Fairwood

In all honesty we were horrified when my dad suggested going to Fairwood for lunch. My hubby totally took this a sign that the man with discerning taste and who ate his way through the animal encyclopedia, whose foodie DNA I inherited, has gone senile. I mean, even when I was in high school I had turned my snobby nose from this fast food chain.
Walking in, it appears that my dad is a regular here (being the closest restaurant to my parent’s house). He was greeted warmly by the cashier, who explained, oh, your daughter is treating you today! (while probably thinking what kind of unfilial daughter I was…) After paying, we found a table and went to pick up the food. Dad told us that usually the staff brings his food to his table.
Well, maybe I had too much mediocre Chinese food in the U.S., but we found the food not that bad. Dad’s favorite beef curry is flavorful with tender chunks of meat and tendons. My husband ordered a ham and egg breakfast, and with $ 5 more (like about US$ 0.70) we got a bowl of noodles.
Okay, 4 stars is definitely generous, but hey, thanks for taking good care of my dad.
