While planning a long trip in Germany, Paris, and ending in London, I looked for great locations. After much searching, I decided on this rare find! After a very early flight from Berlin to Orly Airport, got a taxi to our hotel! Got into the center of Paris and when the taxi stopped I thought it was a mistake. Very small hotel and I thought I might have made a big mistake in my decision. Brought in our luggage and met Taner the manager. Instantly liked him and said our rooms would be ready later and to leave our luggage and he would have it taken care of. Assigned us room 6 on the third floor. We were very early so walked across to Notre Dame Cathedral and spent a couple of hours looking at everything! On the onset, we were apprehensive about going to Paris. We heard all the stories about the French being really rude and having very slow service. Got back to our room and all was as it should be. The hotel is older and has a few rough edges, but the SERVICEANDVIEWS are to die for!!! We opened both large windows to take the sights, sounds and air of Paris, simply wonderful! The location overlooks the Seine and you can see Notre Dame to the side. It is situated on the edge of the Latin Quarter, which I love! Behind the hotel there must be over 100++ restaurants for fast food or for sitting down and enjoying people watching! Taner was very helpful with recommendation. I wanted a really good French meal and he really delivered. We wanted a tour of Paris and Versalles… He made it happen! Just amazing! The hidden gem is his assistant in the afternoon, Dino Arnold. I consider him part of my family. We had so many requests and he made all of them come true. Anything I asked or needed he made happen! Just a wonderful person and I consider him a dear friend!, On another note. I found the French wonderful. I wanted to learn everything I could in such a short time, about their wonderful culture and amazing accomplishments. I find the people warm and went out of their way to educate me. Just fantastic people! The food, what can I say, other than fantastic! From the tiny café’s on the back streets of the Latin Quarter to the top notch restaurants, the food was amazing and oh do I miss the fresh baguettes! Grin I now consider this tiny gem my new home in Paris. I told Taner, when we come back, he has to have a room waiting for us! With regrets we left Paris for London, but feel we now have a new family in Paris!
