Ive come here on 2 separate occasion within a 6 months period and have to say that one of the visit, food was just OK and the otherwise was bad. Started both visits with there so called famous goose. There is really nothing impressive on their so called famous dish. nowadays, there are other restaurants that offer a better quality of goose and flavour as well. Both visits, i also had the Shatin Chicken Congee, which was just par. I get the impression there is quite a lot of cornstarch(to take shortcut) in the congee to give you the impression of a silky texture. I have made congee countless times and the one served here does not have the natural silkiness and viscosity that you get in a properly boiled congee. My most recent visit, i had the US beef shortribs casserole. This dish was just simply bad. The beef was so over tenderized, im sure anyone without dentures could even eat this dish. Needless to say, i dont think i will be coming back in the near future.
