The food was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures! We went to this restaurant for my birthday. The restaurant was small and charming. The owner was very friendly and kind. We dined there the day after the terrorist attacks and we were happy to support their business as she mentioned that many people canceled reservations. This restaurant is willing to accommodate dietary restrictions. The table next to me had a dairy free guest. I have a pretty long list of things I can’t eat and she just took my word for it and didn’t ask for an explanation, which was appreciated. We both started with an appetizer consisting of pumpkin cakes and lobster. The pumpkin had a few pieces of orange and a some sort of light buttery sauce(maybe with lemon and wine?) and was so delicious. It was one of those dishes that was so light and delicious that I could’ve eaten 10 plates of it. For my main, I had a seared sea bass with courgettes. The fish was cooked perfectly and the courgette strings were a nice compliment. The dish was supposed to come with lentils, but I can’t have legumes and the substitution was no problem. My husband had duck with orange sauce and he said it was divine. We didn’t stay for dessert because we had plans elsewhere. The wine list was great and we really enjoyed the bottle we ordered. The restaurant seemed to mostly have tourists and it filled up quickly. Don’t be scared away by the tourist part — the food is of a very high quality here. The locals should pay a visit. Be sure to make a reservation because it’s a small and busy place. I will definitely go back the next time I visit Paris!

I found this through another rating site, and read the Unilocal!reviews as well. It was probably our best dining experience in Paris. Certainly a good value. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It is a lovely intimate place, with only a half-dozen tables. One of the desserts, a light but crisp pastries filled with vanilla crème — and ice cream on the side, was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve eaten in years.

Based on the high reviews on Trip Advisor, I made a reservation at Mariette for my 10th wedding anniversary on October 1st. The food was absolutely incredible. There isn’t a word that covers how fantastic it was. I had the duck ravioli and my husband had the creamy mussel soup(starters). I wanted to lick my plate and my husband used bread to get the last of his soup from the bowl. For our main course, I had the Black Angus steak and my husband had the lamb with chorizo. Both of those dishes have spoiled us for life, and every steak or lamb will be compared to these dishes. For dessert, I had the apple crumble and my husband had the chocolate — I really wish I could look at the menu as I type this on my phone so that I had the proper names of everything. What a perfect finish to a memorable meal. Marcela is the perfect hostess; she speaks four languages, and is absolutely charming. Truly warm and kind, and we really enjoyed her. Alfredo, her husband(and chef), came and spoke to us as well, which was a wonderful surprise. We felt like we were invited into their home for an amazing meal, with great wine(thanks to Marcela for helping us choose the wine). We highly recommend Mariette. Don’t miss out!

simply the best. simplemente el mejor. it will be hard to forget the unique flavors and loving service that got at this place. making reservations was so easy and the staff was actually super nice. they are scholars and lovers of french cuisine and culture. their love for the food and people of france manifests in every detail of this restaurant. when you leave after a brilliant dinner you discover that you have made new friends. this is definitely the place that will be around for many years to come… seriously, .if you are in paris, just go to Mariette.

Perfect romantic meal! The chorizo filled lamb was the best lamb I have ever tasted. The couple who owns the restaurant were very kind and personable. It is a small place tucked away on a side street and should not be missed when you are in Paris. Desserts were delicious as well.

What a great meal we had. My wife and I were recently in Paris and, coincidentally, we were there over my birthday. My wife knowing how much I like food, made reservations here and I am certainly goad that she did. While I admit that I had been hoping she would select a place with at least one Michelin Star, I am now so happy that we went here. This place is cozy, charming and the«staff» is the chef and his wife(she runs the front of the house). First the food: Very well executed with only a couple of missteps(which is why I am giving four stars instead of five). I started with the pumpkin veloute in pastry and it was delicious. And I normally don’t like pumpkin. But I started with it because my wife had the foie gras ravioli with sweet potato purée(I also normally don’t care for sweet potatoes) and I knew that she would share all her choices with me because she doesn’t have nearly as big an appetite as me. While my pumpkin was delicious, the foie gras was a revelation. It may have been the single best thing we ate in our entire week in Paris. Next our mains. My wife had the lamb stuffed with Spanish chorizo and it, too, was delicious. And normally lamb is not my preferred protein. But the braised leeks and the crunchy alfalfa sprouts set off the tender lamb and the rich sauce. I had the rib steak(which was perfect) and the potato churros(which were not). The steak was excellent but the potato churros were bland, not really crispy on the exterior and not terribly fluffy, hot or homey on the inside. It’s a dish that could use some tweaking. For dessert my wife had the apple crumble and it was delicious and unlike any other apple crumble/streusel/cobbler you have ever had. The apples were poached in a saffron syrup and were a vivid orange as a result. The ice cream was a yogurt ice cream, which beautifully set off the sweetness of the apples and the crunch of the liberal dose of streusel-style topping. I had the mille-feuille which, also, was unlike any other mille-feuille I’ve ever had. It came out looking like three biscuits stacked on top of one another but each one was crispy pastry perfection. With the pastry cream and the ice cream it was the perfect ending to the perfect meal. As for the wine list, ideally you would like to see more bottles. But the place is so small, it’s not a surprise that their selection is rather tiny. Still, there were some nice finds on there Service was very good if a bit leisurely. Of course, service in Paris is simply different than service in the States, where I live. While I appreciate being left alone to enjoy my meal, checking in a few times and picking up the pace between courses would have been appreciated. Also, when we were in Paris, it was pretty cold and rainy. I was cold when we got there and as my pre-dinner cocktail, I ordered a calvados. Calvados is a digestif and meant to typically be consumed post-prandially. I had done this a few other times during our trip because brandy warms me up. Most places in Paris really looked at me like an idiot American(which, you know, fair enough) but she asked if I was sure and I told her«I know it’s a digestif, but it will warm me up» and she smiled and happily poured. After our meal we ordered an Über(in addition to being pretty cold, it had also started raining. My phone was wonky due to roaming issues and she chased us down, brought us back in, gave me the wifi password and then chatted with us while we waited for the car. Such a lovely woman. I absolutely recommend this place.

While the service was exceptional keep in mind the following when dining at Mariette: 1. Make a reservation. This is a must because the place seats no more than 18 people. We saw many being turned away at the door because they were at max occupancy. 2. Wait time between dishes is ridiculous. We waited for over an hour between our salads and our fish entrées which dimished both the appetites and spirits considerably. 3. The food is really good. Although the price-value assessment isn’t exceptional either.

This was my treat dinner during my vacation. I was seated at the front table because I was by myself, which was fine, but it was right next to a heater so I was pretty much boiling(I suppose I could have moved to the side chair, but I didn’t want to block the small aisle). However, the service was excellent, which more than made up for it, and the food was delicious and well presented. I started with the soft-boiled egg and crab meat with spinach cream. I pretty much licked the plate clean. Then I had the turbot which I wish had been a little more tender, but it was still very good, and it came served with what I think may just be the best asparagus I have ever eaten, just exquisitely tender. I finished with the vanilla mille feuille with ice cream(I forget what flavor) and it was very good as well. A glass of champagne completed the meal. Prices for the three course dinner were reasonable for Paris, and well worth it. I have already recommended the place to someone. A definite good find, but be sure and make a reservation because the restaurant is small.

So good. I am traveling alone which can sometimes be challenging but not here! I felt so comfortable and invited in this small, delightful restaurant. Marcela(the chefs’ wife) sat me at a table facing the window(next to the heater — first time I’ve been warm all day) at the front of the restaurant. I did not have to look at(or get looked at) by my fellow diners but found the hum of people speaking french in low tones behind me a wonderful addition to my overall experience! I haven’t even mentioned the food yet… it was delicious perfection! I chose the three course option and started with the soft boiled egg over crab meat in a spinach cream sauce. Holy deliciousness Batman! I savored every bite, slowly. Main course was the Turbot with asparagus in a buttery sauce, I would have licked the plate but instead sopped up every drop with a slice of bread! How in the hell did he get the asparagus sooooo tender? For dessert, apple crumble with ice cream and safron. Not too sweet and again, I cleaned my plate! The portions were generous but not too much. I feel sated, not miserable and stuffed. Last night was my first night in Paris and I was so disappointed with my meal and especially the service. Marcela and her husband(who introduced himself but I forget) made up for it in spades. EATHERE, you won’t be disappointed.

Small, intimate dining experience. The dining room only seats 16, maybe 18 people? The food was EXCELLENT. I had the Turbot, my husband had the steak. If licking the sauce off the plate were remotely acceptable, I’d have done it. We shared a wonderful asparagus appetizer, and enjoyed a bottle of wine. The staff here is AMAZING. The proprietors are so friendly and welcoming — they treat you like guests in their home! The night we were there a large party stayed for over three hours, pushing back the time they were able to seat us to nearly 45 minutes after our reservation time. We didn’t mind at all — it was out of their hands anyway, so we spent that time chatting with them about all sorts of interesting things and sipping wine in the small reception/bar area. It really is a lovely place run by lovely people. I’m sad we went our last night in Paris — I really wish we’d have gone there earlier in our stay so we could have visited more than once.

My husband and I had a fabulous meal at Mariette for our wedding anniversary. The restaurant only has 6 tables, so I highly recommend making a reservation! The service was outstanding and we had amazing wine during our meal. For dinner we had the escargot ravioli, the chorizo stuffed lamb, the turbot(SOOOOGOOD!), and the vanilla pastry… All the dishes were outstanding and gave us a great impression of French cuisine while in Paris

Everything comes out perfectly cooked and stunning to look at. The food is fantastic and the service could not be more welcoming and warm. We were treated by the hostess with such care and attention, she made us feel like we were guests in her own home. At the end of the meal the chef came out to see if everything was to our liking, he was so friendly and ready to have a friendly conversation. And of course he could not have done any better. I recommend the escargot raviloli, I could have eaten a bowl of the spinach crème it comes in. I had the fish, which was seared so nicely on the outside and just melted on the inside. The mille feuille dessert was the perfect finale to my meal, pastry perfectly carmelized with sugar on the outside and filled with just the right amount of cream and the accompanying caramel ice cream was manifique. At the end of the meal our hostess would not let us leave without a digestif, so sweet and warm in the belly, made sweeter by her instisting smile and willingness to share. We wanted to come back the next evening.

Excellent all around. A small restaurant on a small side street, tucked away near the Ecole Militaire. A husband and wife team, she the charming and gracious hostess/waitress, and he the outstanding chef. I had the ravioli with foi gras, though as the chef explained, it wasn’t pasta but sweet potato sliced very thinly. To die for. Main course was chicken stuffed with foi gras(sensing a trend here) wrapped with filo dough on a bed of black rice(who knew there was such a thing). Perfectly cooked though just a tad salty. Portions were just right, though I could have eaten dozens of the ravioli. Since it was not too busy, the chef was able to come up and talk to us. A very pleasant young man from Columbia who obviously knows what he is doing.

This is an absolute gem in the city of Paris. Owners are originally from Columbia. They are very delightful and attentive to all their patrons. The restaurant is very small seating 16 people. We had a party of nine and the restaurant was full. Very quaint ambiance and they make you feel welcome like you are home for dinner. Even tho the tables are close together we never felt like anyone was too loud or noisy, it is a extremely cozy place. The food was absolutely outstanding. The lamb was delicious as was the Pollack fish. Dishes are not overwhelming in size allowing you to enjoy an appetizer, main entrée and desert. All were excellent, highly recommend this place. Not far from the Eiffel Tower.

Great little find from Trip Advisor. Intimate, small and away from the tourist restaurants on the rue Cler. Marcella(the hostess) and her husband Alfredo pour themselves into their business and it shows. What a lovely way to end our stay in Paris!

Just had an anniversary dinner here last evening and Oh My, what a culinary delite! We had a very early reservation and we were welcomed so warmly by the owner. The dining room is tastefully decorated to feel so lite and airy for such a small space. Everything from our wine suggestion to our dessert was just simply perfect. The starter ravioli is simply to die for! The fusion of sweet potatoe sauce with a delicate thin layer of pasta and the foiis gras inside the ravioli is beyond explosive with flavor. My husband had a seared cut of prime rib that melted in your mouth. No hesitation here on making a reservation… Just Do It!

We were looking for a place for dinner with a larger group. Some recommendations were received for this place. The food quality was excellent! The whole group enjoyed their dinner, with appetizers and main course to desserts. Some members said it was the best dinner they had during our few days trip. And the service was great with good conversations with the personnel & event the chef. Also: English well spoken here! The place is great for couples looking for a romantic hideaway. The restaurant is fairly small and not along a busy street. The interior is nice, although someone might not like the fragrance that was mildly present in the restaurant. For us, it wasn’t something we paid attention to. I can fully recommend and will definitely visit it again if time permits when in Paris next time.

Wow! What a wonderful meal and a memorable evening! This tiny gem is run by a husband and wife team. The wife minds to front of house with an infectious smile and meticulous attention to each diner, while the husband is in the kitchen preparing delicious Spanish inspired dishes. My chorizo stuffed lamb was cooked perfectly with subtly balanced flavor and textures. The stunning apple crumble desert featured golden apples prepared with butter and saffron paired with a slightly tart frozen yogurt. When I didn’t recognize anything on the wine list, our hostess recommended a bottle I would never have chosen on my own that turned out to be both delicious and affordable. Dinner concluded with a nice glass of a Porto style Spanish desert wine, and a nice conversation with the chef who introduced himself. All in all, wonderful food, wonderful service… I can’t wait to come again!
