Enchanted Garden Restaurant

I give this restaurant a ZERO.
We asked a hotel worker what restaurant he recommended so we chose this place. Overpriced, not a lot of decent vegetarian options. It’s Disney so I can mostly live with the overpriced part but this restaurant experience was the wost part of my ENTIRE Hong Kong vacation.
We were maybe the second family to enter the restaurant. The characters did not come out until about an hour after we got there. Once they finally came out I was getting closer & closer to my bus pick up time as I was leaving for the airport to go home & end my vacation. I tried very hard to be patient as they have a policy that the characters come to you. I waited about 45 minutes but I could not wait any longer as I had a bus to catch.
I just wanted quick pictures with the characters nothing more before I left. I waved & waved & got ignored. No one else was as eager as I was to meet the characters but they just kept ignoring me anyway. It seemed like most people could really care less about the characters. Minnie Mouse was at the same table hugging the same adult woman for a good 20 minutes. At this point it was getting a bit ridiculous.
I asked one of the Disney cast members if they could help me out. I asked very nicely. I explained this was my birthday vacation & I hadn’t been able to get any pictures with the characters & on top of that I had to leave NOW to catch my bus to the airport. No one there was in a hurry so could they just please accommodate me real fast & get me a picture? I wouldn’t take long just a quick snapshot! Having experienced Disney in Japan & in America I had believed that they were all about accommodating & beautiful customer service so you can imagine my shock when I got the worst treatment I have ever experienced in ANY restaurant I have ever been too.
The cast member looked at me as if I was crazy for even asking. I thought he would go & round up a couple of the characters real quick & get me some pix. I got a huge sigh as if I was the biggest pain in the butt in the world & it was kind of like FINE I will get you a picture. I got a picture with Mickey but I didn’t feel very happy at the end of it… what happened next was worst of all…
I tried to ask Minnie for a picture who had just finished with the girl she had just spend 20 minutes and guess what Minnie did. She hadn’t reached a table yet so it would have taken just a second to take a picture with me… I tapped her on the shoulder, «Hey Minnie…»
I am not even kidding. She SHOVED me away. I have never been shoved by a Disney character before or any costumed person. I am scarred for life. It’s funny to talk about now with my friends now… «like hey guess what for one of my birthdays I got shoved by Minnie Mouse in Hong Kong.» It’s a really hilarious story to tell now but when it actually happened I couldn’t have been more hurt & humiliated. In fact although the story is funny, when I think about it even now I can’t help but hate Hong Kong Minnie Mouse for making me question my love for all things Disney. It sounds so silly but when you grow up loving Disney & then get shoved by one of your beloved characters… JUST BIZARRE MORE THEN ANYTHING. I can never look at her the same way.
When I checked out of the hotel I was asked how my dining experience was. I told the counter guy that it was the worst experience I have ever had. The worker did not care. He just gave me a dirty look. He didn’t even bother to ask why I was so upset. Needless to say my bus to the airport could not have come sooner. Hong Kong Disneyland is an abomination. NEVER AGAIN.
