Service was very good. Baguette was very good as well and would have been excellent if not for being burned on the bottom. I don’t mind it when some pastries are a touch too brown because that’s yummy. Burned bread=not yummy.

Of course, bakeries are everywhere! But this one was probably my favorite out of all the other bakeries we went to while visiting Paris. It doesn’t hurt that they all look so pretty. very pretty. you almost don’t want to eat it. Sometimes, pretty pastries don’t always taste as good as it looks. Not the pastries from Gosselin. It is pricier than other mom and pop bakeries you’ll see while walking around Paris but it is worth it. It’s a walking distance from Musee d’Orsay so stop by before going to the museum and have you a éclair or a flan. YUM!

Gosselin is the stereotypical«A-OK» boulangerie, offering a huge array of products at reasonable prices, where nothing is really bad but at the same time nothing is exceptional. Their baguette tradition is quite good, with a tasty, crunchy crust and just-dense-enough, yeasty interior. Definitely ask for it bien cuite, the one less-cooked baguette I had wasn’t very good. The pâtisseries are okay — they are plentiful in variety and wonderful in appearance but generally unexceptional in taste. I had a merveilleux chocolat, a large macaron framboise, and an éclair café which were all fine, pretty much average for Paris. But come on, if you’re here in the 7th, you have Rue du Bac on your doorstep, and that means pastry row with Jacques Genin, Des Gateaux et Du Pain, Pâtisserie des Rêves, and more… there are better places for bread, viennoiseries, and pastries a stone’s throw away!

I don’t give 5 stars often, and I think this might be my only 2nd5 star review of a Paris locale, but I have a huge sweet tooth and we bought 4 pastries and I ate them all in one sitting. Oh my goodness, I spotted the shop as we were approaching the Musee d’Orsay and I felt how Dorothy felt when she saw the City of Oz for the first time. It was awe inspiring. My mouth opened and even now my tongue is salivating at the thought. I hate myself for not taking photos of the window front. It was so gorgeous and magical, the sweets I saw in the window and the throng of girls in the front. I am not a fan of macaroons, but of the other sweets that you rarely can find in the States. The closest you can get is Madeliene or Whole Foods. Anyhow, after our visit to Musee d’Orsay, I dragged my son and husband in there and they packaged our sweets in the most beautiful pink box. I carried it on the Metro as if it was a priceless heirloom, All the women were staring at it. Then at home we devoured every last scrumptious crumb. I even saved the wrapping paper and tissue paper to put in my Paris scrapbook…

A great bakery in Saint-Germain. I was lucky enough to be staying down the street from Philippe Gosselin on Rue de Bellechasse. Close walking distance from Musée d’Orsay. I first came here for a café & chocolate croissant. Next I came for Macaroons — and wow — they were the best I’ve had. I got a package of 6 for 12 euro to bring home as a gift, and they were loved. A little pricey for the packaged gifts, however in general, this is an affordable and delicious bakery. A must-stop if in the area of Musée d’Orsay /Saint Germain.

Stumbled upon this place while walking the city. Lucky me! The line of people hinted that it would be a place worth stopping into it. Fantastic sandwich and tasty macarons.

Fantastic pastry shop. The macarons were simply scrumptious. The pistachio Napoleon we shared was the best pastry ever. We had a few other things that were very good, but the macarons and the pistachio Napoleon were simply spectacular.

Four years ago, almost to the day, my husband and I honeymooned in Europe. Our first stop was Paris and we had the good fortune of staying in a flat right around the corner from this place. I have terribly fond memories of waking up before the hubby, going downstairs and getting our breakfast pastries from this shop. We must have tried every variety of croissant they had and we also bought many a baguette. I really loved that we could get a demi baguette every morning instead of having to eat day old bread, which is what would have happened had we needed to get the whole baguette. The croissants were all fantastic and now, four years later, we still compare every croissant we eat to these. I can tell you that even in Paris not many live up to them. If you are on the hunt for a good croissant and happen to be near this place, go in and give them a try, you won’t be disappointed, I only wish I’d had the opportunity to eat more of their selection before we headed out of Paris.

This very nice boulangerie-pâtisserie is located on a busy corner, directly across the street from the Solferino Metro station. It’s several blocks away from the Orsay Museum. They sell lots of breads, croissants, eclairs, chocolates, and many other decadent French treats. During my visit many Parisians were purchasing loafs of bread, so I sort of went against the grain when I purchased my French sampling of croissant, pain au chocolat, and vanilla éclair. But I’m glad I purchased those items because all three of them were excellent. They were dynamite! The inside was a little hectic and busy when I visited but I think that’s because a lot of customers were regulars and they were just in a hurry to get home and cook dinner(it was around dinner time, hence all the bread purchases). The people working behind the counter were friendly, polite, and I experienced no problems with my English.

Stumbled upon Philippe Gosselin while walking through St Germain on my way to the Muse D’orsay…and what a find it was. I cannot speak for much as all I had was one of their cream filled beignets… but is was heaven. Most of their other baked goods looked really good as well. The mix of clients was parisan and tourist but that had no bearing on how great this place was. This place would be great for an afternoon break for a pastrie and coffee.

I reviewed the OTHER Gosselin bakery by accident. I didn’t go to that one! I went to THIS one and this is hands down the BEST in Paris and the WORLD, yes the WORLD. There are people that visit this location from the USA just to visit this bakery and eat their wonderful baguettes! Incredible tasting, light amazing. And cheap too!!! They have the greatest baguettes in the WORLD. And everything else in there is great. I need to go back NOW because I need to have their baguettes, and I want them right now!!!

Our family saw this on the way to the Orsay Museum. It is a place that gets very crowded at lunch with locals. Know what you want b/c the line moves quickly and they dont tolerate anyone holding up the line. The chocolate filled pastries were delicious and we went back the next day for more. You have to find a bench outside if you want to sit and enjoy a meal.

This was an amazing little bakery that we walked into on our way to Musee d’Orsay. Each of us got a different pastry to share, and everything was just incredible. There isn’t any seating inside, but you can take a short walk to the Seine and eat there. Highly recommend this place!

Found this place near the Musee d’Orsay. Bought a box of 6 macarons for € 11(kinda pricey), they were delicious! My friend and I came back the next day and she got a fig tarte that was equally, if not, better than the macarons. Definitely go here if you go to the Orsay!

Decadent cakes, breads and a whole range of filled baguettes make this a great stop to grab something on the go.(Not to eat on the run of course — that’s not a Parisian thing to do!) The mere glimpse of the gorgeous cakes in the window and you’re guaranteed to be salivating. All reasonably priced too, it’s just incredibly hard to leave with just a single cake…
