The hotel is reasonably priced, has great facilities, and is located in a very nice part of town, with public transport right outside the door. The one glaring FAILURE is the WiFi /internet — the hotel provides free internet access, throughout the hotel, and within the rooms(including wired LAN connection in the rooms) — but the quality of service itself makes it UTTERLYUSELESS. The connection breaks several times a minute, and consistently stops loading pages, or just plain loses the connection. This effectively renders the service useless. I feel that this could easily be fixed, if the hotel took this aspect of the service seriously — an upgrade to their services, as well as a better router would provide 1st class service. As it stands right now, while I have had a great stay at this hotel, and I really feel that this is a great hotel(particularly for the price), I will most likely be looking at alternatives for my next trip. I wish I didn’t have to.

I would say 3.5÷4 for the room itself and 5 for the service, cleanliness, and location. The hotel is looking a bit dated. However, the quality of things like woodwork, tiles, hardware, furniture, has lasted — clearly they made a good long term investment by building with these more expensive items. Could use new carpets, new tub, updated linens. Having bath robes would be nice. My husband stayed here a few years ago when an incredible dim sum breakfast was included but apparently this isn’t really done much in HK any more. The room + hotel overall were spotless. Very clean and we saw them cleaning the lobby regularly. The service was A++. Super friendly all around. They held our luggage for a few days and we didn’t worry about it for a second. Good spoken english + easy to get translations from the staff. Even though it’s right next to the motorway it’s super quiet — again they must have made a good investment in sound proof windows and it’s paid off. We slept incredibly well here. Free WiFi for guests in all areas of the hotel. We only had a beer in their café and it was too expensive, especially given the casual atmosphere and view onto the motorway. As much as what it cost in Ozone at the Ritz! Generally the prices were steep here — about 30USD for breakfast. Not sure why this is. I think if they found a way to make it more affordable they’d do a lot more business in the café. Having said that — this hotel is in an AMAZING location. Plenty of options right outside the door if you’re up for local cuisine. The area is Sai Ying Pun and one of the oldest in HK. Old school mom and pop places. Lots of casual and hole-in-the-wall spots which are very busy and the food is fresh, delicious, super affordable. Fish places, a phenomenal butcher across the street, noodle shops, a man up the road who sells great porcelain and ceramics, a few Chinese bakeries, laundry, tons of herb shops. The area is bursting with character. One of the most colorful we explored. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the express airport train, new subway station, and they offer a shuttle to the ferry. Hopefully this neighborhood won’t get gentrified as a result of the new subway station. It’s perfect as it is. There are modern major chain hotels close by but the Island Pacific has so much more going on than a generic chain.

Location was great. Near night life and an awesome dim sum spot. The hotel itself is very nice and elegant. Room was a bit small but cozy and good for the price. It was clean and staff was very nice. Would def stay again if I ever go back to hongkong
