This place was filled with locals when we came for breakfast. They don’t have an English menu. Luckily, I was able to pick out some Chinese words and ordered a handful of dim sum dishes to try. Most of the dishes were $ 16 – 18 hkd. They do have shrimp dumplings for $ 20 hkd and chicken inside sweet rice for $ 22 hkd. We liked the latter. We also tried their bbq buns, lotus buns, spare ribs and pork and bamboo inside tofu skin. It wasn’t anything special. They also charge $ 3hkd fir tea person. The good thing about this place is that they offer better tea than most other places for the same price and the items are cheap. However, you do get a little less per dish. For instance, the spare ribs were lined with taro and there were very few pieces of the ribs.

Local low cost dim sum place at $ 18 – 21 each. Rice dishes are $ 30 – 40. The place is divey, not real clean, & cramped. Lots of single guys eating by themselves. Place was 90% guys, old guys, and a few mostly older woman… So not wonderful… Except the food. The dim sum taste like dimsum should. Not big, not terribly cheap, but it taste right. Come here for the food. Try it if you’re in the neighborhood.

If you’re yearning for the real deal dim sim experience in Hong Kong, ask a local to bring you here. Keep in mind that little(if any) English is spoken in this small restaurant, and that’s why you’re going with aforementioned local. Onward! Now that you’ve arrived, grab a seat at one of the communal tables(don’t be shy; you’ll probably sit very close to your neighbor). Now comes the fun part: allow your friend(the one who’s a local) to order a mess of different dishes to share. We tried the pork bao, shaomai, dumplings, chicken feet, and an item my dining companion described as containing ‘everything’. Everything was quite tasty, though I wasn’t feeling adventurous enough to try the chicken feet… this time, anyway. And bring some bills! Something tells me this tiny restaurant is cash-only.
