Door Door Bakery

Very local for the Lai Chi Kok area, this was a great bakery discovery that we sought out based on the prior Unilocal reviewer because we were in the area.
A typical bakery in many ways, but maybe a touch larger and more variety. From the lady selling egg tarts out front, to the extensive array of the normal breads and buns you see in most bakeries, to their big cookie wall… we felt like this was a great bakery. Fresh quality, friendly staff and busy with patrons… all good signs of a good bakery.
Let me highlight the cookie wall. If you have ever waiting in line at Jenny Bakery for their delicious cookies, this is exactly what these are… but without the wait and the attitude from the staff! The cookies are delicious. From coffee to green tea to chocolates in flavor, they are sold as mix-​n-​match by the half pound or the pound. Think of it like a lense dense, more flavorful shortbreak cookie.
Great bakery… I wish it was closer to my home in Sheung Wan.

This is a bakery shop that has been in Mei Foo residential area for more than 3 decades. They sell everything that spells out from a bakery like bread, cakes, biscuits, cookies, buns, egg tarts and even nougats and cold ice milk tea yummy yummy. Its been always my first stop to shop for a breakfast take away before getting into the MTR for work. Pretty much everything is freshly made, every morning and day, Its always packed with lots of people so by afternoon everything is gone.
The store shop got recently a make over but it still kept some nostalgia. Its always really nice to eat something that actually been baked from the shop and not been produced in a factory and then spread out over the city like e.g. Maxims bakery. The aunties working in the shop have been around here for a while and gives great and fast service. There was one time I was in really hurry and at the cashier I realized I forgot my wallet at home. She noticed that immediately and just told me its okay lah just come back next day with the money. I really appreciate this kind of local style attitude and service that people in the neighborhood still trust each other which you hardly can’t see nowadays.
