OMGOMGOMG My husband found this café on Unilocal, raved about it, and then took me there on our last visit to Hong Kong. So friggen good! What makes it even more enticing is it’s located on the top floor of Sheung Wan Market, on an air conditioned floor. I loved the french toast here. As other reviewers mentioned, they use condensed milk as the sauce and it is dee-licious. If you want to go the savoury route, the beef noodles are the most expensive thing on the menu but totally worth it! A decent sized bowl with heaps of noodles, beef, and a fried egg on top. Can’t get any better than that. Wash it all down with a bottle of cold milk tea and you have successfully gone through a quintessential HK experience.

Located on 2nd floor of the Sheung Wan municipal building is a gem of a coffee shop. Forget the ambience — nothing to see(looks like a Singapore Hawker stall with air on), but that French Toast, though, made me want to cry, it was sooo good! It that had this lethal combination of egg, butter and a tinge, what can only described, as a HK flavour. Yes you heard right, it’s an Asian French toast. Maybe a bit of exaggeration, but it’s not to be missed. This dish is best complimented by the shops famous milk tea in a old school glass soda bottle. I didn’t try it, but my neighbor had the Pork, Egg, Sausage, Ham noodles. I’m definitely going back to this shop, just for that! Wow, what a find! Thank you Unilocal

This review is about a month delayed but WHATEVER they are all about the Rice Bowl life in HK anyway… but for those loyal Unilocalers, here is my review of what might have been one of my favorite stops when I was in HK. This food stop is in a municipal building on the second floor, so when you get to the building, go up the escalator and take a right and it will be there in the corner. You’ll know you’re there when you see people drinking milk tea out of glass bottles and straws. No one who works on the second floor speaks English(at least when we were there) so it’s good to show pics of the food or at least screen shots. There’s free Wi-Fi so looking up pics shouldn’t be an issue. Here’s a run down of the food we ordered: –condensed milk toast(i.e. French toast drizzled in condensed milk instead of syrup). pretty good and actually not too sweet. It’s best eaten hot. –spam breakfast noodle soup. This was essentially ramen noodles in a beef broth with spam and a fried egg. very flavorful. –egg sandwich(my personal fav) which was bbq pork and scallions scrambled in an egg served on a hoagie bun –milk tea, crazy sweet but my favorite version while in HK. I’m sure there are a lot better places we may have missed during our visit, but compared to many of the places we did try, this was one of the tastier ones.

I realise it is thousands of miles away and it has been a little while since we been, but I felt like I must write at least a few lines about it as it was so good and will always be in my memory. This is the place tucked away on the upper level of the Sheung Wan municipal Building where you can get milk tea served in original Schweppes bottles, taste the most delicious French toast amongst other things. The elderly gentle-man there was the one who started serving milk teas like he does in the whole of Hong Kong many years ago. Anyway the French toast and tea are delicious, so good we ordered another. This place sits in the edge of a big floor area which has lots of other small local type eating places. All kind of just like street food. Nothing flash… and cheap. I would definitely go there everyday if I lived in Hong Kong.
