One of my canteens when I am too lazy to cook. We discovered this place after passing by it a few times noting it is always packed! I would consider this place a semi– dai pai dong as there is outdoor seating, right next to the road! It specializes in Chiu Chow food and you would notice it immediately: everyone has a fish dish on their table!!! The restaurant proudly servers local mullets from Yuen Long. They claim the fish is fresher and does not have the repulsive pond smell compared to the mainland mullets. Each fish even has an identity tag! The fish is very tasty indeed and is a must-order item for me every time I go since. The cockles are very delicious as well but I recognize it may not be for every one since it’s only semi-cooked and carries the distinct taste of fresh cockles(some called it raw and yuck). For the less adventurous, I recommend their oyster pancakes and marinated dish(e.g goose, tofu, etc.). I am always so stuffed by this point I never had a chance to try their Chiu Chow desserts! That taro roll you see as you walk-in to the restaurant is forever tempting. Next time… next time…
