Kai Tak Runway Park

The former airport runway was nicely rebuilt and revived. Lots of people go there on weekends if u fancy a picnic and some fresh air in town without travelling long hour going to the rural areas. Great place for runners, bikers and cyclists for some trainings at night.

This place is really beautiful! Hong Kong really did an outstanding job on renovating the old Kai Tak Airport which is also the old Hong Kong International Airport that closed down in 1998. They haven’t reconstruct the entire place, but they did something with a part of it.
This place is visited by a lot of people, and most enjoy having a picnic, or taking professional photos, or even just relaxing by the ocean or on the grass. There are also runners who go here because of how big this place is. It’s a nice change of scenery, especially when you finally see a field of grass in Hong Kong on the Kowloon side.
Besides the park, there is the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. It’s a massive building with shops and restaurants inside. It’s not hard to miss this enormous structure. When you do go outside of the building on the upper floors, it’s like a giant garden. A long, long, giant garden that you can stroll through or sit and take in the atmosphere. Even the inside of the restrooms are spacious and nice.
