Up above the GF in La Kwai Fong you’ll find a truly great restaurant. Post 97 is a hip space with good lighting, a street view and most importantly, fantastic food and drink. The drink menu is what likely draws people in. As a matter of fact, there are probably a few people that don’t even know it’s a restaurant. The chicken Parmesan is the best I’ve had here in HK. There is a slight downgrade on the fries that were greasy. My wife thought the fish & chips were too greasy too. So maybe your experience will hinge on what you order, but I’d recommend the place for sure.

Fantastic place to get a real drink, not some«how many shots can you drink in an hour» dive bar. Many types of high-quality alcohol– even St. George’s gin from home! The bartender made a fantastic Old Fashioned for me, and my wife had a very tasty Tropical Julip. The atmosphere was very cozy and relaxed.

As most of you already know, I am actively pursuing to be the second greatest rapper of all time(there’s no beating Kendrick at this point). But I was hitting a writer’s block and definitely not pimping any butterflies, so I decided to head out to LKF with my groupies to clear my head. Post 97 seemed like a fitting place to go in to. The name itself was inspiring because it alludes to a historic event in Hong Kong, the Handover. The Handover. British sleepover. Eating wontons in my Range Rover. See? Working already. The bar was dim and very loud. My homie and I tried to have a rap battle but it was for naught as our punchlines kept getting drowned out by Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’. That’s when he suggested The Flaming Lamborghini. The Flaming Lambo is a very popular drink in Hong Kong. In essence, it is basically a drink blazed in fire. The ticket price at Post 97 is around $ 150HKD, which is a bargain because most other places charge $ 200+ for the Flaming Lambo. I couldn’t refuse. To prep for the Lambo, the Post 97 stacked up wine glasses like Jenga. He then poured alcohol on top and let it trickled all around to the bottom. And with a touch of spark, it was as if all of LKF was afire. The fire didn’t last too long though. We only got around 273 selfies in before the fire gave out, meaning we were still around 381 selfies short. But that’s my responsibility. If i wanted a bigger fire, I should’ve just threw my mixtape in. Anyways, if you want a bargain on a Flaming Lambo, holla at Post 97. But if you want a fire like no other, bring this rap verse with you… check it Hunnid in my pocket and my rap game strong Brand new Vans down at Lan Kwai Fong Guys white local yellow eyes so red No purple in city imma drink instead Pre game Post 97 all shot’s on me Just lemme get an advance on that HKD I burn through cash like games at NamCo Drive toyota but I Flaming Lambo Past the gates and straight to heaven That’s the happening at Post 97 #fire #fire #fire foodkid fAAtcity

After reading about Post 97 on Time Out, I had to try it due to its unique décor of «Victorian England meet 21st century Hong Kong» and the name which strikes as the fusion of the west and east after the handoff of 97? Located in LKF, its a strange bar to see in a row full of «normal» bars which most people have frequented for years. Going in was a surprise, not what i expected the place to look like and got my attention right away. We were seated very quickly and I ordered a whisky cocktail for myself and a fruity tequila based drink for the gf. Service was very friendly and the staff started us with 2 complimentary negroni shots before our cocktails arrived. I order 3 snacks, sweet potato with jalapeño, pork sliders and baby beets with goat cheese. The presentation of the food was very impressive. Everything came out looking great and added psychologically to the flavor of the food. The dishes came out great with the fusion of the sweetness of the sweet potato and jalapeño being my favorite. The baby beets were my least but then again, i’m not a huge veggie fan plus it has slices of anchovies on it. It was a great pre-diner snacks + drinks however at the end, the bill came out to HKD623 which is expensive for just 2 drinks and 3 appetizers and thus give this place 4 stars for the food and visuals but 3 for the price. Would I be back? Yes but because its away from the crowd on the main street, friendly service, offers a unique taste of different cocktails and is impressive.

Presentation was amazing. Each dish was perfectly done and the service was great. Started off with a julip served in a metal cup with crushed ice. Went on to a Earl Grey infused drink in a glass tea cup with a giant ice ball. The drink itself was bottled so as to enjoy and not over melt the ice. On to the meal. We had a Fantastic Mac and cheese. The crab cakes were all-crab, not much filling. Lobster roll was like we ordered it in Maine. Sliders had an apple slaw and a Bbq sauce that was just sweet enough and just tangy enough. Apparently they just remodeled and relaunched and the attention to detail was fantastic.
