The Mistral is an Italian restaurant in the B2 level of the InterContinental Grand Stanford on Mody Road. Food: 4⁄5 stars They have a relatively reasonable business menu. For starters, you get to choose between soup or their AYCE buffet. The buffet has a variety of grilled vegetables, fresh salad, cold cut meats, melon, and cheese. It has a good selection. Entrée is ordered from the menu, which changes periodically. It normally has a meat, pasta, vegetable and fish assortment. One of my favorite dessert here is the balsamic strawberry. It sounds very simple, but is heavenly. You can order tea/coffee afterwards. Oh, by the way, their bread sticks are divine. They come to your table warm, accompanied by 3 different dipping sauces: sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and garlic. I can fill myself up with eating the break sticks alone. :-) Service: 4⁄5 stars The servers are attentive and friendly. If you are a regular, they remember your name. There are only a couple of times when they were short-staffed and we had to wave someone down. Otherwise, you can catch someone’s attention quite easily. Environment: 4⁄5 stars The place is clean and comfortable. It can get busy during peak lunch times. They accept reservations. The only down side is that you may possibly run into your colleagues or your business associates there. So turn your head and look around if you plan to gossip.
