This is the first place we ate at while traveling in Paris and I have to say we experienced some of the best service and hospitality I have ever had, both abroad and stateside. It was a few blocks down from where we stayed and tempted us with free wifi; little did we know we were in for a real treat. We liked that they served breakfast all day and that they offered a full meal with that(salad + fries on the side) so we walked on in. Since it is a brasserie,(French for«brewery») they are stocked with a full bar and a kitchen. We were seated inside and what I referred to as a cute Parisian grandma was our server. It didn’t matter that only one person in our party spoke French, she took our orders with no issue at all, cracking jokes along the way which we were able to understand and kept things light. I ordered an omelette w/jambon + fromage. The food was alright, it was my first time having an omelette in Paris so I had nothing to compare it to, but it was nothing special. It tasted sort of bland actually. The small vinaigrette salad on the side was pretty delicious though and fries dipped in mayo(they do that in Europe and it totally beats our boring old ketchup in the US) were on point. There was a minor mixup with the 3 omelettes that came out, I can’t remember specifically what happened, but they took care of everything right away. Overall, the food was decent but the wide variety and service they offer would have me coming back if I ever found myself in that part of Paris again. Thank you to that cute little Parisian grandma for making my first real interaction with French people a great one and putting to rest any preconceived notions. You are a gem! Le sigh, I really miss Paris.
