Gorgeous views, starters are asian cuisine, sushi and the like, all delicious. Do not skip the steak as a main. To die for.

This place is the spot, particularly on the weekends. I came on 2 separate nights and they were very different. Wednesday was very sparse and chill w/a GHD event whereby they styled ladies’ hair. We saw Né-yo here that night. Friday is jam packed crazy as is the entire street.

Chic rooftop lounge with a chill vibe. Good views of the skyline while you sip on some cocktails. Happy hour on drinks for the ones on the first two pages of the menu. Two drinks for the price of one until 7pm. Random hot tub in the middle of the rooftop but pretty good dj playing music to jam to. Service was attentive and courteous. FYI: 10% gratuity added to bill.

We didn’t know anything about this place before randomly walking by the ground entrance. We wanted to take a look at the view, so up we went. The place consists of two floors: A restaurant on the«first» floor with a rooftop bar up the staircase. The rooftop view was a bit obstructed by plants, so it’s not really worth a visit if you’re only there for the view and not in the mood for a drink or two as well. We ended up sitting down and ordering drinks, so we still enjoyed the visit. The view is still a nice touch, but not the main selling point of the place. The staff was nice and friendly, and the drinks were good, though in the upper price range. Probably to be expected from this area of Hong Kong. We didn’t get to visit the restaurant, but I quite enjoyed the bathroom! It was kinda dark, and after a few drinks the pattern on the walls made it a bit of a challenge to find the doors.

Awesome rooftop patio in what’s the heart of Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong. When we were looking for a place to grab a drink in the afternoon, we had a few options on the ground level, but I spotted a sign next to an elevator that called for higher ground. How right we were to stumble upon this place. It has everything you need from a rooftop bar: from the cocktails to stunning view of the HK skyline, you can sit here and soak in the views, while seeing what the beautiful people next to you are up to. Drinks are typical HK upscale pricing(100HKD and up), but it is what it is if you’re looking to drink at a place like this. To smooth things over, they did have a Happy Hour special where you can get two drinks for the price of one if you order one of their cocktails from the first page. I got a passion fruit flavoured cocktail, and also an old fashioned made with chili, and both were pleasantly creative while not being too fancy.

California Tower opened 6 months ago and houses the coolest, trendiest restaurants, bars and clubs in town. Ce La Vi is a restaurant, bar and club occupying the highest 3 floors of California Tower and it sets the standard for today’s ultra modern dining and drinking venues. I visited the restaurant and it had sleek black marble furnishings, which was matched by dim lighting and chill house beats pumping at a low volume all night long. The highlight was the black marble lamp above half the restaurant, with plants all around it. Food is Japanese fusion tapas style, ranging from around $ 250 to $ 400 per dish. For a table of 2, perhaps 6 dishes will leave you satisfied but not overly full. Food was okay, but you come here for the décor. I had a Japanese sake cocktail which was amazing! Just the right balance of sweet and bitter and it tasted fresh. Cocktails are around the $ 120 to $ 150 range. As for décor and ambience, Ce La Vi blew my mind and I am yet to find a restaurant in Hong Kong that has the same vibe.

Let me begin by saying that first, we were only there for drinks. Second, we were there early, like 6pm on a Saturday. This place is a restaurant, rooftop cocktail lounge and a nightclub. In summary though, this place has a Las Vegas club feel(regardless if you are there for dinner, drinks or the club itself) and designed for a young, trendy customer in their 20 – 30’s with money to burn. It is located in California Tower, up on the 25th floor. When you get off the elevator, that floor is the lounge/DJ/nightclub/main bar, you scoot up one dimly lit, wooden spirally staircase(beware if you are in stilletos!) to go to the outdoor rooftop bar or you scoot down another equally dimly lit, wooden spirally staircase(again, hopefully not in stilletos!) to the restaurant. The hostesses will direct you to what you are looking for and they were super sweet, cute, dressed to the nine(all that you would expect from a hostess at a hot club anywhere on the planet). This place has all the feel of a Las Vegas style, big city, trendy, nightclub. At 6PM though and void of many people, we enjoyed the roof top bar(probably because it was 6PM and void of people). The martini was simply OK(too much vermouth & not a great martini), but both our drinks were served in good solid barware and came with a tiny bowl of chips to snack on. Staff was OK and friendly, but they have the feel of waiting for the 20 – 30 year old big spenders who spill in after dark and late night. And the«rooftop» in «rooftop bar» was nice because of the breeze on the top of the building, open aired vibe and has a nice view of the urban landscape built into the hills of Hong Kong. They have plants built into the design of this place though and they are rimmed around the outside of the bar, so the view(s) are by no means unobstructed, nor is it the«best view of the city.» It was nice to be outside. There is a full functioning hot tub right in the middle of the layout, which paints a picture of the adult shinanigans with hired models or overserved clientele during an evening with nice weather. This place is more loungy, with deep couches and big pillows to nestle into. Drinks set us back about $ 250HKD for one poorly made martini and one rum and coke, so this place is pricey. I am sure dinner is equally as pricey. I work out at Pure Fitness in California Tower and was always curious to see this place. I am glad we went and it is not that I would ever go again, but I myself would try something else in the arsenal of options in California Tower. But again, if you ar 25 with money to burn and this is your scene, this might absolutley be your place.
