I’m not sure about these negative reviews, but everyone has their opinion and tastes. I’ve eaten here several to, we and have never been disappointed. We enjoyed our meal. The curry was rich and flavorful, the chicken satay was hot and juicy and the spring rolls were delicious. Our servers were fast and attentive. Oh, the Tom yum was also very good. I would’ve liked more shrimp but it wasn’t less than I would expect from a restaurant.

Nice friendly restaurant, ok food… worth a visit if you’re really in the mood for Thai. Decided to stop here on a Saturday afternoon to get something to eat. We were quickly seated and our drink orders were taken. The service was friendly and very attentive. I decided to get the Thai fried rice with beef, after about a 10 min wait it came out. It was ok, pretty standard quality. A step above Panda Express, but certainly not top notch. Would I come back? Only if I was really in the mood for Thai.

Had an ok experience. Food was too expensive for the portion that they give. We had chicken Pad Thai, Paneng Curry, & Lemon grass chicken. The pad Thai and paneng Tasted great. But I wouldn’t order lemon grass again. Would I come back to eat here again? I don’t know.

Had the shrimp basil spicy was good almost like I was back in Thailand again and a few beers decent priced. Place just opened back up at 5pm so I was the only person there. I will go back and try some different dishes again.

Went here for dinner with 2 friends. Service was awful. He had no idea what he was doing, said the iced tea was free refills, then came back and said there was no free refills after we’d each had 2 iced teas. Great. Then came back and said there was free refills. Waiter left menus on table after we ordered and had an attitude the whole time. Food was below average. Rice tasted old. Air con was not working and it was warm inside. The fact that no one else was there on a Friday night should have been a hint that it was not a good idea to eat here. Avoid.

Eat here! First time here tonight since we been on island for 2 years and we’ll be back to try other stuff, definitely. My panang curry(level 4 spicy) was the right choice. My wife had the papaya salad(level 3), she liked it but now says she should’ve got it more spicy. My daughter had the pad thai(no spice). She says it was okay but liked Ban Thai’s better. But when I tried it, Mariana’s Trench won this one for sure. The calamari appetizer was thickly breaded but delicious nonetheless. The waitress’ were on point with our drinks and refilled us like it was the thing to do. I love service like this. They put the icing on the cake! So, this place may be the number one Thai restaurant but I won’t be sure until we come back again.

This is me and my husbands go-to restaurant. We have only had a few dishes because we love them so much. The beef salad is full of favors and is fantastic! My husband usually gets the Pad Woon Sen. It is also amazing, I’m always stealing bites. Super spicy and full of vegetables! Also the Larb is a great dish as well. It absorbs the spices nicely. We are beyond addicted and are regulars here. I’ve heard the Pad Thai isn’t that great, but we don’t consider that a good dish anyways and don’t order it, so I couldn’t say. This is the best Thai we’ve had on island and we’ve tried a few! The staff is also super friendly. :)

Judging from the map on this Unilocal page, I’m not sure if this is the same restaurant my husband and I ate at but I have to say that I will probably never eat here again. The reviews were mostly positive so we decided to give it a try since we’ve been craving thai food for awhile. I hate having bad experiences and writing bad reviews but if I get food poisoned or find some foreign object in my meal I feel it’s pretty important to share that. Anyway, we decided to just go with usual thai favorites — chicken satay, pad ki mow(aka drunken noodles in other restaurants), and green curry with chicken. Also this restaurant has a 10 point scale for the heat level. I’m guessing 10 would be very hot by Thai standards so we went with a 4 which was just at if not beyond our spice threshold. Usually if the food is spicy enough any less than great flavors are masked and made irrelevant. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case here. The chicken satay was OK. The chicken itself was absolutely unseasoned and flavorless but the peanut sauce was decent. The green curry was the biggest disappointment. I don’t know if it’s because we got it to go or what the issue was but the curry sauce was VERY thin and the whole thing smelled and eventually started to taste like really spicy lemon kitchen cleaner… very reminiscent of the multi-surface windex spray I clean my kitchen and bathroom with. The noodles, however, were pretty good. Had my husband not found what we’re hoping is just gravel and not what I thought it looked like — dog nail clippings — it would’ve been the only item I’d recommend. On the upside, the restaurant looked very clean and well decorated. Had the food not been a massive disappointment I would have loved to make it a regular stop since the staff is very friendly and the ambiance is really wonderful. The food is also very nicely priced. For 2 beers(we had a drink while we waited for our food), the satay, curry, & noodles, we were out the door for well under $ 40.

yumyum :) good prices great authentic thai food ! and they have a big bar/dancefloor/nightlife lounge next door with salsa dancing once a week! includes billiards, darts, and dj through the week… Their chicken pad thai, level 1(yes they rank the hotness) is my fave. anything over level 2 for me, makes me cry =P

Went there for a very late, light lunch the other day and ordered the satay and papaya salad. Food was good. Satay didn’t look great, but was well-spiced and juicy. Papaya salad had great flavor and was refreshing, just a little more watery than it should be. Service left a little bit to be desired as I was largely ignored, but the ladies were busy preparing for dinner service, so that didn’t bother me much. I’d definitely go there again and try some of the other dishes.

My mom got the chicken and broccoli with some kind of brown sauce. It was okay but kind of tasted like freezer burn. The real test of authenticity for me was their Pad See Ew which they failed horribly. First of all pad see Ew is one of the easiest dishes to make since it’s basically thick, flat noodles sautéed with soy sauce, broccoli and eggs, that’s about it. The real trick to getting the best flavor is using a well seasoned pan to add to the flavor. I really thought they could get it right considering it’s a really easy dish to make but they failed in ways I didn’t even fail my first attempt at making it. Where I mashed the noodles to a brown blob, the cook managed to not even cook the noodles half way to an edible consistency. It’s as if he threw the noodles in just enough to get them to get warm. That would have been forgivable with a generous helping of the special thick sweet soy sauce commonly used for the dish. Even then the chef slapped on a meager spoonful onto the noodles to where they were a slight tinge of brown.

I made two runs on Mariana’s Trench and here’s what I have to report. First of all, there are actually two of these restaurants of the same name, within a mile of each other, and they are owned by the same people. This was very confusing when I was preparing to write this review. As a matter of fact, some of my pics are of the one closer to GPO. So, actually, I guess I can say I’ve tried them three times? Anyway. Skip the appetizers. I tried 3 different ones and was barely impressed by any of them. Thankfully the main course more than compensated for the lackluster apps. The first time I had a red curry with seafood at a 6 heat index. The squid was a bit overcooked but then, so was my mouth after eating a 6! I can’t even comprehend how insane a dish at 10 would be! My second trip I had the Pad Mee with tofu at a 4. Delicious! My third trip was a soy noodle with steak. The steak was a bit chewy but Thai food isn’t known for it’s beef. Other than the steak being chewy that dish was soooooo good. I’ll post some pics. I still have many many more restaurants to try but so far, this has been one of the best. Khaw Hai Jarern Aharn!

For a cheap place, it has the best value for Thai food on island! Great stuff! A fun place to hang out at night(full bar w/food), as well as a restaurant for lunch and dinner. Great wait staff, super food, and easy on the wallet. By far, one of my favorite places on Guam.

This place is good. The Thai food is really authentic. We had the Larb salad with beef which was so delicous, some fried noodles pad see ew i think is the name which was awesome and the seafood curry which was tasty but not as good as the other two dishes. the servers were nice, but one didn’t know a thing about what was in the food. We ate in the bar side which is ok. Loud and bar like. I perfer the smoke free zone of the restaurant side. Really good food either way you eat.

This is some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The spice level ranges from 1 through 10. Back in the States, I can only handle like a 3 out of 5. At Trench, a 4 is like an 8, so be prepared! This place has a good following of customers. The staff is very friendly, the pirces are good, and you always leave full… What more can you ask for?
