. I don’t know how these servers do it, but they seem to read everyone’s mind and know exactly what their customers want and when they want it. Either that or they are trying to rush people out – it could go either way. We came back a few days later for an espresso at the bar and I nearly got knocked over two different times. Everything is just on high speed here, so watch your back and keep it moving.

Service was good even though we were there during the lunch rush. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. I ordered the Croque-Mademoiselle. OMG it was sooooooooo yummy! Now that I am back in the states I want to try and re-create this dish. The dish certainly satisfied my craving that morning. :o)

Moi, j’aime bien.

Came by for breakfast on our way to the Odeon Metro station. Service: We were seated quickly and had a funny waiter who spoke some Franglish to us but was kind about us not understanding his incredibly fast speech. They were a bit busy so things were a tad slow coming and even waiting to pay the bill. Food: Croissants were basically the worst I have had in Paris. Not only were they not good, they were actively bad. The eggs I got were bland and lifeless. My girlfriend said her«mademoiselle» sandwhich was not bad. The coffee was plain Lavazaa. Orange juice was fine and fresh but the portion was very small. If you are looking to stop somewhere for a nice breakfast, this is not a place I would recommend. I can’t speak for the quality of the bar or dinner menus.
