My wife and I dined here on our last night in Paris. We ordered the«gourmet» six course meal. Each course was wonderful, including the snapper and lamb. Very cozy quaint atmosphere. The chef came out and greeted us. Very enjoyable. Enjoy!

Not what we expected. Owner /chef was nice. Our waiter was not. Overall disappointing.

Amazing! Went here with my husband and 3 sons ages 15 – 22. It was our last night in Paris and we wanted a good, French meal. Well, we couldn’t have picked a better place! Our sons and I ordered the tasting menu(the older 2 and me with wine pairing), while my husband ordered off the menu. The chef came out to greet us when we arrived. He explained that the inspiration for his cooking was based on his hometown in Bordeaux. The chef was interested in knowing about us and gave us a helpful tip to see the Eiffel Tower from the bridge at night, which we did and it was beautiful! Now back to the meal. Each course was better than the next. We started with chanterell mushrooms in a cream sauce. Then it was sea bass, veal, a cheese course and a Napoleon for dessert. My husband had the veal and also a banana soufflé. The wine pairings were perfect as well. When we go back to Paris, we will definitely make a point to go back to this restaurant. In the meantime we’ll have to settle for the great memories of one of the best meals we ever had. Don’t miss this amazing place!

Chef Phillip always creates an amazing meal. This is French gourmet dining within a charming romantic bistro atmosphere. Dress is business casual and reservations are highly recommended. The wait staff speak English for those non-French speakers, are professional and highly efficient. Service is 5 stars. You will not be disappointed in anything. The sea bass with clams/artichokes, rabbit and saddle of lamb are my favorite entrees. I always order foie gras as an appetizer and can never eat enough while in France. And I never miss ordering the Napoleon layer cake! The French wine list is diverse and you can always count upon an excellent recommendation. I had a delightful conversation with chef Phillip when he came to greet us during our meal. The French have such panache. Merci beaucoup Monsieur Chef Phillip, j’aime beaucoup la France et le Petit Bordelais! A bientot!

My wife and I just happened upon this place walking in the Rue Cler neighborhood. It was fantastic. We went with the fixed price menu that came with 3 courses 2 wine pairings and a coffee. Your meal is capped with small pastries before and after dinner. There is town options for each course. I had the veal and my wife had the fish. We both agreed that this was the best meal we have had in a long time. Definitely in our last 5 years of eating together. We aren’t foodies or anything but we are Americans who were looking to get authentic french cuisine and we found it. We speak no french but the wait staff were especially polite and tried their best to make sure we were on the same page. One of the waiters was fluent as was the chef(more on him later). French restaurants can be intimidating just because we don’t want to be rude and the customs can be different than in the US. They couldn’t have been better. Chef Phillip was especially attentive. He came to our table and spoken to us about Paris, things we needed to see, and the thought behind the long meals that the french enjoy. He said that they dine so long because they connect memories with their meals and good food at a nice restaurant does just that. Especially while in Paris. He did just that. We dined for over 3 hours and never felt like we were waiting on anything. Overall I couldn’t be more pleased with our quest to fine great french cuisine that was approachable yet good enough for the locals to think it is great.

Went on the recommendation of the folks at our hotel, and we were not disappointed. Excellent service, fantastic food, and not a terrible price à la carte.(We went thinking there would be a menu smaller than the dégustation, but no such luck. Ordering two courses à la carte with wine ran us about the same price, though: about 80 € per person.) My wife ordered the bass in a butter sauce with clams and artichoke – superb in every way.(She doesn’t even like clams and she ate them up.) I had the steak with vegetables, potato gratinée, and marrow.(Marrow is not really my thing, but when in Paris…) Despite the moment where I was asked how I wanted my steak and couldn’t come up with the French for«medium rare,» everything was cooked perfectly. I know this might offend many of my fellow New Yorkers, but I’m pretty sure this was the best steak I’ve had this side the Mississippi. There are those who say that French portions are small. These dishes were to the point of being just barely too filling, in my opinion. But then, is there such a thing as too much of a good thing? For dessert, my wife got le chocolat, a chocolate shell with raspberry and lychee filling. I got a cheese plate, because Paris. It came with a small salad of mixed greens, which I’d really wanted to go with my steak anyway. The chef came out to greet us as well. Very happy and gracious, and incredibly nice even after we mentioned we were from les États-Unis. Definitely a great choice for a memorable meal.

I was fortunate enough to get a seat especially on my last night in Paris. It was a great finish to this trip and although I had an already awesome time at Guy Savoy, le Petit Bordelais provided a near perfection experience at about 1⁄7 the total cost at Guy Savoy. It’s a typical sized restaurant in Paris, but you get a little more room in between tables. Still they need to pull the table out to get you into your seat. Ambiance is nice, dim lighting and it’s a great date night dinner place too. I went with their fixed menu degustation dinner with wine pairing at € 70. Started off with their complimentary salmon and tomato. Small, petit, a great start before starting off with the menu itself. First dish was duck foie gras. I wasn’t really a fan on foie gras and knowing that it was first on the plate, well, you just have to try again and say to yourself that the really good stuff are coming next. It’s an acquired taste and I have yet to acquire it, but eating the bread at the same time helped out a bit. For the wine, it came with Château Adelaide, a white cuvee, that was a bit too sweet to start off with. The next dish was the scallops, with pasta risotto with black truffles. Very nice, love the texture, and very filling and lots of buttery tastes too. Came with the Vire Clesse, a bit dry, but me rikey a rot! For the main course, the degustation menu came with the lamb aubergine with marmalade and mashed cougette. Very nicely cooked, lamb was awesome. Came with the Château Lucas a dry red wine, it’s a cotes de castillon. I’m starting to get more into this red wine drinking. Next were a trio of cheeses from different parts of France with apricot marmelade. Wasn’t really a fan of the pungent one, but I like the salty goat cheese that was served. For dessert, it was the Le Chocolat. Everything on the plate had some chocolate, the mousse, the ice cream and glaze all had chocolate. The dessert wine was the Lillet, an apéritif from Bordeaux, a sweet liquour. Again, the ambiance was great, even the chef came out and introduced himself. Very personable individual. You can come here casual or a bit dressy, whatever you are in the mood for. If I came back to Paris, I would definitely stop by again. Again, make reservations for this place.

A demanding international diner, I found this restaurant to be a perfect balance between food, service, ambiance and value for money. Had it not been closed on Sunday and Monday I would have been back at least twice — maybe more as it is also open for lunch.
