Great place to grab sushi after a long day of shopping at New Town Plaza This is a sushi spot that I frequented at least twice a week because you really get value for your money here. The sushi is very reasonably priced and they import many of their key ingredients directly from Japan via air. They actually show where their seafood is sourced on the paper placemats, which is pretty neat if you ask me. Anyway, upon entering you’ll be seated and they bring you a cup of hot tea that’s free and refillable. Then you can browse their menu(pictures included) on the iPad at your table and place an order– it’s pretty straightforward and easy to figure out. I find that the wait time for food is usually quite short so if your wait is over 20 minutes, double check with them to see if your order went through. Note: when it’s packed with customers it does take a bit of effort to get the attention of a server. Ambiance is also very casual and the noise level is a little loud sometimes but for the price/quality it’s not a huge issue for me. Their sushi is great for a quick meal! My favorites are the roasted salmon roll, lobster mango roll and the sweet shrimp nigiri roll :-) Overall, if you’re looking for affordable, tasty sushi I highly recommend Itacho!

There is so much to eat at Citylink — dimsum, Vietnamese, Taiwanese… the list goes on. If you’re craving sushi, Itacho is the way to go. The Itacho here is an open restaurant with banister rails that separate the tables and chairs from the mall itself. This makes it especially easy for people who are just passing by to peer in and be tempted by the sushi that customers are eating — I’ve definitely fallen for that trick! The restaurant is quite big and when lunch or dinner times roll around and you have to get a ticket, you normally do not need to wait that long for a seat. A friend and I were here the other day at around and we ordered a few things to share, like the roasted salmon sushi and California roll. They were standard — nothing too spectacular but not terrible either. Out of curiosity, we also tried the lobster mango salad roll, which was surprisingly good! I mean, the lobster was obviously imitation lobster, but the mango was really nice and sweet and the salad dressing went well with the rice. I also ordered myself a salmon hand roll which was good too. Honestly, I’m really bad at telling if sushi or sashimi is fresh or not so I can’t give a solid opinion on this, but everything tasted pretty good. There is a large variety on the menu and besides for sushi and sashimi, there are also mini dons, grilled items and salads. It’s pricier than Genki, but I think the stuff here is generally of higher quality too. Definitely worth a try if you are in Citylink or New Town Plaza and are craving sushi!
