Un gag cet hôtel à fuir impérativement!!! Le seul avantage est la localisation. Le tarif est abusif pour ce que c’est, une location de chambre qui né devrait même pas être une chambre en France on considérait plus ca comme une cage à lapin, franchement même un formule 1 est moins cher et plus propre!!! Nous avons séjourné 4 jours là bas sans que le ménage né soit fait pendant tout le séjour. Le 4eme après plusieurs plaintes à la réception on nous a donné des draps et serviettes propres à changer sois même, avec un balais et une pelle pour nettoyer notre propre chambre cela nous a bien amusé. En guise de geste commercial nous avons eu 2 verres offert au bar de l’hôtel. Nous avons remonté nos verres dans les chambres car nous les avions pas terminé. Après une plainte de notre voisin de chambre qui estimait que nous faisions trop de bruit les vigiles de l’hôtel nous on demandé de quitter notre chambre car notre voisin né pouvait pas dormir et on le gênait. Lorsque nous leur avont ouvert la porte ils ont vu nos verres d’alcool et nous ont dit que nous n’avions pas le droit de boire de l’alcool dans les chambres ni de manger et ont estimé que nous avions fumé dans la chambre alors que celle-​ci embomait la cigarette depuis notre arrivée. Une fois à la réception, le réceptionniste de nuit nous a demandé 100 € de dédommagement en justifiant que dans le règlement de l’hôtel nous n’avions pas le droit de fumer ni de boire dans les chambres. Nous avons refusé de payer ce sois disant dédommagement il nous a alors demandé de quitter immédiatement l’hôtel, nous avons refusé et c’est alors qu’il a appelé la police qui est arrivée à peine 10min après. Nous avons voulu expliquer à la police ce qui s’était passée ils n’ont même pas chercher à comprendre et nous ont escorté à notre chambre avec les 2 vigiles de l’hôtel ainsi que le fameux réceptionniste de nuit. Et la sincèrement on pensait vraiment que c’était une caméra cachée!!! Alors très franchement évitez cet hôtel miteux et abusif car pour le tarif vous pouvez trouver moins cher ou pour le même tarif un plus grand confort (60 € la nuit pour une cage à lapin avec «salle de bain privative»)

Un hôtel sympa pour y passer quelques jours, bonne ambiance et personnel sympa ! Les chambres de deux sont assez grandes et bien organisées, la salle de bain privée est en revanche très petite mais ça reste très bien pour le prix ! L’hotel est très près du S-​Bahn, mais tout de même un peu éloigné du centre ville

Didn’t stay there, so can’t speak to that. Just went in to the bar a few times to meet some fellow travelers. I have to give a shoutout to the always chipper bartenders and the good deals on shots. This place isn’t amazing, but I’m sure its a lot of fun to stay in.

The hotel staff are the best part of it. Prices are good. A little bit too loud for a relaxing stay. Rooms are clean (tried 2 Bed with shower/​toilet). Sometimes it is hard to skip the daily cleaning plan (no «do not disturb» sign)!

Okay, just realized that I am well out of the age demographic for this place, being in my mid-​40s. I will say it is clean but the food downstairs, and the layout, is geared to a younger crowed and I could definitely hear the dance club from my room. It didn’t keep me from falling asleep but if you need quite to go to slumber land, and go to be at ten eleven, versus 2 am or 3 am, this place may not be for you. In addition, no furniture in the room besides beds and a sink. It sort of felt like being in a futuristic prison cell.
So, if you are in your early twenties, I think you will love this place and yes, excellent price. If you are older and would like a few more amenities, you might want to consider paying a bit more and staying at more of a hotel versus a hostel.

Length of stay: 4 nights
Room: Clean private room with two twin beds and a private bath. Room was small and rectangular. Bathroom was really small. Shower was barely enough space for one person to shower. Pillows were a bit lumpy.
Room amenities: Small dresser, towels, and a bar of soap.
Location: Right off of the S-​Landberger Allee station. It’s far from the main area, such as Mitte. However, the U-​Bahn and S-​Bahn lines are really easy to navigate and within a 15 to 20 minute ride. There is an Italian and Middle Eastern restaurant around the corner of the hostel.
Wifi: Free in the dining area.
Cost: Really cheap. Cost was 110 euros for four nights.
Overall, it was just what we needed which was a cheap place to sleep. It was also a plus that the receptionists spoke English and provided us recommendations on where to eat.

In February I went to Germany for a week with my best friend and co, he being the one to take care of all the static arrangements and I filled in otherwise. I like hotels, I find them to be an important part of my holiday and I can be a proper dickhead about it, so when Eddi told me he’d booked us in a hostel, I was less than impressed.
When we rolled up on the first night I was surprised to find it quite ‘hotel like’ in layout and scale, a much better first impression than hostels in Milan, Manchester and Dublin I’ve had the displeasure of using in the past (the Milanese episode involved being greeted with the sight of a still-​smoking burnt out car). The staff on the front desk were multi-​lingual, friendly and helpful, and our room was basic but just what we needed for the purpose of our trip (Eddi had booked a four person room out for the three of us), and was very good value for money.
It was located near enough to where most of our plans were, with quick access to Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain and Neukolln. On one side of the hostel was a U-​Bahn station, and on the otherside was a tram station, so getting around Berlin was easy (there was a great pizza place in the U-​Bahn station, fyi)
The communal area and the bar looked like they came from a cyberpunk comic (a big thing I was in to when I lived in Germany as a kid) so that brought a whole load of godo childhood memories back. The barstaff were the most upbeat, enthusiastic people I’ve met all year, and they had a range of planned activities within the bar amongst guests that added to the community feel. Happy Hour was a bit of a train wreck for us on the first night — Martell was 1 Euro a shot and Jim Beam was 2 Euros a shot — the shots were 40ml rather than 25ml we’re used to in the UK!
Overall, it gets 4 stars for being very, very good, and an extra star for shattering my own silly perceptions.

Tres bonne auberge de jeunesse pour voyage entre amis. A proximité du tramway qui va direct au centre ville, c’est très pratique. Le prix est raisonnable.

Pros: clean and well priced (our weekday rate was great, but our Saturday night was three times the price — a but strange). We were upgraded to a four person room for just me and the mister, which is cool but I really don’t need that many beds. The private bathroom was small and the equipment was a but worn down, but I can overlook that. The staff was really nice — they have their brand down solid of being a fun place that provides everything you need but at a great price.
Cons: it’s a but far from the main core of Berlin. The train service runs well so it’ll get you there in about 10 to 15 minutes, but after a long day of walking around its a tiring trek back home. Wifi is only available in the main floor (really loud in the evenings), and is terrible when people start skyping or facetiming.
I didn’t have the breakfasts but went downstairs to see what I was missing — bread, cheese and ham slices, with juice from the fountain. For 5 €, I was okay skipping that. The dinners here were pretty good, especially if you get the 4 € coupon.
Overall it’s definitely good for a budget place, and a variety of people stay here during their visit to Berlin, old and young (elevators and handicap accessibility ftw!). Front desk is available ²⁴⁄₇ which was awesome since we checked out at 6am. I would consider this place again, but may also look into the Mitte location to be more central.

Die Zimmer sind so klein, dass man sich zu zwei nicht drin bewegen kann.
Sie sind sehr hellhörig.
Das Personal ist wahnsinnig unfreundlich, das Frühstück kann man kaum Frühstück nennen.
Klar, es ist günstig, aber da lege ich lieber ein paar Euro mehr drauf und habe ein schöneres Zimmer so versaut es einem ja den Urlaub.

This place is quite popular. It’s one of the most crowded hostels that I’ve been to. The environment and vibe that they setup is on-​point for a hostel.
The rooms are good and clean. They have a very vibrant bar with black lights and all. I went to an organized pub crawl. The organizer did a great job and the bars we went to were fun enough. The group were very sociable.
The breakfast was decent as well. I highly recommend this place when staying in Berlin. Also do go on the pub crawl. Berlin awesome!

Wir waren für 3 nächte in diesem Hostel, es war sauber was absolut positiv hervor zu heben ist! Außerdem ist die Straßenbahn nahe gelegen, was für uns wichtig war, da zur zeit schienenersatzverkehr für die s Bahn in dem Bereich besteht, so konnte man trotz dessen schnell zum Alexanderplatz und von da aus weiter gelangen!
Nachts war es jedoch extrem hellhörig, das Personal sorgte zwar vor der Tür für Ruhe, jedoch nicht auf den Gängen, was zu drei absolut schlaflosen nächten führte! Fazit: für ein paar Nächte kann man es aushalten mal wenig schlaf zu bekommen, aber länger als 3 nächte hätte ich auch nicht ertragen, ich werde beim nächsten mal wohl ein kleineres Hostel ausprobieren!

Einfaches günstiges Hotel. Viele junge Leute, Schulklassen. Hatten Halbpension gebucht. Zimmer wie Etap mit Plastikdusche. Recht eng. Koffer muss auf dem Fußboden bleiben. Würde bei zwei Koffern mit dem Platz nicht reichen. Großes Lob an die Küche und den Service. Essen und frühstück sehr schmackhaft und reichlich. Guter kaffee. Freundliches Personal. Alles sehr sauber. WLAN für eine stunde kostenlos, dann muss bezahlt werden.

Wir (drei Studenten) wollten aufgrund eines mehrtägigen Aufenthalts in Berlin eine möglichst günstige, aber gute Unterkunft und haben uns für das Generator Hostel an der Haltestelle Landsberger Allee entschieden.
Die Verkehrsanbindung mit S– und Straßenbahn zum Alexanderplatz sind sehr gut, so dass wir vom Hostel aus alles gut erreichen konnten.
Das Hostel ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes schlicht: riesiger Plattenbau. Die Inneneinrichtung im Empfangsbereich und in den Begegnungsräumen mutete nach 80er-​Jahre und Disko bei Tageslicht an. Ich erwartete schlimmstes in Bezug auf unser Zimmer, was sich jedoch nicht bewahrheitete.
Das Personal im Hostel habe ich als sehr freundlich erlebt, auch wenn mich das Du an der Rezeption nicht sonderlich begeisterte.
Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Dusche und WC gebucht. Als wir es betraten, waren wir erstaunt, wie groß es war. Zwei Einzelbetten, ein Doppelbett, genug Platz zum Gehen. Ein verbeulter Eisenschrank.
Die Dusch– und WC-​Kabine war sehr klein. Ein sehr korpulenter Mensch hätte es vielleicht durch die Tür geschafft, aber vermutlich nicht in die Duschkabine oder auf die Toilette. Die Duschkabine erinnerte stark an die von Fährenkabinen. Warmwasser kam schnell.
An der Dusche befand sich leider keine Brause. Ein Wasserstrahl spritzte aus erhöhter Position herab. Sehr dicke Leute (tut mir leid) würden keinen Spaß am Duschen haben.
Wir hatten Handtücher gestellt bekommen, obgleich die Internetseite besagte, dass man ab 3 Personen selbst welche mitbringen müsste.
Alles war sauber. Die Putzfrau (oder der Putzmann) hat täglich die Mülleimer geleert.
Die Betten waren bezogen. Die Matratzen dick, weich und etwas durchgelegen. Auf dem Metallrost des eisernen Bettgestells lag eine Holzplatte als Matratzenunterlage. Bei jeder Bewegung quietschte und knarrte es. Allmählich austauschwürdig
Draußen vor dem Fenster habe ich einen Container gesehen und Leute beobachtet, die Inventar aus dem Hostel schleppten. Anscheinend werden schon einige Zimmer renoviert/​ausgemistet.
Die Nächte im Hostel sind recht laut, vor allem am Freitag Abend bis spät/​früh in den Folgetag hinein, ungeachtet der Ruhezeit ab 23 Uhr. Besonders auffällig war das Gekreische und Getrampel von Gruppen junger Damen, vermutlich Schülerinnen. Egal ob Deutsch, Französisch, Dänisch Irgendwie waren sie alle laut.
Mir persönlich hat das nicht viel ausgemacht. Mich belästigen ja eher laute Musik, Zigarettenrauch, Fäkal– und Alkoholgestank. Das gab es im Hostel zum Glück nicht.
Meine Kommilitoninnen hatten dank Ohrenstöpsel einen ebenso erholsamen Schlaf wie ich.
Die Fenstervorhänge waren leider nicht mehr so gut intakt. Die Heizung funktionierte.
Das Frühstück war in Ordnung. Es gab recht trockne Brötchen und Weißbrotscheiben. Diverse Wurstaufschnitte, zwei Käsesorten (Edamer und Gouda), Konfitüre, Honig, Nougatcreme, Butter und Margarine. An Müsli gab es Schokoflakes oder Cornflakes (oder beides Gemischt).
An Getränken habe ich Milch (sogar einmal eine Packung laktosefreie Milch und Sojamilch) gesehen, Kaffee und diverse Teesorten (Beutel, die man sich mit heißem Wasser aufgießen konnte). Kakao habe ich leider keinen gesichtet.
Am Sonntag war das Frühstück etwas abwechslungsreicher, denn es gab an dem Tag noch Joghurt, Eier, Frischkäse und noch mehr Konfitürensorten. Vielleicht noch anderes, aber ich habe nicht auf alles geachtet.
Auschecken ging sehr unkompliziert. Schlüsselkarten in einen Kasten an der Rezeption werfen und fertig war die Chose.
Insgesamt also eine gute Unterkunft für Leute, die Wert auf Sauberkeit legen, aber auf Luxus weitgehend verzichten können.

Kamen an und hatten ein Private Zimmer mit Dusche/​WC gebuchtwar aber laut dem Personal nicht mehr frei, wir wurden vor die Wahl gestellt: einen Raum ohne Dusche/​WC für die Hälfte oder nach einem Tag Shopping in Berlin nochmal losfahren und ein komlett neues Hostel/​Unterkunft suchenda haben wir natürlich den Raum dort genommen, auch wenn wir schon ein wenig genervt waren, das man uns erst vor Ort mitteilte, das das von uns gebuchte Zimmer gar nicht mehr verfügbar war
Zimmer war winzig, mit Doppelstockbett, aber was sollten wir machenhaben das so akzeptiert, bei einer Nacht kommt es ja auch kaum drauf an, war froh das wir nicht länger geblieben sind
Alles in allem hätte man uns einfach vorher mal informieren können, das das Zimmer leider belegt ist, dann hätten wir uns drauf einstellen können oder nochmal schauen können
Sonst die Lage ok, Anbindung super, das Personal war auch ganz nettaber so ein Fehler muss doch wirklich nicht sein

Hier waren wir mal zur Unterkunft eine Woche während der Studienfahrt. Alles in Allem hatten wir ein Dach über dem Kopf und was zu essen die wichtigsten Grundbedürfnisse waren damit befriedigt. Viel mehr kann man aber hier ehrlich auch nicht erwarten. Wer schon mal in einem der anderen Generator war (London, Dublin, Kopenhagen, Hamburg) der weiß was ihn erwartet. Für alle anderen kann man zusammenfassend sagen:
Eine relativ preiswerte Unterkunft, dafür gibts aber auch Doppelstockbetten mit viel oder garkeiner Federung, ein mageres Frühstücksbuffet und eine Bahnhofsatmosphäre (inkl. der Betrunkenen) überall und zu jeder Zeit.

A great place for a short stay. We are ‘mature’ travellers and although a lot of young people stay here, we felt quite comfortable in the place. We had a twin bedded room with a small en suite. Perfectly adequate for those who just need a place to sleep at the end of a busy day touring the city. So much to see in Berlin, we didn’t want to spend much time in the hostel. A lot of school parties stayed there and a lot of the entertainment, etc was geared for the younger ones. It has a nice bar and ‘happy hour’ was very reasonable. The small beer garden leading off was pleasant. The room décor was rather striking, in-​keeping with the bright green and blue of the communal areas — not everyone’s taste but can be lived with. The breakfast was adequate and one bonus was that cooked food was available in the evening. There was easy access by different modes of transport into the city centre. For the price, I consider that it was good value for the money — you only get the Ritz if you pay Ritz prices.

I stayed at the Generator in 2008. It was AMAZING. the hallways had all neon lights, the rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly.
the downstairs bar was INSANE. i had a great time drinking lots of alcohol and dancing h ahahaha. memories.
breakfast was only 1 euro the next morning and i don’t remember if it was all you can eat but it was definitely enough to fill me up. I would go back again and will be back again the next time I stop in Berlin.

My friends and I recently went to Berlin for a brief holiday, and having already travelled she recommended we stay in the Generator Hostel. I had no ideas to the contrary so we all agreed and paid something crazily cheap like 15 Euros per night for 3 nights. So that was the initial bonus above everything else: this place was nice and cheap!
Sure enough, after an epic snowy Sunday journey from the Airport we found our way to the hostel, which was pretty easy to find even though all the standard means of transport had stopped (with the exception of the bus we took) so that’s a boon as well. The place is huge and quite punky looking from the inside, I suppose it’s «down with the kids», which unfortunately reminded me that I no longer am 18. *Cry*
Nonetheless, the staff at reception were lovely and friendly, all spoke English so saved us from failing to communicate in German, and everything was in order. Our shared private room had a more comfortable bed than my own at home, perhaps this say more about my bed than theirs though, and a mini en suite. Although it really was mini the shower worked really well and hot water was instant!
The bar downstairs is decent enough, serving an array of standard spirits and lagers etc. There are lots of tables, albeit the punky metal theme continued, which makes it feel a little like a school cafeteria-​cum-​bar. There are pool tables for those who require a little more entertainment and the tv screens set about the place were playing a German MTV type channel incessantly. We happened to watch a delightful video of a «jingle rap» in which Santa threatens to kill people, before returning to the usual Robbie and Kylie etc! There is a noise curfew of 11pm though, and we did get told off for merely talking at a normal level around 11.15pm, so that at least ensures you a good night sleep!
Now to the breakfast, since that’s the main thing that occurred each morning. Wow! Breakfast is included and it is copious. Everyone queues with their tray and has a choice of three different kinds of cereal, bread rolls, bread slices, jams, hams and cheeses. You can of course be a pig and take four rolls if you like, but I happily found a bowl of cereal and two rolls sufficed until lunch. Free apple juice, orange, tea and coffee are thrown into the mix and all in all it’s a delightful arrangement.
That the stay was so cheap, and yet so generous in terms of breakfast, are definitely the pointers that nudge me into a four star review. I would recommend to any weary traveller or group of friends!

Das Generator Hostel is nen verdammt gutes und vor Allem preiswertes Hostel für Jugendliche. Né Freundin und nen Kumpel von mir haben hier mal an der Bar und als Nachtwache gearbeitet und mir echt heiße Storys erzählt. Da scheints bei den ganze Jugendgruppen die hier gastieren gut ab zu gehen.
Diese Freunde haben mich auch das ein oder ander Mal auf nen «kleinen» Umtrunk an die Bar des Generators eingeladen und jeder dieser Abende war nen Highlight.
Im Generators wird jede Nacht zum Tag. Irgendwann…

Das Generator.
Eine riesengroße Beherbergungseinrichtung in einem unauffäligen Hinterhof.(bin dreimal vorbei gefahren) Nach Fragen zum Parken wird man dann auf die gegenüberliegende Straßenseite geschickt. Kostenloses Parken. Rund um die Uhr!
Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen und reicht von mehligen Brötchen zu Wurst und Käse. Gemüse (Tomate, Gurke usw.) kann man suchen aber nicht finden. Alternative, in unmittelbarer Nähe ist ein Norma, da kann man sich damit eindecken und unter neidischen Blicken der Tischnachbarn verzehren.
Das Internet ist gebührenpflichtig und an der etwas wortkargen Rezeption zu bestellen.
Im hinteren Bereich des Hostels ist eine Bar mit Biergarten. Pech hat der, der sein Zimmer zu der Barseite hat und somit die Nächte lang irgendwelche Schunkellieder zum Einschlafen bekommt.
Die andere Seite, also die zum Hof, erscheint mir etwas ruhiger, jedoch wird man auch hier das ein oder andere mal aus dem Schlaf gerissen, weil zurückkehrendes Tourivolk zu tief in die Flasche schaute.
Die Zimmereinrichtung ist knapp bemessen. Zwei beleibtere Personen müssten sich absprechen wer zuerst das Bett verlässt, ansonsten Feststeckungsgefahr. Die Dusche ähnelt einer Weltraumkapsel. Wurde halt nachträglich installiert und das merkt man auch.
Die Verbindung zum Generator ist in Ordnung. Die Lage etwas weit weg vom Schuss.
Zum Vertreib am Abend gibt es die Bar in der es immer was zum erleben gibt, ein paar Spielgeräte und viel viel Partyvolk.
Deswegen würde ich das Generator auch nicht mehr nehmen weil mir mein Schlaf heilig ist.
Wer also Party will, dem der Schlaf nebensächlich ist und die volle Weizenbrötchenladung für sich braucht, herzlich Willkommen im Generator :)

I stayed on the bottom bunk at the Generator, and one of the first things I observed upon arrival was that someone had carved «suicide» into the bed above. Which was, as some might say, Not A Good Sign. The entire room was orange which is literally never okay, and the whole hostel was just really disconcerting. The canteen area freaked me out, everything was a bit unclean, and just the sheer SCALE of the place made me feel like I was in a Goosebumps novel. Or a juvenile detention centre. Sure, I’ve never experienced either of these things but hey, I’ve got as good an imagination as the next man and I want you to trust me when I say that R.L. Stine would have snapped this place up as plot material in a SECOND.
However, I’m making the uncharacteristically generous decision to give it 2 stars because a drunken friend who we irresponsibly packed off to the Generator in a taxi on her own without so much as a second thought distinctly recalled the next day being escorted somewhere by «men dressed in lime green». So unless she’d drunk herself into a hallucinatory state I am going to hazard a guess that these were hostel staff, in which case, well done guys, shame you couldn’t have recovered her phone as well but hey, we can’t have it all. You done good. Shame about the human experimental facility you’re working in.

I found this hostel to be very good value for money. Yes, they do have a policy not to change bed linen or give new towels everyday, however if you request it they have no issue providing these services for you.
Beds are comfortable, location is perfect, the happy hour in the bar is very happy indeed. Unlike the previous review, I found the staff very helpful. On my last day I lost my keycard and was quite panicked over it, as places I’ve stayed in the past have either charged me or given me a telling off. Yet, the man at reception was very friendly and understanding and assured me it wasn’t a problem. They also posted some postcards for me, saving me the bother of searching for the local post office. To me they seemed very accommodating for the guests.
Of course, as with any youth hostel you have to expect a certain amount of youths gone wild rowdiness, especially with the young american travellers who are too young to drink in there own country. This does make a fair bit of noise, but is totally forgiveable considering I paid 16 euro a night for a private room.

Bevor ich nach Berlin zog war das Generator immer meine erste Anlaufstelle für Wochenend-​Übernachtungen.
Als Backpacker würde man mich wohl eher nicht einkategorisieren, aber ich lege wert auf Funktionalität und die ist im Generator durchaus gegeben.
Was man hier tut ist nur das Nötigste: Duschen in einer Massenduschanlage mit (immerhin!) einzelnen Kabinen und Schlafen. Für Jugendliche /​junge Erwachsene durchaus ausreichend.
In den Zimmern gibt es abschließbare Metallschränke (eigenes Schloss nicht vergessen! Oder für 4,50Euro am Empfang eins kaufen) die leider nicht mehr alle einwandfrei funktionieren.
Die Betten sind durchweg Doppelstockbetten aus Metall und Nummeriert. Welches Bett-​Nr. einem gehört wird am Empfang expliziet zugewiesen.
Man muss sich auf eventuelle Unruhe in der Nacht /​Lärm im Nebenzimmer oder von den eigenen herantorkelnden Zimmergenossen einstellen, aber meine Erfahrung sagt, dass die meisten Rücksicht nehmen. Vor allem wenn noch jemand Fremdes anwesend ist.
Die Zimmer sind vorwiegend Männlein und Weiblein gemischt, im Sommer zu bestimmten Veranstaltungszeiten kann es in Berlin auch schon mal eng werden noch ein Bett in einem Zimmer zu ergattern. Ein reines Mädchenzimmer ist vorhanden, aber meist ausgebucht.
Einzelzimmer oder kleine Familienzimmer gibt es auch — aber dann deutlich teurer. Für älteres Publikum oder Leute mit empfindlichem Schlaf nicht zu empfehlen.
Der Service am Empfang ist freundlich und mehrsprachig.
Das Frühstück ist auch in Ordnung.

Wir waren auf Klassenfahrt in Berlin und haben hier genächtigt. Ich würd sagen im Großen und Ganzen ist es vollkommen in Ordnung zum Übernachten!
Erstmal mus man sagen, dass es wirklich gut gelegen ist, da die Haltestelle ziemlich nahe ist und man nur wenige Minuten dorthin läuft. Auch ist es wirklich günstig. Da wir im Klassenverband eingereist sind haben wir natürlich Private-​Rooms bekommen, in meinem Fall ein 4-​Bett Zimmer. Wobei allerdings der Raum durch eine Wand getrennt war und jeweils 2 Personen zusammen in einem Abschnitt geschlafen haben (Ist natürlich bei allen ZImmern unterschiedlich). Dazu gab es ein kleines. wirklich SEHR kleines Bad in dem man grade Duschen konnte. Es wurde versucht auf nem quadratmeter alles wichtige unterzubringen Toilette und Wacshbecken auf der einen Seite und Dusche auf der anderen.
Also für einen kurzen Urlaub sicherlich okay weil mehr braucht man nicht Was ich allerdings grässlich fand sind die schrecklichen, augenkrebserregenden grellen funky Farben, wie es auf der Website vom Generator so steht
Unsere Etwage war dnkelblau und Zitronengelb gehalten. Wunderschöné Viva-​Farben. Andere Etagen sind dagegen rot-​blau. Vielleicht ein bsischen angenehmer.
Da es ein Backpackerhostel ist gibt es große Schlafräume in denen bis zu 12 Leute schlafen.
Das Erdgescoss ist ziemlich modern eingerichtet und alles ist mit so Metallplatten abgedeckt.
Die Bar wirkt ein bisschen cyber-​mäßig durch so stranges NeonlichtFrühstück ist im Preis enthalten. Soweit ich mich erinnern kann wars auch ganz gut und man konnte sich ordentlich satt essen.
Wie gesagt es ist in Ordnung für jeden, dessen Ziel es ist Berlin zu sehen und nicht im Hostel zu gammeln wobei man das wohl auch tun kann aber ersteres ist wohl eher empfehlenswert.

Ich kann mich erinnern, als sei es gestern gewesen. Eine Woche mit der Klasse ab ins Generator.
Preise und Unterkunft sind spitze.
Allerdings fand ich die Aufseher, die nachts da herum gingen grauenvoll. Denn ein bisschen Spaß muss sein. Aber andererseits finde ich sie auch gut, denn sie dienen für Schutz der anderen Leute. Schutz im Sinne, dass keine Schlägereien oder Beschädigungen stattfinden.

Ein mal und nie wieder! Das war die reinste zumutung! Beim nächsten mal gebe ich en paar Euronen mehr aus. Aber eins muss man sagen Biligger ist dann wirklich nur noch auf der Straße.

ein günstiges hostel mit guter verkehrsanbiendung. im preis inbegriffen sind die übernachtung und frühstück. schlafen kann man entweder in mehrbettzimmern (mit bad auf dem gang) oder in doppelzimmern, die dann auch teilweise ein eigenes badezimmer haben. bei den badezimmern handelt es sich dann allerdings eher um eine nasszelle und in der dusch kann man sich gerade mal um seine eigene achse drehenaber da man bei einem berlinbesuch eh den ganzen tag unterwegs ist, reicht das generator hostel zum schlafen auf jeden fall aus!

Es un hotel bastante bueno para lo que vale.
Juvenil, donde puedes conocer a gente de otros paises, o incluso como me pasó a mi, que conocí a gente de la misma provincia de donde yo vivo.

Puedes escoger tener baño privado (eso fue lo que escogi yo) ó compartido.

Dieses riesen-​Hostel befindet sich direkt bei mir um die Ecke. Ich selbst habe hier noch nicht geschlafen, gehe aber auf der Landsberger Allee immermal einen Döner essen und genieße dabei die internationale Kulisse an Gästen in der Schlange des Bistros. Die kommen alle aus dem sehr modern ausgestalteten Generator um die Ecke. Das Teil sieht von innen aus wie eine spacige riesen-​Maschine und hat bis jezt immer Betten frei gehabt, wenn ich Freunde unterbringen musste. Meiner Meinung nach auf jeden Fall eine Platz-​Garantie.
Wer es etwas luxoriöser möchte und trotzdem nicht viel Geld ausgeben kann, sollte das baxpax downtown auschecken. Da gibts für ein paar mehr Euro ‘né Dachterrasse mit BBQ dazu. Wer es jedoch günstiger braucht, sollte ins Ostel, da findet man Betten am Ostbahnhof schon ab 9 Euro.

This Hostel is cheap but this does not mean the staff cannot be helpful. I arrived with a friend in a wheelchair and told them one of the tyres was flat! I needed advice about where to get an inner tube. The staff suggested a shop, which was handy and we fixed the problem, but the staff showed no concern for my friend. There was no asking about what his needs were. We was allocated a room on the 7^th floor! What if the 2x lifts had broken down? There was a disabled loo on ground floor but was out of action and lock broken. Pictures of this are here for all to see. Not once during the 5 days did ant member of staff help or talk to my friends about his disability. They did not show him the stair lift and how it works either.
We could not go to our room because they said it wouldn’t be ready till 2pm. We got to the hostel about midday. Later that evening when we pulled back the sheets it was noticeable that the sheets had not been changed! There was 3x different coloured hairs in mine! The next day the cleaned our room after i requested it.
The breakfast was ok. Just rolls meats, cheese & yogurt plus fruit juices & hot drinks.
The evening meal was just BBQ fodder really with a simple salad cabinet.
The average age was 18. The hostel was constantly loud. The youngsters were rude and didn’t think anything of it to pinch the lift of my disabled friend!
The staff were very young and untrained. It was worthless to ask them about trains or suggestions for day trips.
the bar was lovely but very loud! I might not be able to judge ages well but I did feel they were serving booze to underage hostel users. And put it this way I wouldn’t send a 14 year old virgin daughter here on a school trip. I think the reader can guess why.

Ein riesiges Jugend-​Hostel direkt am S-​Bahnhof Storkower Straße. Hier lässt es sich für billig Geld übernachten — aber dafür auch im 14-​Bett-​Zimmer.
Wem es Spass macht, bitte sehr, für mich ist das nichts, ich brauchen meinen (Schönheits)Schlaf…

Das Generator ist mit 850 Betten das größte Hostel in Berlin. Alles ist recht einfach gehalten und auf minimale Kosten ausgelegt, was sich manchmal negativ bemerkbar macht.
Ein– und Auschecken kann man rund um die Uhr und ohne großen bürokratischen Aufwand. Wer nur aufs Budget achten muss und keinen großen Wert auf Komfort legt — dies ist sicher eine gute Möglichkeit.

Preislich günstige, doch sehr unpersönliche Herberge. Ein riesiger Komplex mit 850 Betten (bis zu 8 Betten in einem Zimmer), häufig belegt mit nervigen englischen Jugendlichen auf Klassenfahrt (Es gibt wohl auch einen Generator in London). Im Erdgeschoss gibt es eine in Stahl und Neon gehaltene Bar, in der vorgenannte Teenager dann allabendlich von den in Deutschland vergleichsweise günstigen Alkoholpreisen, sowie ihren erwachenden Sexualtrieben profitieren. Alles in allem ein eher fades Vergnügen, doch bestimmt eine der billigsten Unterkünfte in Berlin.
