Habe in den letzten 2 Wochen 20 mal angerufen während der Öffnungszeiten um zu reservieren. Niemand geht ran! Online kann man nicht reservieren - es gibt keine e-Mail und auch keine Open table Integration- Frechheit!

Lo más irritante es que casi imposible poder reservar una mesa por teléfono porque nuca contestan. Si no fuera por ese gran detalle que hace imposible comer en el lugar, todo sería perfecto. La comida es muy fresca y muy bien preparada, pero que insoportable es llegar allá y que te diga, después de treinta minutos de bicicleta que no es posible comer sin reservas. Ahí dan ganas de matar a alguien.

schlecht organisiert. Einfach hinkommen geht nicht. Telefonisch vorbestellen auch nicht. Da entweder niemand abnimmt oder sofort wieder aufgelegt wird. Außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten geht niemand ran.
Essen ist prima — aber auch wo anders. Deshalb verschwende ich keine Zeit mehr damit, für Reservierung anzurufen.

Delicious sushi and very attentive waitstaff in a relaxed style. With floor tables, a low seated bar, as well as regular style tables, I really enjoyed to low key and inviting atmosphere. For a busy place, there was no hurry to finish your meal and move on.

…never ever got a place there… no possibility to make a reservation… even after calling 3 days in a row .no answer… though …nothing for me .this is unprofessional… could be good but only for stammgaeste LOL

Mein Lieblings Sushi. immer wieder gerne

Hier stimmt alles. Ich war am Nachmittag gegen zwei hier und fand genügend Platz, entweder an den Tischen oder an den japanisch typischen Plätzen auf dem Boden. Die Bedienung ist super freundlich und nett und versucht so schnell wie möglich die Kunden zu bedienen.
Sobald Platz genommen wurde erhielten wir kostenlosen Tee. Anschließend haben wir bestellt und erhielten sehr schnell Vorspeise und dann Hauptgang.
Ab drei wird hier wahrscheinlich Pause gemacht bis Abend, vorher wird aber noch mal zu jedem Gast gegangen und gefragt, ob noch weitere Bestellungen geplant sind.
Wir haben als Vorspeise drei verschiedene Suppen bestellt die lecker waren. Es war in der Garnelen Suppe leider nur eine Garnele aber okay. Unser Sushi als Hauptgang war sehr sehr lecker. Es wurde zudem erneut erklärt, was wir da auf dem Teller liegen haben.
Die Preise sind okay. Insgesamt ein wenig teurer als Sushi Delivery aber dafür passt auch einfach das Ambiente und alles drum herum.
Mir hat der Besuch hier sehr gefallen und ich komme definitiv wieder.

Ich kann den Hype so ganz und gar nicht nachvollziehen. Der Laden ist brechend voll — und ohne Reservierung geht hier anscheinend nix. Also wollten wir dieses Restaurant auch mal testen. Die Vorspeisen waren okay– aber nicht herausragend. Auf das Sushi haben wir ca eine geschlagene Stunde gewartet… und es war auch nur ganz Ok. Meine California Inside– Out waren zwar ganz kreativ angerichtet — aber mit Knoblauchsosse (Aioli). Die hat meiner Meinung nach so gar nichts auf Sushi zu suchen und hat leider den ganzen Geschmack ruiniert.
Fazit: wenn die ganzen Hipster aus irgendwelchen Kleinstädtchen das toll finden — bitte

Ich bin immer zufrieden.
Gutes Essen und gutes Alkohol.
Jetzt kann man auch tolle Whiskys trinken.

Finally an authentic and simple sushi restaurant with Japanese waitstaff and sushi chefs in Berlin! The sushi was extremely fresh and was just delicious, no frills sushi — with none of that fried/​baked/​cheese sushi nonsense.
Would also highly recommend the starters — the fried chicken was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside and the baked squid was one of the best squid dishes I’ve had. Service was very attentive — Best sushi in Berlin really isn’t an overstatement!

Finally we managed to get a seat at Sasaya. We got a place at the bar, with a nice view on the very active and productive Sushi chefs.
A quick look at the menu (additional daily specialties on a separate piece of paper), teaches us that the prices are very reasonable, both for food and drinks (€ 3 for a glass of Chardonnay)
We ordered the Roast beef Rosa (€ 5), the ginger/​grilled eggplant salad (€ 3) and the chef’s choice menu with 15 nigiri and 2 inside out rolls (€ 25). The starters were excellent, a surprisingly nice and tasteful salad with crunchy tempura.
The sushi was good as well. Although the menu offers a great variety of various nigiri and inside out rolls, we only got two to taste and those were good. Next time we’ll definitely try some more! One of the rolls was veggi (we normally wouldn’t have chosen that, but it was very tasty.
It is difficult to say what is our favorite sushi place in Prenzl’ Berg. For Sasaya we like the prices, the extensive menu, watching the chefs work and the fact that they offer so many types of fish (including tuna of different fat percentages). For Omoni, another one of our favorites (ran by a Korean chef though), the menu is more limited but all the options feel a bit more thought out and balanced. Also, the wines have been carefully selected, making sure there’s always a wine that fits your suhi choices best. The limited options do make that Omoni is not a place to visit week after week.
In both restaurants the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and watching the chefs prepare the sushi is a great experience. I guess we will frequently be visiting both!

Best Japanese restaurant in town (have to revise my earlier opinion). The sushi master is definitely worthwhile watching, so take a seat at the counter in front of him. We had several small dishes and sushi. Have been there a couple of times now and can only recommend. Whatever you choose — it’s gonna be tasty.

Habe das Sasaya durch eine Empfehlung gefunden, und war angenehm überrascht. Reservierung hat sehr gut geklappt, Bestellung wurde sehr gut aufgenommen und auch rasch gebracht.
Service war immer aufmerksam und freundlich, von dieser Seite kann ich nichts negatives berichten. Sitzplätze an der Sushi-​Bar waren kein Problem, weder driftete Küchengeruch zu uns, noch liefen die Köche ständig vor der Nase herum. Man schaut halt nicht durch die Fenster auf die Strasse… daher vielleicht nicht geeignet für People Viewer.
Sushi war von der Menge und Qualität sehr, sehr gut: der Reis war locker, der Fisch frisch, und es war nicht 50% Lachs /​50% Thunfisch, sondern gut durchmischt mit Dorade, Makrele, etc. Großer Pluspunkt: häufig bekommt man woanders große Reisballen mit einer kleinen Portion Fisch — hier nicht, beim Fisch spielt die Musik. Es gibt auch etwas ausgefallenere Kreationen auf der Karte (z.B. mit Pflaume, hat mir gut geschmeckt!), aber es wird nicht Hipster-​crazy mit Trüffeln oder Gold verziert.
Preise sind angemessen, gerade für die Qualität. Sasaya wedelt nicht mit 50% Rabatten herum, ist dennoch nicht überteuert. Für 2 Personen mit ordentlichem Hunger lagen wir bei 60 Euro und haben, wie gesagt, sehr gut gegessen.
Kleiner Hinweis für Freunde der Kreditkarte: es werden nur EC-​Karten akzeptiert, keine Kreditkarten. Steht auf derTrinkgeld wollten sie auch nicht auf den eingetragenen Betrag buchen, daher bräuchtet ihr dafür etwas Bargeld.
Insgesamt kann ich die Empfehlung die ich erhalten habe klar weitergeben, ohne Einschränkungen.

Living in Berlin for some months now i was looking for a good sushi place, i have to say this is the best i have seen ever. Super friendly, english speaking staff, jazz playing in the background, great views in the sushi bar. The cooks are super fast and always greeting the new arrivals as they cut away. Love every bit of the experience. BUT book in advance, 1 – 2 hours minimum during the week.

Best sushi ever! Cosy and not too big restaurant, so good to go for an intimate dinner. I would absolutely go there again when in Berlin.

Geht leider ganz und gar nicht. Respektloser sarkastischer Umgangston der dilettantischen Servicekräfte. Wir sind noch nie so schlecht in einem Restaurant bedient worden wie hier.
Ganz ehrlich: In Berlin gibt es wirklich viel bessere Sushi-​Restaurants als das Sasaya. Viele Berliner meiden es sowieso wegen der schlechten Reputation das es eh seit Jahren geniesst. Achtung Touri-​Falle!

Das Sasaya bietet sehr sehr leckeres Essen an, das ohne Wenn und Aber. War da schon ein paar Mal, das letzte Mal mit ein paar Freundinnen und wir haben regelrecht das Geld verfressen.
Es gibt allerdings dennoch Sternenabzug: Die Kellnerinnen sind ziemlich langsam (manche auch schwer verständlich) UND um überhaupt einen Platz zu bekommen, MUSS man vorher anrufen. Ohne Reservierung kommt man einfach nicht rein, egal wie leer der Laden ist. Problem: Es geht keiner bzw sehr selten einer ans Telefon.
Ich wollte letztens sehr gerne wieder mit einer Freundin hin und habe 10x (!!) quer über den Tag angeklingelt (das auch jeweils fast 1 Minute lang) — keiner ging ran.

Exzellente Qualität für Berliner Verhältnisse. Ehrliche Sushi. Probiert unbedingt was von der Tageskarte.

I have waited TWO MONTHS to find a good sushi bar and waited FOREVER to finally get a reservation here… and boy, am I glad I did.
Sasaya is simply designed, upscale but inexpensive and honestly some of the best sushi I have ever had (and I am from LA). Although I wish I was sitting on one of the floor tables they have and not the sushi bar, I still had an amazing food experience.
I started with a miso soup which was filled with tofu and seaweed and the fried baby crabs which were UNREAL. They were soft and fresh and delicious. Moving on to the next part of my meal, I got 7 pieces of sushi (2 salmon, 2 tuna, 1 sea bream, 2 yellowtail) all melted in my mouth! I also got a toro roll which was tiny but delicious and I wished I had ordered toro sushi, well I asked but they ran out of toro after my maki roll. To finish the meal I had the green tea cake which was at first very tasteless and spongey but by the end of eating it (with whipped cream) I wanted more.
My friend got the 22 piece nigiri and a seaweed salad — both which looked tasty and he said were! Another friend got the salmon miso and a rainbow roll which was significantly larger than the toro roll I ordered and also looked delicious — she even said the mayo in the roll was good!
While at Sasaya I saw people coming in to get take-​out… which I will now definitely do now as well as eating in (when I can get a reservation).
Overall it was a fantastic experience, just be ready to wait a while for your food as there are only 2 sushi chefs for the entire place.

i use to go there for lunch, because in the evenings it´s really hard to get a table if you have no reservation.
nice atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food — especially the udon and soba soups, and the daily changing small dishes.

No doubt this is the best sushi restaurant in Berlin. My wife and I are Americans living in Berlin and we’ve been looking for months before finding Sasaya. It’s a little out of the way, a short walk from the nearest station but well worth it. People are nice, food is great, saki is wonderful. We highly recommend this place. We are self proclaimed foodies who love many types of food, especially sushi.

Auch ich Singe ein Loblied auf diesen Laden =) Auch vor den Öffnungszeiten 18.00 Uhr schön ca 8 Gäste vor der Tür, inklusive mir (naja ein Platz wird schon frei sein), so wars auch zum Glück für mich. Der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend, auch das Ambiente sprach mich sehr an. So stöberte ich durch die Karte die nach meinem wissen sehr überzeugend authentisch wirkte und nichtalltägliches japanisches bot. Zum trinken gabs Calpico, steh auf dieses süße Zeug, der wurde mit 2 Euro fair berechnet.
Zum Essen, kam alles in einer Top Zeit. Vorab gab es als amuse, eingelegten Rosenkohl, und war toll dieses eher erdige Gemüse mal mit säurenoten erschmecken zu dürfen, gefiel mir.
Ich bestellte:
Softshell Crab mit seiner Majo, also frittierte Softshellcrab mit Krustentiermajo, sehr sehr gelungen, von Geschmack und Konsistenz !
Danach kam Miso Suppe mit Venusmuscheln und Schluppen, auch sehr schmackhaft aber halt nur Misosuppe.
Zwischendrin noch gebratener Pulpospiess von Kopf und Knorpel, naja der Name sagt es ja schon, war alles in allem trocken aber nicht Unwohlschmeckend, nur die Soße darunter gab mir recht wenig.
Dann kamen wir zu meinen bestellten Nigiris und da zeigte sich die ganze Klasse des Sushimeisters, die Frische, der Reis, einfach Bombastisch, ich hatte Seeigelrogen, Lachs, Toro (fetter Bauch vom Thunfisch), Thunfisch, Seeohr, echt sehr gut!
Die SushiKreation Florian schaltete meine Geschmacksnerven dann vollends auf Ausflippen und Genießen, kann leider die Komponenten nicht mehr ganz nennen, waren aber sehr viele und diese war im Inside out Sektor anzusiedeln, Von Knusprig bis weich, spicy, Sesam und frisch geschnittener Lauch der diese Zwiebelnoten noch zum besten gab !!! Wurde mit 12 Euro berechnet und ist die teuerste Rolle auf der Karte, aber Hey sofort wieder würde ich diese Kreation bestellen =)
Danach gabs noch eine Spicy Tuna Roll die natürlich auch sehr schmackhaft war. Rundum war ich zufrieden und satt, werde nächstes mal reservieren, Tipp von der Servicedame am besten 3 Tage vorher und mich weiterhin in die Hände des sehr Sympathischen Sushimeister begeben ! Gebe meine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung !!!

Nachdem wir vor vielen Jahren das letzte Mal hier waren und sehr gut gegessen hatten wollten wir heute mittags nach einem Spaziergang wieder mal hin. Leider wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass unsere 4 jährige Tochter nicht erwünscht sei, weil Kinder selten wirklich ruhig sein und deshalb im Restaurant nur stören würden. Wir haben das Restaurant dann sehr leise wieder verlassen.

Was für eine Frechheit… wir bestellten Mittags gemischtes Sushi u.a. fertige Menüs und bekamen für 50 euro (!!!) lediglich gekochten Lachs und 3 Nigiri mit rohem Lachs (was ich als «authentisches» Sushi erwartet habe, diese auch mit dem tranigen grauen Rand. Auf Beschwerde wurde nicht reagiert, der volle Preis kassiert. Zudem war es mega ungemütlich und von Service keine Spur. Nie, nie wieder… lieber Abonim oder Mikoto bzq. aiko, halber Preis, viel besserer Service und Essen, schade dass ich einen Stern geben muß.

Reservierung ist Pflicht. Tolles Ambiente. Bestes Sushi in Berlin, ausnahmslos empfehlenswert. Für Thunfisch Liebhaber ist Toro ein Must-​Eat!
Den dortigen Service habe ich nicht als negativ empfunden — zwar hat er mich auch nicht vom Hocker gehauen. Aber so sind Japaner. ;)

This is my favourite japanese restaurant in berlin. disclaimer; I’m not a huge fan of sushi. so I always go for the other stuff — miso marinated pork, herring in broth, mackeral etc etc. reasonable prices. I’ve eaten in japan too and this is right up there

I LOVE Japanese food. Finding decent Japanese food in Berlin, generally, is not that easy. There are a couple places that are great for sushi, but finding one that serves other great dishes is a challenge.
Sasaya serves all sorts of Japanese dishes and is run by Japanese. They have fantastic daily lunch options that are pretty darn cheap (you can get an entire fish for € 9) and delicious. The service is quick and friendly, the food yummy, and the prices great. With this combo, Sasaya has become one of my favorite restaurants in Berlin.
If you like Japanese food, give Sasaya a try! You need to reserve beforehand though!

Wir kamen um 12.30. 4 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder (keine Kleinkinder). Wurden sofort wieder abgewiesen da ausgebucht. Freundliche Frau bot uns ihren Tisch an, da sie gleich gehen würde. Wir freuten uns. Bedienung sagte es würde sehr lange dauern. Chef sprang dazwischen und sagte «Nein!». Da wurden wir wieder rausgeschickt.
Offensichtlich hat der Chef etwas gegen Kinder oder ähnliches. Als Foodie bin ich allerdings schon in jeder Art von Restaurant mit Kindern akzeptiert wurden.

Sasaya war bis vor kurzem noch mein Lieblingsladen für Sushi, den ich auch Freunden und Kollegen weiterempfohlen habe.
Am Essen habe ich nach wie vor nichts auszusetzen. Dort kriegt man meiner Meinung nach das beste Sushi in Berlin.
Allerdings ist der Service wirklich nicht zu ertragen.
Wenn man nicht gerade Japaner ist, wird man als Gast 2. Klasse behandelt.
Schon als wir um 14:15 den Laden betreten haben, um uns ein Mittagessen zu gönnen, wurden wir schon fast herausgescheucht. (Laut Homepage letzte Bestellung um 14:30).
Letzten Endes haben wir nach einer kleinen Diskussion dann doch Platz einnehmen dürfen. Noch beim Hinsetzen kam die Kellnerin und hat uns aufgefordert sofort alles zu bestellen, was wir haben möchten. Später seien dann keine Nachbestellungen möglich. Auch im weiteren Verlauf gab es leider keine positiv anzumerkenden Punkte in Sachen Service. Das Essen meiner Freundin kam erst an, nachdem wir alle schon fertig waren (Nudelsuppe, Ika)
Obwohl der Laden erst um 15:00 in die Mittagspause geht, hat man und des öfteren das Gefühl vermittelt, dass wir schnell aufessen sollen, um den Laden zu verlassen.
Bei Japanern sieht man eindeutig, dass sie mit mehr Respekt und Kulanz behandelt werden. Ein NO GO meiner Meinung nach.

Schon beim Ankommen wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, dass Kinder hier nicht erwünscht sind. Nachdem unser einjähriger einmal ein Geräusch von sich gegeben hat wurden wir freundlich des Lokals verwiesen. Geht gar nicht! Wir würden es ja verstehen, wenn das Kind andauernd laut schreit, das war es aber definitiv nicht! Für uns ein Laden, indem man nicht gehen sollte!

Ein sehr authentisch — traditionelles Restaurant. Das kommt wohl daher, dass der Chef aus Düsseldorf (Japanermetropole) kommt.
In Japan braucht ein Sushikoch 10 Jahre um sich selbstständig zu machen und wenn man Kugelfische zubereiten will noch weitere 6 Jahre.
Es ist eine Kunst, die man nicht in 3 Jahre Ausbildung erlernen kann!
Dementsprechen schmeckt es auch. Einfach super. Es ist öfters mal vorgekommen, dass bestimmte Sachen nicht mehr da waren, aber viel lieber nur frische und gute Sachen zu servieren als immer alles in schlechter Qualität zu haben.
Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis stimmt auch. Für so eine gute Qualität gebe ich auch gerne mal 30 – 35 Euro aus!
Aber eine Sache habe ich zu bemängeln. Der Service ist sehr schlecht. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass Japaner besser behandelt werden als europäische Gäste und das kann nicht sein. Wir alle bezahlen den gleichen Preis und da kann die Speise noch so gut sein, aber wenn der Service schlecht ist, kann ich das Restaurant nicht gut bewerten. Es ist ja nicht so, dass die Kellner nicht anders können, sie sind bewusst so arrogant und unfreundlich.
Meine Freunde, denen ich dieses Restaurant vorgestellt hatte, streiken den Laden schon. Ja das Restaurant ist erfolgreich und immer voll, aber trotzdem kann man Gäste nicht so behandeln!
Sehr sehr schade, weil ich von dem Geschmack überzeugt bin und ihn auch weiterempfohlen habe.

Been here on multiple occasions. It’s a popular place so unless you’re one person and don’t mind sitting at «the bar,» it’s not a place to just drop by.
Food is amazing! I’m the daughter of a sushi chef, so I’m pretty picky when it comes to fish. I’ve tried both sushi here and their cooked fish dishes, and all are good. Also, try the Coconut Crème brûlée for dessert. It’s not really Japanese, it’s just stinkin’ good.
Service is good as well.
Overall, recommended.

I am not the biggest of sushi. So I don’t eat that here. But they offer so many amazing and tasty dishes. My favourites are the Buta Miso pork belly marinated in miso, fried mackeral and the grilled herring in broth (which I think is called nishin soba). You will see lots of japanese people eating here, always a good sign. In fact I was introduced to this place by two friends from japan who were visiting. The prices are actually not that bad considering the neighbourhood. Make a booking as this place is always full. might be easier to eat there at lunchtime.

Fantastic Real Japanese Food (totally different from the 100’s of Vietnam /​china /​sushi places)!
Seeing the sushi chef work is a sight for sore eyes :)

Service ist gut, Das Essen wird frisch angerichtet und schmeckt sehr gut.

Este restaurante japonés es el mejor de la ciudad. No es el más barato pero tan original que vale la pena ir. Autentico por completo, hasta que la mayoría de los visitantes/​huéspedes son japoneses. El idioma gerente es japonés pero por supuesto hablan alemán e inglés también. La comida no está solamente muuuuuuy rica, sinó es de altísima calidad. Y el maestro del sushi celebra su arte. De vez en cuando te construye obras de arte en tu plato. Para los amantes de comida caliente hay bastantes opciones. Y tienen sake muy recomendable. Hay que reservar mesas o ir tempranito para lograr sentarse en el bar. En este último se puede observar el trabajo del maestro de cerca.

J’habite à coté mais n’y suis pas allé si souvent. Très sympathique restaurant et plutôt bon.
Un peu surpris que leur carte soit en majorité des sushis, sachant que :
— les sushis sont partout à Berlin, et je me dit que pour un des seuls vrais restos japonais tenu par des japonais ils pourraient ouvrir un peu vers d’autres aspects de la gastronomie nipponne.
— La mer est loin ;) une raison de plus pour diversifier un peu la carte quand probablement Berlin n’est pas idéalement localisé pour avoir du bon poisson.
Mais je chipote. C’est très bien quand même.
On sent juste que la clientèle n’est probablement pas très exigeante. (problème récurant à Berlin, les autoctones ainsi que les easyjet-​setteurs veulent du chic et vegan ou bio et pas cher plutôt que du bon).

I LOVE Sasaya! The sushi is fantastic and the non-​sushi dishes, like butter fish, are to die for! My favorite thing to order is chirashi which one of my friends calls a box of treasures, an opinion I concur with wholeheartedly. The appetizers are also phenomenal, oysters (can’t remember the Japanese name), spinach with sesame, oh so many good things it is making me hungry just writing this! The number if Japanese people who eat here will tell you right away, it’s authentic and delicious. The only difficulty can be trying to get a spot, as so many people share this opinion that it can be next to impossible to eat without a reservation (lunch is usually doable without a reservation). PS: I just had a look through my food pics and am shocked to find none of Sasaya (probably I’ve always been too excited about eating) I will remedy this next time I am there.

My favourite japanese restaurnat in Berlin remains «Makoto»!
But this isn’t bad at all.

Mangez sur des tatamis comme dans nos mangas préférés, qui n’en a jamais rêvé? Sasaya exaucera vos vœux pour cette nouvelle année! Ce resto japonais vous propose des tatamis, attention réservation obligatoire pour ce privilège sinon vous vous retrouverez au bar (comme moi, sniff).
Ce fut mon premier vrai restaurant japonais (à part Planet Sushi) et je peux vous dire qu’aucune comparaison n’est à faire! Après avoir assisté à la préparation des sushis sous mes yeux, par un expert, les voilà dans mon assiette! Et je peux vous dire que leurs sushis aux crevettes sont vraiment excellents malgré le fait qu’en une bouchée c’est impossible, ils sont trop grands (voir photo)!

redécouvrir la gastronomie japonaise, la vraie et pas seulement les sushis et makis que tout le monde connaît, mais à des milliers de kilomètres, c’est possible grâce à la fine équipe du sasaya !
on y retrouve les Udon, les Ramen, les poissons fris, les légumes au sésame, les desserts au thé vert… tout est merveilleusement goûteux et appétissant, presque beau et artistique notamment dans la présentation en arc en ciel des californian makis ! et le tout pour un prix vraiment berlinois !
le restaurant est malheureusement victime de son succès et une reservation est vivement conseillée afin de pouvoir profiter des places traditionnelles sur le sol, même si les autres places sont aussi agréables malgré l’éxiguité du restaurant !

Restaurant japonais tenu par de vrai japonais. On peut y manger au bar comme sur des tatamis (3 tatamis seulement par contre, un peu juste). On y mange des sushis makis et autres spécialités japonaises délicieuses préparer sous vos yeux.
Cependant je reproche un peu le côté maniéré du restaurant. Mais personnel sympathique quand même.
Il faut réserver impérativement. Fermé le mercredi, faites attention. Autres jours, fin du service à 22h.

Hands down one of the best sushi joints in Berlin… or dare I say even in the States. I was supremely surprised at the freshness and deliciousness of the food here. Prices are medium. The money is well spent here. There is a fine Saki selection from various parts of Japan of various grades of quality that you can try. I tried some though I do not drink alcohol and they were good.
Considering the Berlin is infamous for bad Asian food, this place is the exception and a true diamond in a field of mud. I HIGHLY recommend it. They don’t have every single Japanese dish you can imagine but the stuff they do have is of the highest order of quality and taste. Even for Japanese people who are very critical of sushi restaurants in foreign lands. Yes, there, I said it.
UPDATE: Just ate there the night before I left Berlin for Austin, TX… it is still as good as I remember it. July 29,2010.
UPDATE: Ate there again in April of 2013… uh, stay away from the raw shrimp… if you don’t want to be paralyzed with stomach cramps later.

I’ve eaten here twice, and I have to say, the food is terrific.
But I’m amazed that people here only give Sasaya 5 stars! The service leaves a lot to wish for… I’ve rarely been made to feel so unwelcome in a restaurant, but perhaps that’s the price of success for any place…
Great food? No question. But the service leves a bitter taste no matter how fresh the fish is…
…Kuchi, although more expensive for what you get, has (nearly) as good food, and the service is so much better…

Je n’aime plus dire le meilleur truc parce qu’à chaque fois je me laisse contredire quelques semaines plus tard. Mais je me risqué pour celui-​ci: le meilleur sushi de Berlin!
Le service est efficace, l’équipe est japonaise, les clients aussi parfois. Les sushis sont plus que frais, et ils sont les plus beaux qu’il m’ait été donné de voir. Yummy. Très grande carte (pas seulement des sushis!) à des prix très berlinois. En plus on pouvait lire le Vogue japonais.
J’ai choppé des fourmis à trop m’assoir en tailleur par contre.
Attention j’ai dit meilleur sushi! parce que j’ai aussi testé d’autres trucs, bah ils étaient pas forcément à la hauteur des sushis et des makis.
