Back to my adventures in Hong Kong! My mother’s friends decided to take us here for brunch. I did not know what to expect and decided to tag along with an open mind. I’ve never been to a German beer hall, let alone one that serves buffet brunch so all of it was new to me. The food selection was pretty small. Maybe it’s because buffets here in the USA usually have several counters of main entrees, but King Ludwig only has two and they are pretty small. There is, of course, a salad bar. Or half of one anyway. Meats, soups, pasta and other carbs. By round two, I had already tasted most of the entrees available. Now, what’s pretty good is that they do serve pork knuckle. They serve it to you at your table. It is glorious and delicious. Desserts are also a hit or miss. They have some variation of a green tea cake, which tasted nothing like green tea. Others are not worth mentioning. You’ll want to go to a dessert place to satisfy your sweet tooth. We did get to try the beer here. The one we had was with honey and it was pretty interesting. I’m not a fan of beer, but I did enjoy the few sips that I had. From what I’ve heard from my mother’s friends, the location in Stanley is much better. Hope I get to try it the next time I’m in HK.
