Elite Event: Exklusives Rum Tasting In The Caribbean Embassy.

I agree 100% with the other reivews. Yet another great effort from Vee! The food we got to sample was delicious, but that rum presenation… ohhhh my.
I get to work around 7:30am most days, go to the gym after that, and then on Monday I went directly to this Elite event. Needless to say, the presenter had my full attention for about the first 20 minutes. After that I was dying for something to eat, maybe a little sip of some rum to drink, and a pillow to fall asleep. I think most Elite events are so great because we are allowed to socialize and mingle with the other Unilocalers. The length of this presentation took away from that time, especially for me since I had to leave early :(
Overall, I would go back to The Caribbean Embassy to try one of their meals because it seems quite appealing, but I would urge the owner to shorten the presentation by (at least) 20 minutes and maybe include a rum tasting as part of the presentation.

Echoing the sentiments of many others, this was a great event that could have been even better.
While fascinating to learn a bit about the history, production and cultural significance of rum prior to tasting it, the (extensive) presentation was completely in German so I’m sure I missed some things — and unfortunately the presentation required our silence & rapt attention, so I didn’t get to chat with my tablemates as much as I’d hoped.
It would have also been cool to learn a bit more about the differences in flavors between the rums as we sampled them. Finally, while impressive (and extraordinarily generous) to offer 12 varieties to taste, I think a smaller selection would have allowed us to better focus on the subtle differences between the rums.
After the tasting we enjoyed a truly delicious assortment of Caribbean treats — and I’ll be back with my husband to try more! Sweet, spicy and flavorful, the food was really a highlight.

This could have been a great event, because there were so many different kinds of rum to try and some great food. However, it took an hour to get to any of this, and unfortunately, on a Monday night, I had to head out before I could get to everything.
The presentation was certainly appreciated, but might have gone better had we gotten some rum to try during it, and more of an explanation about the rum we were actually trying later. Instead, I ended up with 6 shots of rum in 20 minutes. Ahhh!
All-​in-​all, good event, but could have been better. I will definitely be trying out The Caribbean Embassy because it looks like a great restaurant!

First elite event for me and a very good one! I really enjoyed all explanations given by our host about rhum and the way it’s produced. I discovered some brand that I didn’t know during the testing. The food was also very tasty. And the staff was really helpful and nice! In one word: awesome!
