The two sake cocktails were really quite impressive, the smoked lychee sake that comes steaming and smoky out of a container, poured at the table and the Sakeila, a mixture of sake and tequila, which comes in a complicated ladle with a smaller sipping cup on the side. In fact, it was too complicated, and as the drinks took a long time to come, and we had to rush to catch a train… it was a bit of a bummer to not really be able to appreciate it. Still, it’s a cool space, and it was fun watching a group of models come in and start talking selfies and welfies. Just over HKG250 for the two drinks: perhaps a bit expensive?

In a word — a cozy bar with good vibes. Longer version(for the brave) — we’re getting old and it’s official, ending the night with a beer in a bar is the highlight of my evening. And to be honest? I quite like it. The bars around LKF were not really my type, but climbing a bit up the street I’ve been introduced to this bar, which is rather calm, has good music and not too many people around, which is just what a needed for a weekday night. There’s cool graffiti on the wall and the staff is nice, we were just having one beer but if I wasn’t too tired I would stick around for sure. Besides beer there are also some interesting cocktails on the menu and some beers from around the world. I had a cold Asahi and it was great. For those of you who must stay connected(or check in for Unilocal ;)) there’s also wifi — but talk to your friends and don’t stick your head on that tiny screen, the music is not too loud :) The bar was rather empty, but no idea how crowded it is on the weekends. Climb up the street, it’s worth it

My friend recommended this place for a late night drink. The cocktails are quiet special indeed. The Pasabi is a cocktail with wasabi, interesting enough to surprise our Shanghai friend Haha. The other cocktail KYU is a green tea cocktail, quiet nice too. The cocktails are strong in alcohol but good enough not bring a hangover the next day. Recommended if you are looking for something new and interesting.

I first discovered Ozu Bar, Hong Kong, via an Instragram post from one of the foodies I follow in Hong Kong. I was instantly intrigued due to the different unique drinks and food it has to offer. I immediately wanted to try this place out and see what it is all about. I came here with a High School friend for Happy Hour and got some of their food and drinks. We both ordered the Tranguility cocktail, Zucchini fries, Tofu fries, and BBQ Chicken skewers. To be honest, the Tranguility cocktail was definitely… strange. The incense touch was very unique and interesting, but this labeled«healthy cocktail» tasted more strange than healthy to the both of us. Of all the cocktails I have had and tasted, this is definitely one I would not get again. I guess it’s just too funky for me. Zucchini fries — you’re all right. I’ve had much better tasting zucchini fries at The Cheesecake Factory with honey mustard — goldennn. The zucchini fries here are literally just O-K, not something I would again. Now onto the Tofu fries — the tofu fries definitely surprised me, for me the better. Interestingly, the taste and quality of the tofu exceeded the expectation of my friend and myself. If I ever do come back here, I would certainly order this dish again. Trust me, it’s much better than the other two veggie dishes we ordered.

This is one of the spots on Wyndham Street where people tend to walk past a lot, but rarely pay attention to. With OZU opening now, it may have made a difference. It has a(kinda) Japanese name, and Japanese styled graffiti on the wall, all look pretty neat, excepts the bar per se has very little to do with Japanese. A fusion of modern Japanese stuff, maybe, but definitely not a place you look for sushi. A usual night here often starts off overly quiet, then to almost overly busy. Anytime in between is very decent, good mix of people and vibe. I go for Hendrick’s & tonic usually, but they have G’Vine as well, which is served with a big-arse glass. They have quite a few signature sake cocktails. It looks to have the trend these days, but they are not trend-followers, but set a few bars too. Kyu cocktail is always one of the recommendations. Made of Hendrick’s, with a taste of mint, kiwi and cucumber(and dry ice, if it has any taste at all). There are other cocktails that do the dry ice/liquoid nitrogen tricks too, I’m not huge about it but you can always impress a friend or two. The food is, surprisingly, what I like most. Baked sweet potato fries with honey mustard — that’s a must. Deep fried dumplings are top notch too. The thing is you can actually have enough dishes here for a proper dinner, while you are chilling out drinking. One Monday to Thursday they also have the«chicken madness», where you can have all-you-can-eat chicken popcorn, sliced & skewers for HKD$ 50. As long as it doesn’t get touristy or overcrowded, this bar can stay on Wyndham Street and remains popular for quite awhile.

My friends love coming here and I can see why. The vibe is super chill and it’s always packed with people… even though it’s packed, for some reason, we always manage to find a seat! I remember the first time here, there was a really cute waitress.(and this is embarrassing), they asked for her number while I just sat there.-_– Fortunately she was really cool about it and ended up doing a few shots with us. Now that’s the spirit! They have a pretty decent sake list here, separating the list into different types of sakes with description yet accurate explanations, this is great for entry level sake drinkers. One of the things i like about their sake list is that they have really large bottles. A lot of japanese restaurants have 300 ml and maybe selected would have 720 ml or 1.8l. Ozu has 720ml or 1.8l for quite a few of their selections. So if you’re planning a big night out, this could very well be an option. I find that every time we come to this bar, we have a really good time — with slight hangover the next day. The prices are very reasonable for a bar on wyndham so it isn’t a bad choice if you don’t want to break your bank to get tipsy in central. Good place to chill and have drinks :)
