First, the bad: 1. location is terrible, it’ll take over half an hour to get from the hotel to, say, Central via MTR(pro tip: download the official MTR app for travel time estimates). 2. it’s not easy to find from the MTR station unless you have a map. Chong Yip Street is a tiny L-shaped road off of Hung To Road and it takes two left turns after coming out of the official B6 Exit.(pro tip: take the exits to Millennium City instead, and take the overhead pedestrian bridge to get to Millennium City Phase II, then walk straight across the lobby and down the steps. That drops you onto Chong Yip Street. The hotel is along the street on your right, but be careful not to get run over by cars driving underneath Millennium City Phase III). 3. The hotel gym is a joke. There’s couple of treadmills if you’re into that, but the free weights is a couple of dumbbells that go up to 10 kg. I’m not kidding. 4. There’s an iPad in the room. I think it’s the model from five years ago, and the screen is cracked. I didn’t want to even touch it, but I had to because they had propped it up against the wall in the way of the light switches. 5. Speaking of light switches, NONEOFTHEMMADEANYSENSE. I was there for a week and I *still* don’t know what switches turn on what. You just randomly hit the switches until you get what you want. Now the good: 1. The view from the top floor is amazing. You can see the old airport runway all the way to Wan Chai and The Peak. 2. Free drinks in the fridge? 3. Everything’s clean and orderly. 4. It’s a bit hard to find where all the neighborhood food is just from walking, since you’re on the industrial/warehouse/car shop side of Kwun Tong Road. Cross over to Ngau Tau Kok Road and head *east* from the MTR to find the closest concentration of shops and restaurants.

No-nonsense hotel that is extremely affordable(largest plus) and very clean. There really is no «social» area to interact with others and the workout area is extremely minimal, but this hotel is within 5 minutes of some convenience stores and other small food shops. Rain showers are the best feature of the rooms to me, English tv channels are limited to some nature shows, a few news outlets and very, very old Comedy Central shows. Free drinks each day in the minibar are a nice touch. My last stay had a few blips but I’ve stayed several times before so I know this last one was an anomaly(and all issues were promptly resolved). If I could recommend one thing it is that the breakfast buffet should rotate some food items every day. Although decent, eating from the same main course foods for two weeks was surprising.
