Very disappointed with the food — my onion soup didn’t have any onions and it was cold and the Caesar salad was not nice. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for food. The ambiance was nice though and the service just okay.

Had a truly lovely dinner here tonight with my daughter at this restaurant that has been in business since 1832. Our waiter, Xavier, was delightful and took excellent care of us. We began with a Bellini for her and a rose Louis Roderer champagne for me. We had to have the escargot and Xavier recommended the garlic and blue cheese flavors for us. They were succulent and well flavored and went well with the recommended Pouilly Fume which was light and very dry. Since we were doing so well with recommendations, we took Xavier’s selections for the main course as well: beef fillet on dauphine potatoes(a crisp next of shredded potato that was crispy on the outside with soft, mashed consistency on the inside), topped with crisp seared foie gras and a red wine sauce. She loved the dish! I had the half lobster over risotto. It came with she’ll on the side for decoration only and topped with s lobster foam that made the dish. The risotto was a bit el dents but quite good and I enjoyed it very much. Xavier is the man, also aiding us to pair my lobster with a white burgundy and her steak with a flavorful yet very light red burgundy. Lastly, we chose a cheese course over desert, again giving our waiter authority to choose for us. We had an ample plate of Comte, Camembert and an exceptionally mild Brie-like blue served with a small sharp greens salad and baguette. We couldn’t finish the plate, so Xavier offered to box it for us to take home — a thing I thought was taboo, but done without us requesting. A truly enjoyable meal that will become a treasured Paris memory.

I had the escargots with the garlic and parsley sauce and the foie gras with the toast and they were both good but not the best I’ve had. I ordered the steak with fries. Even though the fries were thick the outside of them were very crispy which was nice. The steak was juicy however it was very tough.

Was there in March. Omg. my best meal in Paris. The atmosphere was so old world Paris. I had the duck lover with goat cheese and pistachios. so decadent. The lamb was good but a bit over cooked as I asked for med rate. Delicious escargot and finished with crème brûlée. Stuffed but so worrgh every biter and every penny. Server was so helpful and personable

When you want to go BEASTMODE on escargot, then this is the spot to visit. Note to self: Never eat that many snails in one sitting though. The mister and I were on an impassioned tourist mission to locate one of the best restaurants in Paris for escargot, so we decided on trying the ones from here, based on Andrew Zimmern’s recommendation. We tried a sampler, which included a dozen of escargot in garlic and parsley, a dozen in truffle oil, and another dozen covered in foie gras. The quality of the cooked snail was phenomenal – each one was consistently fresh, plump and juicy — albeit a tad bit too buttery/oily tasting. My favorite flavor had to be the garlic and parsley. We also tried their foie gras dish, while we were at it, but it wasn’t as notable as the escargot. Overall, a delicious experience and we were thankful for our gracious server who recurrently checked-in on us. Thank you L’Escargot Montorgueil! I wouldn’t say it was the best we ever had, because the best escargot we had was actually from Le Chemise :)

The escargot was delicious. I had the traditional. The escargot is served with bread to soak up the yummy juices. I then had some shrimp which was also great. It seems like a tourist place but that didn’t matter, the food was still great.

I loved my dinner experience here! I was on a mission to eat escargot in paris and I got the chance to check it off my bucket list! Yay! I got the gold escargot with their white wine pairing. It was expensive for escargot and they just spray painted it gold. It was cooked in parsley, garlic, and butter! each escargot was delicious and succulent! I would definitely come back here! I also got their french onion soup. It was full of melted cheese like it should be and delicious! Service was outstanding too!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Excellent food, great service, different kinds of escargot, and it’s still a casual restaurant pretty much. Highly recommend eating here should you find yourself in Paris.

Good value for the quality of food. As their name suggests, the escargot was excellent! The vegetable medley entrée and mixed meat plat du jour was great! The pot roast had great flavor and the mushrooms, so good. Friendly staff, willing speaking good English.

Given that the restaurant bears the name — I was expecting some amazing escargots! They didn’t disappoint — ended up getting the burgundy snails w/truffle butter and separately, w/foie gras. Both were very good and the prices reflected that! 18 euro for 6 pieces! Despite the steep prices, the escargots were excellent. The rest of the meal was just ok — i had the puff pastry salmon. It was still good but nothing spectacular.

Well, the highest quality always has a price. In this case it was about 100 euro for two, so it could be considered as reasonable. Very professional, discrete staff, absolute fantastic traditional french quisine… To make long story short, it’s a must-eat for everyone looking for some exquisite taste-adventure in Paris.

My first meal after a lengthy flight delay from Berlin was at this restaurant. We primarily went here for the escargots as implied in the name itself. The restaurant is also conveniently located close to rue de sebastopol, so close to our airbnb, and to the train station. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from on this street and it is also close to a few shops. The waiters speak in both French and English and menus are provided in both languages. Most of the patrons in the restaurants appeared to be tourists, other than one table that appeared to be colleagues. We ordered the escargots taster which includes 36 escargot — 12 in truffle oil, 12 in garlic and parsley and 12 in foie gras. You get some sweet white bread to mop up the butter/oil after you’ve eaten the animal inside the shell. You are also provided complimentary baguette in two flavours. My favourite were the escargots in truffle oil. The parsley made the escargots in garlic butter slightly bitter. But I’m definitely a fan of escargot now! For my main, I ordered the French onion soup, which comes with a thick upper layer of cheese. Once you remove this layer, you find thick large pieces of soggy bread(apparently these are croutons — huge!) And some soup. It tasted ok. I would have preferred if there was more soup and less croutons as I couldn’t really see or taste any onion and there was hardly any soup(liquid). The other people on my table got a whole duck in orange juice. The duck is not well done and is still tough to chew into and is slightly pink. However the orange juice and sweet(plum?) Sauce that accompany the duck compliment it nicely. Great meal and great service — however it is slightly pricey. My share of the escargots split between 4 cost € 20 and my soup cost 14 = € 34 Our total bill was around 210 and also included frog legs and duck terrine as starters and duck liver in chicken as a main — so 6 dishes in total with no drinks or dessert.

It’s been three days since we arrived in Paris, and this was our first taste of French food at a fancy restaurant. This was definitely a tourist hot spot with the waiters being fluent in French(of course) and English. The dishes were definitely pricey but the menu sits pinned up outside as is with most Parisian restaurants so the price tag should come as no surprise. The escargot which I assume is their signature dish was amazing though one of our shells came without a snail. As soon as we mentioned this to the waiter, he nodded his head and soon brought us two more snails. As for our main courses, everyone seemed really satisfied with their meal… except for me. I had heard so much about the tartare so I wanted to give it a shot. It was by no means offensive as I had mistakenly assumed but it just seemed… bland. So I’d say go for anything but the beef tartare and you should be good to go. Full as we were, we got desserts. I’d recommend the crème brulee or the crêpe suzette if you want a little rum in your dessert. All in all, pretty damn good food but since it is a touristy spot, I always wonder about the authenticity of the dishes being served but if that doesn’t bug you, go for it! Especially the escargots!

It was my friend’s birthday recently while we were in Paris and we came here for her celebratory dinner. As she had never had escargot before our Parisian friend chose the go to place for this landmark occasion. The restaurant was very beautiful, cozy and sophisticated, with great décor and a lovely ambience. Our server was great, had a sense of humour and patience to explain everything to us non-French speaking folk. Being Paris and escargot focussed this wasn’t a vegetarian haven but there were a few options I could choose from. I ordered the pumpkin soup with chevre and chestnuts, Camembert and a server recommended red wine. All were delicious, the pumpkin soup being the highlight, and the cheese portion was so large it took me the rest of the meal to eat it. When the soup came out the chevre and chestnuts were alone in the dish and the server poured the soup in in front of me… it was a very nice touch. My friends also enjoyed their meals, which essentially consisted of many different types of escargot(when in Paris, right?). Overall it was a very lovely dining experience in a lovely area of a lovely city. My only complaint would be that the washrooms could be nicer.

i didn’t eat escargot here so maybe it is all this restaurant is good for. The place itself is super date worthy and french. However, the place cannot make up for the poor quality food. I have to note that my starter was a chestnut soup which was delicious, but the place will still get 1 star because of the main. I had bavette with potatoes. First of all, the beef was indicated as bavette, but I can assure you that the cut was not that. LIES. What they served was a cheap piece of steak which was chewy and thin. I asked for a medium rare, obviously it was not and was pretty much a medium well. Not only that but there was a slighttttt sour taste to it, kind of like meat that has gone bad. I legit ate less than half the portion. It doesn’t make sense as the restaurant is not like a cheap french brasserie, so I would expect the quality to be better. Anyway it was a HORRIBLE experience and I would NEVER recommend anyone to come here.

Pas mal du tout. Jolie ambiance.

We loved this place and were happy that it was the final dinner on our Paris trip. Wonderful food and friendly service made it very memorable. The escargot were great, with plenty of delicious sauce to soak into bread. We also started off with a fantastic onion soup and a very intriguing tomato mozzarella salad. Our mains were delicious. And the deserts! Oh my. Strawberry soup! Our kids made the strangest sounds because they were so tantalized by the flavour.

On our last day in Paris, BF suddenly tells me he wants snails, and I must find one spur of the moment! Ahhhh!!! Of course a place called«escargot» pops up first. So we make our way over for lunch. While many restaurants in Paris are tiny and seating is close together, this place is not. It’s a big place, and the tables aren’t right on top of each other. Our server spoke perfect English, and gave us English menus. Super awesome! I am not a snail fan, but there were plenty of other options. I went with the vegetable tartine on cottage cheese with the assortment of cheeses. BF got the 6 escargots 3 flavors and 6 foie gras escargots. He said the 3 flavors were good, but the foie gras was amazing. So amazing in fact that he ordered another 6 more of the foie gras ones. My veggie tartine was fabulous, and so colorful and pretty I almost didn’t want to eat it. The cheese… fabulous. Just amazing. And it came with some really good butter. For dessert we ordered the crêpe suzette with Grand Marnier. That was good, but we felt like it needed something more. It was literally just crepes with oranges. If they added mascarpone cheese inside, not THAT would be awesome. Wine was cold, and the fans on the outside patio helped keep it cooler. The server was just awesome. Please come eat here. It was amazing.

This lovely restaurant(with the most romantic outdoor/greenhouse patio seating) is where we spent our first and last meal in Paris on our Honeymoon from California. It was the perfect beginning and end to the most beautiful trip I have had the pleasure of taking. The first time: When we were searching for a place to dine, we were — JETLAGGED. Sooooo, it was hard to know what we wanted or even where to go, but a lovely, kind, sweet, patient waitress helped up understand the process and menu. Throughout, she provided excellent service and even taught me how to — properly — use the utensils to devour their famous snails. I of course started with the snails — OMG… They were so buttery, so fresh, and I left knowing I would come back for more. Additionally, I ordered the duck salad, which had a lot going on in it, but all came together to be delicious. My husband ordered the bone marrow and some kind of meat pie. While both dishes didn’t wow like my snails, they were tasty, balanced and beautiful. The last time: Walking in, we already had our previous meal in mind and were glowing, as it was a our last meal in Paris. We had a waiter this time and he was fantastic. His casually fun nature was a pleasure to indulge in and he even had spent time in the Bay Area, so it was fun to hear his side of things. I of course(again) started with the snails, but I tried ones with some sort of basil. They were even better and I was left thinking I should have ordered more. Also, I ordered the steak, but honestly it was just okay. He ordered. .. heck I can’t remember, but I have some vague feelings that it was pretty good. Overall, the service is impeccable, the ambiance romantic, the snails AMAZING, the food pretty good and everything came together to provide a perfect experience. Next time we are in Paris, we will definitely stop by.

Also: Essen garnicht schlecht, aber aufpassen beim Service!

A fuir Accueil exécrable, addition exorbitante.

On s’y sent vraiment bien.
