This isn’t some fancy spa joint. So if thats what you’re looking for, this isn’t the place for you. There’s small talk, multiple people in the room, and I’m sure they don’t clean the chair after each person that has sat there. =P But I still do enjoy this kind of massage place. No appointments necessary unless you want a specific masseuse. I don’t know if they have any private rooms, so ask. 170 $ for a foot massage. 220 $ for a foot massage and a back massage. There’s free wifi.

I’m a big fan of foot massages, but have of late been a bit disappointed with the offerings on Caine Road. That was until I discovered Joy Ocean Town. Entering the premises, which do look a bit dodgy from the outside as there are no windows, the greeting from the hostess is welcoming. There are a lot of «masters» on site, so you shouldn’t have to wait too long to be seen to, unlike many of the smaller joints on Caine Road that share their staff with another branch — you know who you are! The interior is a bit grubby, I unfortunately had a seat out the back, which had been used as the staff dining room(they even left me a half eaten bowl of noodles). It’s not so nice to put your phone on an armrest covered in soup. The chairs have seen better days, the décor in general is a bit storeroom, rather than zen, and the whole main room is a bit crowded. However, if you take your headphones and a good read, you should be able to zone out the other punters. On a good point, the towels that they use as blankets are great; fluffy, new, thick, but could do with being washed a bit more. The massage itself was great. Yes, I get that it depends on the«master» you get, but my one was spot on. Just the right amount of pressure on both the back and feet. He also had a bit of banter, but knew when to shut up and leave me to my music. The packages are similar to most places; 15min back plus 45min feet cost HKD200, 15min back plus 60min feet cost HKD220. There are also other services like whole body, pedicure, ear candling. It’s difficult to distinguish one place from another. Yes, it is a bit grottier here, but the lack of waiting and the decent massage made up for noodle soup stains on the trousers.
