Awesome delicious food. The restaurant is very small, very intimate. They have only one waiter but he seems to be able to tend to everyone without delay. It’s a one man show and he was super nice to us non French speaking Americans. Some places I’ve been to and they weren’t so nice. Food was delicious. We ordered burrata pugliese for appetizer, pappardelle il bolognesse and dish of the day which was veal with mushroom and pasta. The bolognesse and burrata were delicious, the veal was eh, could be better. Best to make reservation or come eighth when they open.

I really have no idea how one waiter handles the entire restaurant. I was in awe of him the entire night. He was excellent. We started with the bruschetta, which I didn’t enjoy as the tomatoes didn’t taste as fresh as I am used to and the dish needed a little more balsamic or something else. The pumpkin soup my husband had was good and needed a little more spice added to it as the pumpkin flavor was a little thick and heavy. Masked with their delicious crisp prosciutto, it was good.
We had the bolognese and the artichoke rigatoni. Pasta was al denote and both were excellent. To me they weren’t quite as good as NY Italian. We made the mistake of ordering two dishes: you only need one to share between two people because it is a lot of food.
All in all it was a good Italian meal in Paris.

I guess I was unlucky with my order. I first had the Burrata which was leaps and bounds superior to another Burrata I had at a nearby Italian restaurant in the area, but –even though it tasted heavenly with great texture– it was still not as creamy and liquidy as I had heard it should be on the inside. Then I made the mistake of ordering the «Plat de Jour» that evening, which was Pasta with Mushrooms and Veal. The taste was very bland and lacking. I had to sprinkle a lot of salt and Parmesan to make the experience of finishing the huge portion less taxing. My sister had the Ravioli which was just incredible. Absolutely perfect. I looked around me and it seems almost nobody had gone for the «Plat de Jour». I was planning to get one of the recommendations here on Unilocal but thought what could be better than the chef’s recommendation for the day. Otherwise, a very cozy place, fantastic bread, good ambiance.

We found this restaurant on Unilocal during a recent trip to Paris. It is a tiny, hidden shop with 8 small tables. We called last minute and could only get a reservation at 10pm for dinner. We took it and sure glad we did! We ordered the Italian cold cuts to start, then the Linguine with clams in butter, white wine sauce, and pappardelle pasta bolognese. Both were very generous in portion and was absolutely delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the ingredients were simple and fresh. The best Italian dishes are this way. Our waiter was sweet, patient with us as we spoke English. Great food and service… couldn’t ask for more. Love, love it.

Oh man. Oh man. Oh man!
I was doing some serious Unilocaling to find a great Italian spot to dine at while in Paris. Having spent time in Italy, both studying and visiting, I’m very picky with my Italian foods. This place delivered.
I had the rigatoni with black truffle cream sauce, and goodness gracious it was just so darn good! It does have a few dollar signs next to it on Unilocal,but don’t let that scare you away. My dish of pasta was € 20 plus another 5 for some wine, but it’s worth it.
My one star off was about my seating, which wasn’t entirely in the restaurants control. I arrived at 8pm for dinner on my own, and there was only one table left (meant for two) that I was seated at, and it was right by the door. Although it was nice to look out the window as people passed by, the cold air from the door opening and closing was quite annoying.
Go around 7 before it really fills up, because (I counted) and there are only about 20 seats in the house, and it’s still cramped with that.

This tiny but warm and welcoming restaurant dished up what was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
My wife and I were in Paris for our honeymoon and for our last night we chose Salento without knowing much about it. We ate there Thursday, January 14, 2016, for dinner.
The starters were great; bruschetta and vegetable flans; the flans were particularly delicious.
My wife had ravioli in cream sauce. They were fantastic. It was my main dish, however, that truly stole the show. The rigatoni with black truffle cream sauce and Parma ham is a perfect pairing; every bite was a thrilling rush of umami, and the obviously homemade pasta was perfectly cooked.
The one waiter there was very busy but full of good humor and served us well.

I went here with my wife and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS place! She ordered the vongole pasta and I ordered the bolognese pasta. Both were beyond delicious! It was the noodles that really amazed me. My wife and I have had pasta all over the world and we’ve never tasted noodle as good as they make it there! It was cooked PERFECTLY! Just the right amount of bite to it.
And the sauces were perfect too!
If you come to Paris, you need to come here!

Une jolie découverte en plein centre de Paris ! Ce petit restaurant propose de délicieuses spécialités italiennes, entre antipasti, pâtes et risotto, et aussi de délicieux desserts maison. Mon coup de coeur va pour le risotto parmesan, courgette et jambon de Parme: un délicieux mélange de saveurs et de textures.
Par contre, il faut aimer la proximité avec les autres convives car la salle est très petite. Pour un dîner en plein mois de novembre, il faisait très chaud et, la salle remplie était assez bruyante. Dommage également pour le vin de table servi au verra qui n’était certainement pas de grande qualité. Pour ce type de restaurant. Nous aurions espéré mieux.
En bref, une très bonne expérience quand vous n’êtes pas à la recherché d’intimité mais plutôt d’une bonne expérience culinaire. Je recommande!

Un bon restaurant italien découvert grâce à La Fourchette, avec un plutôt bon rapport qualité prix grâce à la remise. Globalement les plats que nous avons pu goûter étaient bons, la carte inclue quelques spécialités locales qu’on né voit pas forcément ailleurs et c’est justement intéressant pour ça. Après ce n’est pas le meilleur resto italien que j’ai pu tester à Paris. La mozzarella de buffle dégustée en entrée était bonne mais pas incroyable non plus pour le prix et les pâtes, bien que très bonnes, étaient un peu lourdes (trop de crème…). Une adresse donc réconfortante d’où l’on en ressort le ventre bien plein mais qui serait certainement un peu chère sans la remise La Fourchette au regard de l’assiette (en rapport qualité/​prix). Ce resto est tout de même une bonne adresse dans ce quartier où la norme est plutôt le bistrot attrape touriste ou l’adresse branchée hors de prix.

Nous étions deux, et au début nous avions tout simplement envie d’une pizza. Passant à côté de ce petit resto on a été intriguées par la carte. Le service est très souriant et efficace, la carte est variée et délicieuse (pas de pizza, donc: D). J’ai opté pour les linguines aux palourdes (j’enlève une étoile à cause du rapport qualité/​prix pour ce plat précisément: c’est très bon mais trop simple pour coûter 22 € je trouve !). Les portions sont très suffisantes. Je conseille de prendre la petite formule aperitivo, qui est composé d’une assiette de bruschetta à partager et deux verres de prosecco pour commencer (entre 13 € et 16 €).
Une très bonne découverte, j’y retournerai sans hésiter pour tester les pâtes aux truffes qui ont l’air délicieuses !

We got the when it opened at 7 p.m. and got the last table. Everyone else had called ahead. Some tourists, some French speakers. The menu is in Italian, English and French. Modest wine list in 27 € range. Perhaps 15 tables in restaurant, with one waiter who was attentive and cordial. Everyone loved their food, especially the veal. We had a bottle of wine, an antipasto for the table, and three entrees for 90 €.

This is a must if you love Italian food and small restaurants. The service was top notch! Laurent was adorable, pleasant and fantastic. The food was outstanding. We had gnocchi arrabiata, risotto with pear and Gorgonzola and rigatoni with truffle ricotta sauce. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Une de mes adresses préférées toutes catégories confondues.
La carte n’est pas longue mais tout est tellement bon: la burrata est exquise, les pâtes toujours succulentes, le service souriant, attentionné et de bons conseils (mets ou vins)! Et le tout pour un prix raisonnable, surtout pour le quartier.
Mon plat préféré est les parpadelle aux boulettes bolognaises, même si les linguine alle vongole me font aussi de l’oeil à chaque fois…
Les plats y sont tellement fatty qu’il faut souvent choisir entre entrée et dessert, choix toujours cornélien… Heureusement, depuis quelques temps l’option doggy bag est proposée pour nous permettre de goûter à un max de plats! Youpii!

This restaurant went above and being expectations. The food and service were both high quality; we ordered carciofi rigatoni e taleggio (artichoke pasta) and rigatoni alla trevigiana (pasta with sausage and buffalo mozzarella). Being someone who doesn’t normally eat artichoke, I was surprised by how much I loved the artichoke pasta!
It is not horribly expensive either! Pasta and meat dishes range from 10 – 18 euro. It is a fantastic value for your price!
Definitely make a reservation if you plan to go during the weekend.

When you want a delicious Italian meal in Paris this place is great! Service is very friendly and the food is delicious. It’s not exactly on the level with the trattorias in Rome, but it’s very good! Every dish we had was delicious. It’s reasonably priced as well.

Il est dimanche soir, pas envie de rester à la maison, un petit coup de La Fourchette et je trouve ce restaurant italien proposant 30% de réduction sur plats et boissons, parfait !
Le restaurant est tout petit, heureusement que j’avais réservé ! Le gérant est tout seul en salle mais gère très bien. Nous sommes accueillis très chaleureusement.
La carte est plutôt garnie, plusieurs choix d’entrées, de plats et de desserts + un plat du jour.
En entrée, je prends la soupe au potiron avec tranche de specks. Simple, mais la soupe est très bonne.
En plat, je prends le filet de poulet au citron avec légumes de saisons. La sauce est très relevée mais c’est pas mal.
En dessert enfin, je goûte le moelleux à la poire et son caramel laitier. Un délice !
Finalement, avec entrée, plat, dessert et 2 verres de vin — cela nous revient à 30 € par personne.
En bref, une très bonne adresse pour un diner chaleureux, avec des plats simples mais bien executés et des prix très raisonnables (surtout avec la réduction LaFourchette)

Un petit resto où il vaut mieux réserver selon moi.
Nous avons eu la chance d’être placé à deux un samedi soir.
Le service a été très poli et très fluide.
La carte laisse un choix d’environs une dizaine d’entrées et de plats.
La cuisine reste simple mais change des éternels classiques plats italien (carbonara, bolognaise…)
Nous avons trouvé les assiettes très réussies mais elles manquaient peut être un peu de garniture, et du petit plus qui fait qu’on est super heureux d’avoir trouvé LE resto.
Tiramisu mm remarque.
Mais c’était quand même très bon. Vous pouvez y aller pour faire un arrêt si vous êtes dans le quartier.

We have eaten at Salento twice in October 2010 and just recently in January 2014 and we will go back there every time we are in Paris as long as the restaurant exists. Delicious food, simply prepared and beautifully presented. You get a little dish of olives to munch while you are waiting for your food to arrive. There is a nice wine selection both by bottle and by carafe of house wine. Very friendly and attentive waiter. We were the only non-​French customers all three visits, which is something I love when in Paris. It’s so nice to be somewhere that large groups of tourists are not! The restaurant starts to get busy at around 8:30 and by 9:30 is was at full capacity (about 30 people). The prices are very reasonable for a restaurant in the heart of Paris. If I could give it 10 stars, I would! Go there and have a wonderful meal while soaking up French ambiance.

Une fois passé le seuil de la porte vous tombez dans un petit restaurant plein de charme. Il n’y a pas beaucoup de tables, donc c’est très calme, ce qui contraste fortement avec l’effervescence du quartier dans lequel il est situé.
Maintenant que le responsable de l’établissement vous a installé, préparez vous à vous régaler, car les plats sont à tomber ! Ce qui est bien dommage, c’est que la quantité n’est pas forcément présente dans tous les plats. Un dessert s’impose. mais ce n’est pas un problème, n’hésitez pas à être gourmands ;-)
Il en est de même pour la carte des vins, assez intéressante.
En clair, je recommande cette adresse si vous êtes à la recherché d’un restau bon restau italien, d’un lieu intimiste, et que vous êtes accompagné de votre moitié(e).

C’était bon, très bon, même excellent, dans un petit restaurant qui d’extérieur né paye pas de mine, mais qui une fois à l’intérieur envoie du lourd. Cela dit, je n’attribue pas la note maximale parce que je suis un peu restée sur ma faim en termes de quantité (quand c’est bon, une bonne portion bien généreuse est la bienvenue). Or, je dois reconnaître que les strozzapreti au speck et poireaux, aussi divins soient-​ils, n’ont pas complètement satisfait mon appétit de gourmande… Par contre, pour ce que j’ai pu observer autour de moi, les autres plats semblaient être servis en quantité un peu plus généreuse. Peut-​être un petit manqué de chance… Autre tout petit bémol aussi, j’ai trouvé le tiramisu un petit peu sec, rien de bien méchant, mais il manquait un peu de moelleux. Ces petits reproches mis de côté, il faut reconnaître que le service était impeccable, attentif, mais pas intrusif, ce qui n’est pas un compris évident à trouver dans une si petite salle. Le temps d’attente pour les plats est très raisonnable et on en repart en ayant passé un agréable moment.

This jewel of an Italian restaurant is the best of its kind in the Marais. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming and the servers could not be more accommodating and friendly. The space is small so of you have a large party, you’ll want to make a reservation. Everything is made in-​house to order and they are more than happy to make modifications for you. Get excited vegans in Paris! I had a pasta with vegetables special. The favors were deep and complex. They also made us a green salad that wasn’t on the menu just because we asked. It was very fresh and tasty. Our waiter could not have been nicer. Also there were no tourists here, which is always a nice break if you want an authentic experience.

So, what do you do when you’re in Paris, and you don’t *really* like French food? You go to Salento for some delicious Italian food instead.
After a day full of wandering around Paris, the Mister and I found ourselves in La Marais around dinnertime. Trip Advisor (sorry Unilocal) pointed us to Salento, and I’m so glad it did!
We got there early — around 7pm — and we practically had the place to ourselves. It’s a tiny little restaurant that’s beautiful and intimate — yet decidedly casual. Our server, a charmingly handsome (read: hot) French boy, was sweet, helpful, attentive, and had zero pretense. After throwing some of my terrible French at him, he spoke perfect English to me the rest of the night. He really was fantastic and made our experience great.
We started the dinner with espresso (yes, yes — I know), and it was the best we had in Europe. Then, we split an appetizer of bruschetta, which was simple, yet delicious. As for our main courses, the Mister had pasta with red sauce and meatballs, and I had ricotta ravioli with a light and creamy sauce. Both were top-​notch.
I can’t recommend Salento enough, and I would totally go back next time I’m in Paris.

Petit resto italien e grande qualité dans le Marais 4ème où bien manger est rare.
Le chef-​gérant est italien, le service est exceptionnel, et le plats sont comme en Italie, delicieux et copieux.
Le ‘petit’ burrata était si copieux que moi et mon amie avons eu du mal à finir. Une affaire à 10 €.
J’ai ensuite chosi un pasta aux broccolis à 15 € et parmesan qui était al dente et delicieux. C’est rare de trouver la cuisine régionale italiennne d’excéption à Paris pour un bon prix.
Dessert — laisse tomber!
Seul suggestion — ils ont que deux vins à verre ce qui est dommage car ils ont des bons vins itlaiens et aucun figure parmi les vins proposés au verre.
Sinon, une exceptionnelle adresse — on y retournera les yeux fermés.

C’était bon et le repas était bon marché, pour une zone très touristique.

Randomly popped into this resto after spending a few hours in the Modern Art Museum in the Pompidou Centre. Dishes are simple, quickly prepared, and downright delicious. I had a escalope of chicken in marsala wine sauce, which was tender and moist, and accompanied by rigatoni in an amazing mushroom sauce. It was so good that I might have floated out of the restaurant when I was done. Best yet, the meal was quite reasonably priced — especially being in such a tourist area.

Pour 50EUR par personne nous avons tres bien mangé: apéritif entrée plat dessert vin.
Les rigatonis a la crème de truffe et san daniel etaient somptueux, un des rares endroits ou il est possible de decouvrir la burrata.
Les desserts n’etaient pas en reste non plus et le service tres sympatique et attentionne. Il n’est pas rare de se faire offrir un ptit limoncello :)
